From Sunday, May 28 06. Wow! After weeks
of speculation it is true, the Argonauts announced the signing of suspended
Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams at an afternoon news conference
today.
There has been a lot of talk/discussion/argument the past weeks on radio and
Total-CFL.com Discussion as to whether the CFL should allow Ricky to play as he
is currently under NFL suspension for 12 mths. I say this is a good thing for
the CFL especially as he will be playing in Toronto where many NFL fans bag the
CFL. Maybe now these Canadians that have bagged/snubbed the CFL in the
past will come and watch Ricky play and realize what a great game the CFL is and
what a great atmosphere the CFL has!
Just before today's announcement
Ricky was shown on the Rogers Centre videoboard at the White Sox-Blue Jays game
Sunday wearing a Toronto Argonauts hat and was introduced as the team's newest
player. Ricky was recently suspended by the NFL for the entire 2006 season after
a fourth positive drug test. He missed Miami's first four games last year
following his third positive test. Apparently Williams and agent Leigh Steinberg
have been in Toronto for the past five days. Ricky arrived on his own three days
earlier and has met with Argos ownership and president Keith Pelley. However,
the two sides could only go so far until the Dolphins allowed this to happen.
Williams will reportedly earn around $250,000 with Toronto, which would easily
make him the highest-paid running back in the league. Williams, 29 years young,
rushed for 743 yards last year and averaged over four yards per carry with the
NFL Miami Dolphin Mammals although he missed the first four games.
One of my most popular MYKwebTV shows ever features Ricky Williams! For

May 23 06 "CFL punter Duncan O'Mahony is safe! Talking Duncan and CFL on
SportRage! Talking CFL Footy on Calgary's QR77 Sportstalk Wednesday night 10pm!" Myk
After emailing Gabriel Morency
late last night as per below, Jimmy Spenser his assistant then called me and
thus I was on SportsRage last night talking about Duncan along with the
Stampeders. It's always great to be on Gabriel's SportsRage.
From Total-CFL Discussion.
O'Mahony found MAY 22 2006 04:40 PM
Winnipeg Blue Bomber kicker Duncan O'Mahony has been located, and he's safe. The
family issued a statement this afternoon saying his whereabouts have been
determined, and they were able to establish contact with him. The family says
he's safe, and they're asking for privacy to bring the matter to a close.
O'Mahony had been missing since Friday when he missed a connecting flight from
Calgary to Winnipeg, where he was to report to training camp on Saturday.
As I'm here late Mon night/Tues
morning and listening to Gabriel Morency on SportsRage on Internet radio talking
about Duncan I decided to email Gabriel.
Gabriel,
I can honestly say he is a friend of mine. He's a great guy. I suppose we will
all find out what is going on in his life soon. I know one thing is the
Vancouver Media were Aholes to Duncan. They hounded him way to much and Duncan
did not handle it very well.
While some BC Lions Fans that
have no idea about football bagged his punting. I used to argue with some fans
at BC Place in 04 and 05 sticking up for his punting. He punted very well for
the BC Lions in 90% of the games. He did have a bad Grey Cup in 2004 though and
he definitely struggled with goal kicking but he is still a very good punter. I
think Paul McCallum is not that good anymore and I was concerned when the Lions
got him and let Duncan go. As a BC Lions fan #1 I now hope Paul McCallum is
better in 06 than he was in 05 for the Riders. I'll call you soon. I'm still in
Calgary, went to Stamps opening day practice yesterday.
From Sunday's Stamps practice! On Sunday I chatted for awhile with Mark
Stephen's the #1 Stampeders Sports guy from QR77. Wednesday just after 10pm Mark
suggested I call his SportsTalk show to talk sport including CFL. Hope you can listen

Stamps practice on the new turf! Talking CFL Footy on QR77 Wednesday night
10pm!" Myk
My friend Duncan
O'Mahony is missing, apparently in Calgary. I 1st heard this on Sunday afternoon
from Dave Will the former Calgary Shaw TV host who is now with Calgary News
radio.
From Total-CFL.com Discussion today:
Today the report is as per below.
O'Mahony absence concerns family. Winnipeg kicker Duncan O'Mahony failed to
arrive at training camp on Friday, which has now become a serious concern for
the player's family and teammates. O'Mahony, who recently signed with Winnipeg
Blue Bombers, failed to report to the team's training camp. The 29-year-old
O'Mahony was scheduled to arrive at camp on Friday evening. The player's absence
is now of serious concern for both his family and team officials.
O'Mahony's father, Dr. Justin O'Mahony,
issued the following statement: "Our son has not shown for training camp due to
personal issues. We are having difficulties reaching him and there is concern
for his welfare. We therefore ask that anyone who knows of Duncan's whereabouts
to please contact the Winnipeg football club or his family as soon as possible."
Apparently the seven-year veteran
boarded a flight from Abbotsford, BC, to Calgary, AB, on Friday afternoon, but
he did not make the connecting flight to Winnipeg, MB. In spite of multiple
efforts to reach him there has been no contact.
Wow! This is strange. Duncan started his CFL career in Calgary so I know he does
have some great friends still here. Let's hope he is all OK.
The Stamps practice yesterday on the
new turf at McMahon Stadium! I had a fun afternoon watching the Stampeders
train yesterday at 3pm. Had a good chat with a few great Stamps fans watching
along with a brief chat to Jim Barker as he was eagerly enjoying watching all
his new and regular players practice. I also chatted for awhile with Mark
Stephen's the #1 Stampeders Sports guy from QR77. Wednesday just after 10pm Mark

