Ar.FL week 10 notes...Carolina still winless, though management is being patient
w/ coaching brain trust of Mike Hold & Flint Fleming...both were 12 yr.
veterans of arena play...both should go to the Ar.FL Hall-of-Fame one day,
too...Orlando lost another close one, now 3 in-a-row...two weeks 'til Jay Gruden
back in the lineup...3 QBs in arena league history now w/ 25,200+ or more yds...Las
Vegas backup, Todd Hammel, himself in his 12th season, Detroit's Andy Kelly
& New York's Aaron Garcia...next will probably be Arizona's 10th yr. man
Shredrick Bonner & Preds 'lil Gruden...Crush are stuck in a timewarp of
losses, expansion-style...This weekend Moose is back on the arena road as he
heads to Indianapolis, In. to the Westin Hotel, Shula's Steakhouse & Conseco
Fieldhouse to watch the hometown Firebirds v. Grand Rapids...Was also on Gabriel
Morency's Sportsrage again Fri. night for 5 min(s)...talked about Arenaball
& the American Hockey League's Admirals & the Hamilton Bulldogs who I
think will win the Calder Cup, baring an upset...Arenafootball2, the 'AAA'
league started week one this weekend w/ Hawai'i beating expansion Green Bay
Blizzard, 48-37...Hope Arena Cup4 is in Honolulu this yr...Spoke to Super Bowl
Wayne of Kumu 2/AM 1500 last night too for 5 Mins...
Rest of Af2 scores:
Tulsa Talons 42, Peoria Pirates 39
San Diego Riptides 54, Bakersfield Blitz 36
Wichita Stealth 48, Arkansas (Bill Cliton's favs') Twisters 26
Louisville Fire 36, Cincinnati Swarm 25( Cin. just can't win in footy! )"

Arena Football Update, Mar. 26th, '03
By: Moose Salzer
Remember when ESPN the mag. had those 3 covers w/ former Arena star QB Kurt
Warner on the cover?...The Magazine is celebrating it's anniversary & recapped
some of those covers...Here's what they said: (1) {Sept. 20, 1999} They joked
that an ex-Arena QB (Warner) would lead the Rams to the Super Bowl title...It
was Shrewd since that's what happened 3 months later!...I knew the Rams would
win the Super Bowl then & looked the Footy World's Moses 2 that point since I
had already seen Kurt in two Arena Bowls!, (2) {Dec. 10, 2001} -Mirage...
The Rams once again looked for a Super Bowl
win...Well, they did get to the game & got beat by the new Kurt - Tom Brady,
20-17 on a last second FG by former Amsterdam Admiral (NFL E) K, Adam Vinatieri
(Hey, I just thought about this - Kurt played in Spring of '98 w/ Amsterdam,
too...),...the thing that was interesting about that cover , besides all the
guys wearing each others jerseys is that Marshall (NFL-MVP) Faulk threatened to
boycott the affair unless underrated Ricky Proehl was on the cover, too...Wonder
what Marshall things about Ricky signing w/ Carolina for 3 seasons recently...?,
(3) {Jan. 20, 2003}...Kurt-ains...First bad luck, then questions...Will the Rams
end up like an Arena castoff ? " Moose

Well my arena footy games were interrupted 4 times today by the war coverage!
My beloved Predators lost again this time on Mark McLaughlin's little bro
Steve's kick, 38-36 with 1.7 sec(s) left...Aaron
Garcia continues to amaze w/ 6 more TDs today, 4 to Mike Furrey, who now has 29
TDs catches on the season...
It's obvious
that the Buffalo Destroyers are not the same team w/out Big Daddy, Jerry Crafts,
the best lineman on the planet not in their lineup...He messed up an ankle
that's been slow to heal after playing last season w/ both the Destroyers then
Montreal in their drive to the Grey Cup...He was on I.R., but still got a Grey
Cup ring...Las Vegas 'O' came back alive w/ the return of QB Jay McDonaugh...N.Y.'s
QB Garcia now joins Fury's Andy Kelly w/ 500 career Arena League TD throws...He
now also joins Kelly &
Vegas' backup Todd Hammel w/ 25,000+ arena league yds...In other league(s) news,
Myk & I may be in Fla. if NFL(aaa)Europe does play there later this
spring...
In two
weekends the 'ole Moose takes off on another Footy trip, this time 4/5-4/6 to
Indianapolis, IN. to see the Sat. game of Firebirds v. Grand Rapids...How about
the jerk Chargers letting Darren Bennett's mate, Mr. Charger Tiana Seau, Jr.
go?... Junior Seau will be picked up, no doubt but there goes Doug Flutie's
maybe last chance to get that elusive Super Bowl ring...Marty's brain must be
Schott&Heimered!...Jay Gruden has 20,611 yds., & should be back in the
Preds lineup in two weeks...Connell Maynor is very good but in the last 2 weeks
Tampa & Georgia have blitzed him into neutrality, which is what we should be
engaged in - in the middle east, as the body bags of my Amer.
mates get filled...More on a positive note next week as my beloved
Gruden-less(for the moment) Predators win...FB/LB Rick Hamilton is still out w/
injuries as well...

