Below I've included Craigs report on my favourite up and comer, Bryce Harper.
From Craig Ballard "Less than 100 games to go in the 2012 MLB Season, and already we see some of the Future stars already getting their careers rolling in '12...In this Blog entry we will highlight some 1st and 2nd year players that are here to stay, and producing at a level that should already have their fanbases excited...All 9 positions, let's do this...
OF...I had to have Bryce Harper (19...WHAT, 19?!?! yep) on this list because I am so damn impressed with him, plus he is a Rookie...His "Household name" status made me wonder if I should have him on this list, but again the young man is a Rookie so he had to be included...This guy is awesome...Accomplishments are already through the roof for this 19 year old stud...High School Player of The Year / All World Team / Babe Ruth Award / Golden Spikes / #1 pick / SWAC Player of The Year...wow...1 month into the 2012 season the Nationals had to put Jeff Zimmerman on the DL which created a roster spot that Bryce Harper took...This guy took the ball and is running with it...How about Top 5 for all MLB Rookies in HR, Batting Average, Walks, Triples, Runs, OBP, Slugging %, and OPS...Again we say wow." The latest on this crazy sports story is Roger
"the Sports Rage Dodger" may be in more trouble with US congress for
"apparently" telling lies in congress on Feb 13.
From Feb 13, 08. I
don't need to say too much here in regards to Roger Clemens other than
it was a very sad day for USA Sport. I am really struggling with what
has been happening in several Sports over the past 10+ years in
regards to steroid use. MLB has proven a damn disgrace because of
recent events and the Mitchell report in regards to widespread steroid
use.
Have a read below. I've been ripping into Roger "the Sports Rage
Dodger" Clemens since January 2004 as a result of my
discussion/argument with him at a Sports Bar in Houston. Not only
should he go to jail if he lied today I think he should be made to pay
back the millions of dollars that he has made playing baseball since
he "apparently/definitely according to Brian McNamee" used steroids
and HGH. It was a very sad day for USA Sport and for mankind. For a
detailed report from today I suggest this report from Fox Sports

Roger "the Sports Rage Dodger" Clemens is
in the news Huge of late as a result of The Mitchell report!
Is Roger tells Big Fat Porky Pies (Lies) or is he telling the truth? Wow! It's
been huge news the past days after Roger went on 60 Minutes and then had his own
Press conference yesterday denying the apparent steroid use that came out in the
Mitchell report.
I've been ripping into Roger for years now after he wouldn't go on Gabriel
Morency's Sport Rage in a Sports Bar during the Super Bowl week in Houston. Last
week I was listening to Gabriel and he finally admitted it was a disgrace how
Roger showed up at the Sports Bar for like a minute.
From MLB webWORLD Sat,
April 3, 04' "Good

Good luck to
Expo's this year, seriously I follow them because of Sports Rage.
As I said last night I think Roger Clemens now a Astro is a Prick! You may
have heard this from the Sports Rage Super Bowl Friday night broadcast in
Houston but I need to express this as the MLB season starts. At the Sports bar
Shaun Star from The Team 990 Montreal and Internet radio went up to Roger and told
him how we were doing the show for Montreal radio and that The Team was the main
voice of the Expos. Shaun's a big fella and Roger "The Dodger" on this occasion
shrugged him off.
I then went up to him and said "Roger can you please come on this great radio
show in Montreal. Gabriel Morency has a big following and is big on MLB and the
Expos". I showed him my Super Bowl media pass. The big fella looked at me,
looked at me hat, thought for a few seconds and then said "No". He then went on
stage for about 30 damned seconds and then left with his fat body guards in his
big fat limo bus.
Belinda the Cwoa that was with us ran out and was just about inside his limo
trying to get him on the show. He was the most Arrogant AHole sports person I
have ever met! Gabriel shrugged this off last night when I spoke about it but
I know for a fact that Morency was disappointed Roger would not come on
Sports Rage. I'm going to bag him in Houston area until he agrees to come on
Sports Rage and apologize for being a Dick to Canadians." Myk Aussie