From Bombers Media. The addition
of O’Mahony gives the Bombers another experienced kicker.
“Duncan O’Mahony had a consistent
season punting the football in 2005,” Taman said. “His experience and ability
will be a valued addition to our football club’s special teams.” O’Mahony
(5-10, 183, British Columbia ’00, DOB: June 29, 1976 in Kilkenny, Ireland)
punted the football 116 times for 4,935 yards for the B.C. Lions last season,
which ranked him second in the CFL in number of punts and third in total punting
yardage. His net punting average of 38.1 yards ranked him third in the league.
He also had eight punt singles and 38 kickoffs for 2,117 yards.
In 2004, O’Mahony was credited
with 117 punts for 4,854 yards and four singles. His net punting average of 34.9
yards ranked him among the top five punters in the league that season. Those
numbers earned him the nod as the ScotiaBank Special Teams Player of the Year.
Prior to his stint in B.C., O’Mahony spent three seasons with the Calgary
Stampeders, who drafted him in the second round (14th overall) of the 2001
Canadian College Draft.
O’Mahony played in all 18 of
Calgary’s regular season games in his rookie season in ’01 and was part of a
Stamps team that went all the way to the Grey Cup. He punted the ball 122 times
for 5,169 yards during the regular season for a net punting average of 42.4
yards. He played extremely well in the ’01 playoffs, especially in the West
Division Final where he had a 44.2-yard punting average.
O’Mahony didn’t miss a regular
season game in his three-year stint with the Stamps, appearing in a total of 54
regular season contests. In 2002 he punted the ball 126 times for 5,732 yards,
including a gross punting average of 45.5 yards, which ranked second in the CFL
that season, and a 37.6-yard net punting average. He had one of his best seasons
as a pro in 2003 when he was credited with 152 punts for 6,290 yards and a
36.8-yard net punting average. Prior to turning pro, O’Mahony was a
collegiate standout with the University of British Columbia. He was a First-Team
CIAU All-Canadian in 2000 and was a double All-Canadian as a punter and place
kicker. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers officially open training camp May 21 at Canad
Inns Stadium.

This is a Big signing! From Al's
Media just now. Good luck to Quincy in the CFL with the Alouettes. Lets hope he
only puts Vicks Vaporub up his nose from now on not what he apparently got in
trouble with in the NFL and suspended for, the very addictive dangerous white
stuff called Cocaine. The reason he is now in the CFL is because he can't get a
game in the NFL as a result of his drug suspension "s".
From Alouettes media. QUINCY
CARTER WITH THE ALOUETTES
Former Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets starter signs two-year deal.
Former Dallas Cowboys and New York
Jets starting quarterback Quincy Carter will be at the Montreal Alouettes
training camp in May.
Montreal Alouettes Vice President
and General Manager Jim Popp announced today that the 28-year-old quarterback
has signed a one-year contract plus an option with the organization.
"I'm proud to join the Montreal
Alouettes," said Quincy Carter. This is a great opportunity for me to do what I
love best, which is to play football."
Carter was chosen by the Dallas
Cowboys in the second round of the 2001 NFL draft. In eight starts that year,
Carter completed 90 of 176 passes for 1,072 yards, seven interceptions and five
touchdowns. He had his best season in 2003, starting every game for the Cowboys
and completing 292 of 505 passes for 3,302 yards, 21 interceptions and 17
touchdowns. He went to the New York Jets in 2004, playing seven games. Over four
years in the NFL, Carter completed 56.5 per cent of his passes (542/960) for
6,337 yards, 37 interceptions and 32 touchdowns.
At the University of Georgia,
Carter completed 483 of 853 passes for 6,447 yards, 25 interceptions and 35
touchdowns. Carter will be available for interviews upon his arrival in Montreal
for the beginning of training camp.