AFL
on NBC I thought I was in Aussie as I saw the magnificent AFL logo on NBC
yesterdee. Arena fans AFL has been my fav sport ever Australian Football League.
Arena footy also known as AFL is exploding in Nth America. Great to see legend
Denver Bronco's QB John Elway watching his team yesterday sitting with the newly
signed Bronco's QB Jake Plummer. John Elway is a co-owner of the newly formed
Colorado Crush. Most of you guys know I am a Bronco! The Crush however got
beaten 72 to 45 by the Arizona Rattlers yesterdee on the NBC game of the
day." Myk

Week 8 Notes; Edmonton Eskimo-on-loan, DE/TE Kelvin Kinney & his Tampa
linemates made the day an uncomfortable one for QB, Connell Maynor, as the
previously unbeaten Orlando Preds fell to the Storm by 20 in Tampa. As coach Tim
Marcum said in the comments after to ace sideline reporter Lewis Johnson, if the
Storm had lost & fallen 3 games back in the southern division, it would have
been tough to keep up. Preds have another tough game on NBC next Sun. @ 12:15pm
as they face the 5-2 L.A. Avengers...
No serious
injuries again this weekend to report & look for QB/Off. coordinator Jay
Gruden back on the field in 3-4 weeks for the Preds...plenty of NFL scouts in
the house in Tampa today to check out players in both boxes. NFL E, where ever

** If the Arena playoffs started today, the teams above the line would make

Arena Football Quote of the week: "...I've seen a lot of kids move away
from {Amer.} football because it's too slow...The speed of our game
(arena football) will keep the kids attention..." - John Elway, co-owner,
Colorado Crush, arena expansion team
(Big John is the greatest QB of all-time- Moose Salzer. No other QB started
more games, won more games & Elway took the Broncos who he spent his entire
16-yr. playing career w/ to 5 Super Bowls in 11 yrs. No other QB did that!)
"Wow

Monday's game pick: Orlando Predators <over> the Indiana Firebirds
Week seven Notes:...Myk & I were on Gabriel Morency's Sportrage show on
Friday Night, live from Montreal, in La Belle Provonce...I came on @ 10:00pm for
12 minutes, Myk after me...I've talked to Gabe several times off the air &
he will continue to have me on the rest of the Ar.FL season for color, analysis
& picks...other related footy stuff as well...Got several calls from Super
Bowl Wayne & the KUMU 2/ A M 1500 guys this week as well...
Wayne is really excited
about my trip to Conn., R.I., N.Y.,MA. next week...I've got an alopated
psychotronic trip planned, kids...Moose will hit the Pro Baseball, Basketball,
Lacrosse, Boxing, Soccer & Tennis Halls-of-Fame, sponsored by Friends of the
CFL-USA...
FB/LB Kevin Clemens
scored a 1 yd. TD run w/ 0 sec(s) left on the clock for the Avengers to escape
with a 4 pt win over hapless 0-6 New York...Todd Hammel, who replaced injured
starter Jay McDonaugh @ QB passed for 206 yds. & 3 4th qtr. TDs to lead the
Gladiators,
now 3-3 over also winless Carolina...The difference in the 2 winless teams are
obvious to anyone who knows arena ball...New York has only a great QB in Aaron
Garcia & Carolina doesn't have a great QB...The two should win this week, as
I told Gabriel Friday...'97 Arena Bowl winning QB Donnie Davis lead the Ga.
Force to their win over overrated Grand Rapids, who won the '01 A.B...Dan
Curran's 3 rushing TDs helped as well...Marty Lowe's guys are now a surprising
4-2...
Keep an eye on the
rapidly developing squad come playoff-time...John Kaleo & the Tampa offence
are hanging in there, trying to keep up w/ their high-flying division mates:
Orlando, which plays Indiana tonight @ home, Dallas & GA...
The Storm beat Buffalo,
52-27 on Sat...Arizona, like Tampa is now 3-3 since beating Andy Kelly &
Detroit Friday night, 51-41...Speedster Chris Horn is keeping the NFL scouts
mouths watering with his outstanding play N.Y. Jets coach Herm Edwards wasted a
good pregame speech on the cross-state Dragoons Sun. & sat in the front row
to watch the game...Former NFL coach Pete Carroll also sat in the front row 3
weeks ago @ a L.A. game...Jim Kubiak & Andy McCullough also are showing they
wnat to get NFL paychecks again w/ outstanding performances for the Desperados,
a Dallas Cowboys entity...Poor John Elway's Colorado Crush
dropped to a very expansion-like 1-5-0-1 after the defeat to Dallas...
Todd Hammel, who started
w/ the WLAF N.Y. Knights in '91 is now the Ar.FL's all-time passing leader w/
25,000+ yds...Carolina coaching brain trust of Flint Flemming & Mike Hold,
two arena football greats as players, both of whom played 12 seasons in
arenaball, appear to be safe for the moment...both are trying everything in
their power to turn the Cobras, who almost went to the Arena Bowl last season,
back around...This past week they brought in a good QB in Ron Lopez, who has
played for Oklahoma, Iowa, Arizona...Once Ed & Coach Mike get the offence
turned around Flint should be able to get the defence right...remember, the NFL
E training camp in Fla., now will be cutting some American players as the teams
reach the 39 man roster limit in the next few weeks...former arena leaguers are
still trying to get into Europe to hopefully to use that springboard to go into
the NFL...
Af2 camps are going now
as well & when NFL E & Arean League end in June the CFL will start
w/ season opening game on Tues., Jun. 17th...Arena Bowl XVII will be on NBC on
Sun. June 22nd...More next week from the ever-expanding MykWebT.V. World / Total
CFL...-Mooseman over & out!