From Moose and Greg "The Boston Red Sox won their Eleventh MLB
World Series Championship by beating the Colorado Rockies last night,
4-3.
The Rockies let nine days between winning the National League
Championship Pennant and their days v. Boston interfere with their
Series v. a red-hot Red Sox squad that wrapped up the Championship
before November hit our calendars. Congratulations to Manager Franconi
and the whole Boston Red Sox squad for the great and
dominating World Series performance.
In a season marked by extraordinary performances on and off the field,
Major League baseball players today bestowed their highest honors on
two players--New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez is
Player of the Year and Minnesota Twins center fielder Torii Hunter is
the Marvin Miller Man of the Year. The Major League Baseball Players
Trust will honor the top Players Choice Award winners with donations
of $50,000 each to charities recommended by Hunter and Rodriguez, as
announced today. Highlighting the on-field performances and community
leadershipof Major League players.
Rodriguez, 32, whose selection as Players Choice Outstanding Player
was announcedearlier this week, has accumulated a record eight
Players Choice Awards in his stellar career, including recognition as
2002 Player of the Year. His season-long dominance at the plate
helped keep the Yankees within reach of the playoffs, by leading the
Majors in home runs (54), RBI (156), runs scored (143) and slugging
percentage (.645). Rodriguez established career highs in runs, RBI
and slugging percentage, and on August 4, he became the youngest
player to reach the 500 home run plateau.
Hunter, 32, captured the Marvin Miller Man of the Year award, named
for the founding director of the Major League Baseball Players
Association and awarded to the player whose on-field and off-the-field
performance most inspires others to higher levels of achievement. Toshare his passion for baseball with those less fortunate, he
established the Torii Hunter Project, whichhas partnered with
Little League Baseball’s Urban Initiative to help improve and maintain
the condition of baseball diamonds in urban America. Hunter also
provides personal and financial support for Athletes in Action andthe Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Twin Cities. Hunter,
whose defensive prowess in center field has become legendary, had a
tremendous season at the plate, establishingcareer
highs in hits (172), doubles (45) and RBI (107).
Players Choice Awards annually recognize the best player, pitcher,
rookie and comeback player in each league. The Player of the Year and
Man of the Year awards bestow top honors without regard to league.
Balloting of all Major League players for the Players Choice Awards
was conducted in September under the supervision of accounting firm
KPMG. Since 1992, the Players Trust has contributed more than
$3/million dollars to charities around the world in honor of the

Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox, who join the Colorado Rockies in the

World Series Update:
The Boston Red Sox beat the Cleveland Indians on Sunday night to
complete a fairly amazing comeback which saw them down 2-0, 1-3 to the
Tribe in the American League Finals. Boston won on the road in seven
games and now faces a very well rested Colorado Rockies team.
The Colorado Rockies,
the former name of Don Cherry's NHL team which moved to New Jersey in
1982, under the direction of former Big Leaguer Clint Hurdle, have
beaten the Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-0 and are in the 105th World Series
Championship Series. I am 99% sure I won't be able to attend any
games, unfortunately. The Rockies were last in a world series
Championships in 1993 as an expansion team and lost to Toronto.
World Series Pick: Colorado Rockies in six OVER Boston Red Sox.
The New York Yankees
have lost two prospective Managers for next season when unsigned Joe
Torre, who Managed the club the last 12 seasons told the team he will
NOT resign with them for any amount. He did gentlemanly tell them
thanks for the last 12 years of service. Also, the Chicago Cubs expect
to re-sign Lou Pinella, who also told the Yankees he won't sign to be
their Manager, ever again. Take that George Steinbrenner!

