Myk Aussie I know your footy fans enjoyed reading this on the old MYKwebWORLD. Here's the details again.

Arena Football Rules...

1) There must be 8 players & one coach on the field at all times during play. The coach must be back w/in 5 yds. of the 4.5" thick foam rubber dasher boards.
2) 6 players have to play offence/defense & special teams. Only the quarterback, offensive specialist(WR), defensive specialist(OS) & kicker are NOT required to play 'both' sides of the ball.
3) Lineman must only rotate substitutions once per quarter.
4) 24 man roster like in the NHL. 20 players must dress per game. 4 man inactive squad.
5) Kickoffs must be from the goal line of kicking team. Punting is illegal. On fourth down the team must go for either: a first down, TD or Field Goal.
6)Drop kicks for FGs are worth four points.
7)Drop kicks for extra points are worth 2 pts.
8)A drop kick to a receiver may be used for converting a 1st down only on 4th down, but the ball can not be advanced past the point of the catch, though.
9) Balls off the crossbars, padded walls & 30'x32' nets are live, as are kickoffs.
10)If a returner is tackled in his endzone on a kickoff, he retains posession & the ball is placed @ the five. If a returner runs the ball out of the endzone & goes back in the endzone 7 is tackled it's a safety
11)Safeties, drop kick extra points & missed conv kicks returned are worth 2 pts.
12)Drop kick FGs are worth 4 pts & regular FGs are worth 3 pts.
13)Touchdowns are worth 6 pts.
14)The LBs on defence must stay w/in the area behind the D-lineman until or unless the QB,FB or TE release out of the Off.backfield w/ a run or a catch.
15)One of the three Off.Linemen must raise his hand eligible as a TE before the ball is snapped.
16)One WR/OS may go in forward motion @ the snap of the ball on offence.
17)Overtime: each team gets a procession from the 25 yd.line. If a team scores, the other team must match or top that previous score until a winner is decided.
18)Passing rules are the same as NFL or NCAA.
19)Passer rating is the same as NFL or NCAA.
20)The ball used is the same size, weight, shape as those made for the NFL, NFL E or NCAA. (The Canadian League ball is somewhat different shaped but like Ar.FL,NFL,NFL E & NCAA is made by Wilson Sporting Goods.