Football Notes...On Thursday last week all 4 New York coaches were fired ..A big
mistake...After a great article about primary owner Charles Wang, the computer
guy appeared 2 weeks ago in the U S A Today(really,yesterday!) Sports
page...Wang owns the Dragons in Arenaball, Hawai'i Islanders in Af2, which opens
training camp(s) today! & the NHL New York Islanders...John Gregory, who
coached the Saskatchewan Roughriders to the Grey Cup Championship in '89 &
who left the CFL to accept the expansion Iowa Barnstormers top coaching job in
'95, was a fine coach who's team just had a rough start to the season...0-4, in
a 16 game schedule is not a bad start in Arenaball, as odd as it sounds...
Orlando started 0-3 4 seasons ago
& still made the ArenaBowl w/ a 7-7 Reg. season mark...I think Aaron
Garcia's bunch made a huge mistake...Gregory was Kurt Warner's coach @ Iowa
& helped take Iowa to 2 Arena Bowls... Another great game yesterday on NBC
w/ the Desperados outlasting the Rattlers in OT 65-64...Anybody think Jerry
Colangelo will fire Danny White, yet?..Of course not...New Offencive Coordinator
Jay Gruden, the injured Preds QB watched his replacement Connell Maynor tie
Jay's team record 8 TD passes in Orlando's 72-56 drubbing of coach-less New
York, who will be on T.V. @ NBC's special time of 12:15 p.m., next Sun...
Some golf gibberish is causing
the early start...Actually I like the early start next weekend, because I'll be
going to Rhode Island, New York, Massachusettes & Connecticut next week
anyway...I've got a date w/ the Lacrosse, Baseball, Basketball, Tennis, Boxing
& Soccer Hall(s)-of-Fame!
Don't forget kids, the Grey Cup Trophy, the oldest Pro Football Trophy on planet
Earth will be on display @ the Regina, Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame for two
weeks starting March 4th - through March 16th, 2003
More articles about Arenaball are appearing in Sports Publications such as ESPN
Magazine, U S A Today sports section, Sports Illustrated & Pro Football
Weekly...It'll only be a matter of time before it takes over...Much to the
chagrin of wimps like Dan Rooney, Jay Leno, Bob(s) McNair
& Molinaro...In training news for Arenafootball2 the following foreign-born
players have been invited to the 32 teams camps...
Canada:
QB Ben Chapdelaine, QB Adam Lane, QB Ryan Reid, WR/DB Kevin Johnson,
DS Daniel Williams, O/DL Aaron Williams, O/DL Nick Tsatsaronis, O/DL Mat
Goreski, O/DL Tommy Toussaint
Australia:

O/DL Chris Tia, TE/DE Rich Tia, QB Joe Toilolo, O/DL Anrew Tugaga, FB/LB
Clem Vaka, O/DL Jake Vaka, QB Dave Ward, WR/DB Mark Legge
Germany: O/DL Stephen Stursburg
New Zealand: O/DL Dion Campbell & WR/DB Michael Mau'u
Japan:
DS Satoru Abe, QB Hiroki Inoune, WR/DB Katsuhiro Motono, DS Kohei Satomi
* (formerly w/ NFL E), WR/DB Mutsumi Takahashi, OS Yuichi Watanabe, FB/LB
Yusuki Yabe, FB/LB Yuji Kimura, FB/LB Tsukasa Konishi, QB Takeshi
Shinzo, FB/LB Takamasa Suzuki, DS Shinichi Takeda, WR/LB Teruhio Ura
...The National Indoor Football League kicked off it's fourth season Sat. as the
Utah Warriors Defeated New Mexico 70-12...Ouch!..This AA Indoor semi-Pro league
has twenty-four teams & plays for the Gold Cup... Myk & I met the
Co-owner of the Champ Ohio Valley Greyhounds in Honolulu during Pro Bowl
week...He said the league averages about 4,200 fans per game...Most good players
from this league go to camp w/ Af2 teams, if they move up...This league does not
have the same exact rules as Arena Football League/Af2 because the arena game
has patents in U S, Canada, Mexico, Hawai'i, Australia & Japan...'Til next
week, auf wiedersehen!" Moose