In MLB News, not only
is Tommy Glavine, the former Atlanta P now with the Mets at win number
300, finally but Alex Rodriguez is now at HR number 501. He should
catch Sadaharu Oh sometime in 2011, if he keeps playing and playing at
his current pace. Glavine is also interesting in that he played minor
hockey growing up in Massachusetts. No Nambi-pambi here! Or cupcake.
Florida Marlins
two-thirds of the season report. The Marlins youth has finally caught
up to them. They now stand at 53-62 and the playoffs seem like a
distant thing of the past. Like that last World Series Championship,
2003. The Marlins closed weak last year in the final two weeks of the
season, finishing 79-83. Injury Update: RH Ricky Nolasco was pitching
well in rehab in the Gulf Coast league. And 1B Aaron Boone continues
to do hitting, throwing and strength exercises but with the Marlkins
season going the way it is, they are not rushing him back. Note - this
is a different Aaron Boone than the Ar.FL Utah Blaze WR/WLB. Speaking
of Ar.FL, GA WR Chris Jackson just signed with the Jacksonville
Jaguars. Next week's schedule for the fish is: Arizona, Aug., 14th,
15th, 16th and Barry Bonds, Jr's San Francisco Giants 17th-19th.
On Friday night, two
hours before I went on Gabe Morency's Sports Rage after hours show, I
got home for the Saint Louis Cardinals v. Los Angeles Dodgers MLB
game, won by the L.A. Dodgers, 2-1. Not much hitting but a rewarding
game to sit in the booth and watch the Pros work! About an hour before
game time, I had the occasion to go to the Cardinals / Bowling Hall of
Fame (both housed together across from Busch Stadium). I guess you all
know that the Busch Stadium is named after the Clydesdales Family of
Anheiser Busch.
In Tulsa Oklahoma, I
saw a replay of the Texas League Tulsa Drillers game from down Frisco,
Texas (Rangers), which they lost, 6-5. A very good 'AA' minor Pro game
anyway. The Texas League consists of the follwoing teams: Tulsa
Drillers (Rockies), Springfield (Cardinals), Arkansas (Angels), San
Antonio (Padres), Corpus Christi (Astros), Midland (Athletics), in
addition to Frisco.
In MLB News, Mr.
Steroids "apparently", Barry Bonds, Jr. finally hit the 756th HR and
passed a very good baseball player in Henry Aaron, who had the candy
bar, 'Oh Henry', named after him. Aaron is a way better player than
the one-dimensional Bonds but give Barry credit, he's been
"apparently" pumpin' the 'riods hard the last few seasons and is now
second in Pro baseball history to Sadaharu Oh, the 22-year Japanese
Pro who played mostly for the Tokyo Giants. Oh hit his HRs in 72 less

produced some of the best players in MLB in the last dozen or so years. Here is
how some are doing:

In San Diego's win over the Los
Angeles Dodgers, 5-2 last week, P Trevor Hoffmanthrew his 500th saved
game, an MLB record. Congrats to an honest MLB Player!
In the New York
Yankees 5-1 win over the formerly red hot Minnesota Twinkies, Roger
Clemens, Myk's old buddy from Super Bowl XXXVIII in Houston, got
career win number 350, an outstanding achievement.
In the Florida Marlins
win, the mascot Billy Marlin (a play on the name of Billy Martin,
perhaps Mike Laurie?) got to celebrate like it was 1899 as the Fish
beat the Cleveland Indians 3-0. Scott Olsen allowed only three hits
all night as Miguel Olivo's three-run blast in the 7th propelled the
Fish to a win at home.
Houston's Craig Biggio
became just the 27th MLB player ever to hit 3,000 base hits. And
unlike overrated Pete Rose(n), they weren't all singles. Congrats to
my third favorite player in the MLB's...
Barry Bonds, Jr, or
Barroids as some MLB fans call him is closing in on Hank Aaron, Pro
Baseball's HR leader for second place. Aaron has 755 HRs, 2nd alltime
to the Tokyo Giants 22-yr. Japanese Pro star's, Saduaro Oh's alltime
HR leading 755. I previously missreported Oh's Pro total as 722.
Konichiwah!
Toronto's Frank 'The
Big Hurt' Thomas blasted his 500th MLB HR, and his were done without
Steroids. I will boycott watching Bonds and the 2007 allstar game
because he is such a cheater. Hopefully he'll get banned from the
H-o-F like that other cheater, Rose!" Moose Salzer, Hank O'Toole

sports for MYKwebTV this spring as several of the older writers have

MLB:
On to Major League Baseball where the Detroit Tigers Justin Verlander
from here in the VHSL and NCAA just threw the first No-hitter for
Detroit since it was done for the Tigers back in the Orwellian year of
'1984' [Spooky!]. Last night the Tigers whipped the formerly red hot
Milwaukee Brewers, 4-0. Verlander, who has been great since late last
year is an ex-Old Dominion Monarch. Verlander got plenty of help in
the ninth inning from his Tiger mates, especially Ss Neifl Perez. The
2006 AL Rookie of the Year worked around four walks as well.
Verlander's last victim was J.J. Hardy.
Around the rest of the League, the Division winners are in the
National League:
(1) East: New York Mets, (2) Central: Milwaukee, (3) West: San Diego
In the American League: (1) Boston, (2) Central: Cleveland, (3) West:

