This morning on 5AA radio back to South Australia with Jeff Burzacott I talked extensively about this job and the unbelievable hype that it has gained around the World. Jeff knew all about it as well. An incredible idea by Queensland Tourism.

I know I'm all good to walk into this job and start filming/interviewing. The late Steve Irwin the Crocodile Hunter Champ would have been the best person for this job. I'll now back myself to be the best person available in the World. Hopefully I'll be in Aussie in 09 filming for MYKwebTV anyway but Wow what a job it will be for the lucky winner.

A great new Surfing documentary called "Bustin Down the Door"!
I attended the premiere of a great Surfing documentary called "Bustin Down the Door" in Calgary recently. I firmly believe this documentary would make a great movie. Growing up in South Australia, doing some surfing and also seeing these surfing stars in the magazines in the 70-90's I enjoyed this surfing documentary immensely. It revolves around a true story of how some Aussie Surfers and Shaun Tomson from South Africa changed the Surfing World in Hawaii’s North Shore of Oahu. Some of their lives were also threatened as a result. I talked about this documentary today on 5AA radio with Jeff Burzacott.

Below is a email I received from Shaun Tomson who is the Legend South African Surfer and along with Rabbit Bartholomew and Mark Richards is one of the stars of the documentary.

Waimea Bay, Oha'u, Hawai'i - The World's best surfers are eagerly awaiting the chance to handle the dangers of the 'Eddie' competition. The Surf Meet was started in 1985 at Oah'u's North Shore. California surfer Pete Mel describes the meet as quiet "and then the sound of a car wreck", as a surfer gets swallowed up by the 20 to 30 foot high waves. The Competition, originally named for lost Hawai'ian surfer Eddie Aikau, is officially called the Quicksilver Big Wave Invitational in memory of Aikau. Sometimes the surfer goes airborne after being completely under the water in the curls that turn into the water in their circular motion. Aikau disappeared in 1978 when a voyaging canoe overturned (the Hokylea) and he paddled out to help. He was never seen again.

This year's competition will include two three time winners in Andy Irons and Kelly Slater, who is rumored to be dating Pamela Anderson, who recently divorced 'Kid Rock'. Slater dated Anderson for three months six years ago following Anderson's divorce from Tommy Lee, the former Motely Crue bassist." Michele DeWalt

What a great picture Judgey the Calgary Kangaroo's Aussie Rules Footy 2005 Best & Fairest winner send me today. Judgey is seen here facing Ritchie the bowler also of the Roo's with a coco nut! What the guys will do when on a surfing holiday to feel at home in Aussie! Not sure where Roo's coach Troy Rose is, maybe he is out surfing the magnificent wave. I have heard great things about holidaying in Costa Rica.

I found the photos of one of the most amazing days ever a few years ago in Bronco Land, Winter Park Colorado, the Annual Spring Splash.



Wow I surprised myself after making the obstacle course I was thinking I was going to make it through the Ice Cold water. Looking good at this stage as I go from Snow Skiing to Water Skiing.

Damn it! A metre or so more and I would have made it. Aaaaahhhhhh it's Cold! I better get out of here but me ski's and legs are all twisted up.

That was great fun! I better get out of this Crazy gear and go for beers and Cwoa Hunt. Hmm and what did I get up to in the bar chasing Cwoa's after with me mates below. This is a funny story I added to Mates Club. Click here or your existing email link to Mates Club.
