A report from Matteo "LINGERIE BOWL III The Lingerie Football League presents in 2006 the same four teams of 2005.

Something more than a third of the players in the 2006 rosters already played in 2005. Three of them were in the game also in 2004 (1st edition of LB): they are Euphoria’s Roban Lampkin, Sheena Mariano and splendid Tanéa Brooks. Los Angeles Temptation. QB: Katie Lohmann. From Alastair Surprise at LFL WHAT: Last year’s Lingerie Bowl was the most talked about event leading up to Super Bowl XXXVIII. In fact, the national attention was strong enough that many media outlets and industry insiders suggested that the NFL, MTV and CBS purposely staged the Janet Jackson incident to compete with the Lingerie Bowl (“Who knew the lengths the NFL would go to sabotage the Lingerie Bowl” – TJ Simers, LOS ANGELES TIMES). Following an incredibly successful inaugural year, Horizon Productions recently announced the forming of the Lingerie Football League. 

The LFL will begin play on January 30, 2005 with the “Garter & Lace Championship Sunday” featuring defending champion Los Angeles Temptation versus Dallas Desire in the West Final and New York Euphoria versus Chicago Bliss in the East Final. The winning teams will advance to play in the Super Bowl halftime alternative Lingerie Bowl 2005. Horizon Productions will formally announce the Lingerie Football League, coaches, celebrities and teams in a press conference unlike any other. They will be introduced, followed by a Q & A session with all coaches, celebrities and players.

Celebrities scheduled to attend include: East Coast Conference Coach Lawrence Taylor (Super Bowl champion and former New York Giant Linebacker), West Coast Conference Coach William “The Fridge” Perry (Super Bowl champion and former Chicago Bears Defensive Lineman), Sideline Correspondent Traci Bingham, world famous “Ready To Rumble” announcer Michael Buffer as well as the full roster of the LFL teams’ model athletes.

Horizon Productions and Pay per view carriers in the US (55 million households) and international (123 countries) will team to broadcast the launching of the highly anticipated Lingerie Football League and the LFL Super Bowl XXXIX halftime alternative Lingerie Bowl 2005. Last year’s inaugural Lingerie Bowl played on February 1, 2004 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was the most talked about event leading up to the Super bowl XXXVIII. In fact, the national “buzz” was strong enough that the producers of the Super Bowl halftime event (MTV) issued a statement two weeks prior to Super Bowl announcing that there will be a “shocking moment” at Super Bowl halftime. Industry insiders and several media outlets reported that this announcement was made to keep viewers from tuning over to the much talked about Lingerie Bowl. This level of awareness and anticipation led to over 334 million media impressions for 2004 sponsors. The overall success of the inaugural Lingerie Bowl has resulted not only in the forming of the LFL, but a television reality series in development, video game and home video with Universal. The significant impact of this first year event was truly remarkable and set the stage for a record setting second year.

Creator and Executive Producer Mitch Mortaza states, “The success of Last year’s Lingerie Bowl established the event as a staple of Americana and the true alternative to Super Bowl halftime. This year’s forming of the Lingerie Football league will build a tremendous wave of publicity and fan fare leading up to 2^nd annual Lingerie Bowl.”

The LFL will begin play in January 2005 with single elimination playoff games in the inaugural “Garter & Lace Championship Sunday” featuring last year’s champion Los Angeles Temptation versus Dallas Desire in the Western Final and the Eastern Final will feature New-York Euphoria versus Chicago Bliss. The winners of these playoff games will advance to the Super Bowl XXXIX halftime alternative Lingerie Bowl 2005.