I went real Hardcore last night
as it was a Crazy week up here in Canada for me. I was very Aussie patriotic
after the Canadian Shane Doan Hockey disgrace in Canadian Parliament this week
so I went Hardcore on MLB for a bit.
I'm very annoyed at the apparent widespread steroid use in Baseball over the
past 10+ years so I said the best thing about Baseball right now it that
Cwocodile Pamela Anderson is a "Huge" fan.
I heard this week how Cwoc Pammy takes her two boys to Baseball in LA and that
she loves the game. She apparently also said how she would do anything for the
coaches as they are such great guy. Wow! As I said on Sports Rage last night I
bet the coaches can't sleep at night now wondering what Pammy might do to them.
From Sports Rage last night. "Why was Rob Dibble laughing
and why did Gabriel Morency get all upset at me? Why does Morency keep reminding

The New York Mets, the Norfolk Tides former MLB Affiliate
put out the celebration with a 6-1 win last night on ESPN over the Defending
World Champion Cardinals. The Cards paraded the hardware around the field in
convertible cars before the game. But 41-year old pitcher Tommy Glavine, who
grew up in Massachusetts playing Hockey, as well as baseball, got his career
291st win. Ex-Florida Champ Carlos Delgado, who started his MLB career in
Montreal (which is now Washington), put New York ahead to stay in the second
inning.
In Baltimore's neutral
site win over the (now) Nationals (formerly the Expos) Washington on
Friday afternoon, Kevin Millar, formerly of the World Champion Boston
Red Sox, hit a solo homer in the eighth inning to give the Orioles
their 6-5 comeback win. On Friday when I did my report, I predicted
either a 6-5, or 5-4 win, but by Washington. In Baltimore's win,
both Jay Payton and Jason DuBois, from Virginia Beach in H.S., got
hurt and have been put on the D.L.
I made two small

What To Look for:
Washington's deep hitting v. the O's Pitching. Should be a 5-4, or 6-5
type game. As long as these both pretty young Squads don't commit too
many opening day errors, this should be a real good game. Both teams
are not expected to finish too high in their respective Leagues or
Divisions (see Preview below) but these guys are probalby gonna be
better this year. Last year the Nats lost 120 games and the O's
91.

Barry Bonds
head, shoe and pecker size? Will he be going to jail like his mate Greg
Anderson! On the Jim Rome yesterday was the one
of the authors of the book Game of Shadows. This book is about
Barry Bonds, BALCO, and the Steroids Scandal that Rocked
Professional Sports. Apparently Barry
Bonds hat size increased and also his show size from size approximately 10 to 13
when he was "apparently/definitely" taking steroids and "apparently/definitely"
taking Human Growth Hormones.
While these parts and most of his body was exploding I bet his pecker
size was drastically shrinking. Yep little Dick Barry Ball Bag Bonds I bet!
That has always made me laugh, seeing the
gym guys on steroids walking around thinking they are so tough and cool when we
know that while someone's muscles are getting bigger the main muscle and most
useful muscle that us guys have decreases. Idiots! Why would anyone take
steroids to look Big and tough but then not be able to use their main Weapon on
Cwocs, Cwoa's and Aussie Birds properly.
Apparently Barry has been
receiving death threats lately. What a crazy year it's going to be in MLB as
Barry attempts to break the all time home run record. He may be locked up before
he gets the chance to do this as the US Feds are going after him. For those of
you that don't know his trainer Greg Anderson is currently in jail for not
testifying about Barry Bonds and his
apparent/definite steroid taking. I for one
hope he doesn't get the chance to break the record and thus also get his
approximate $16 million for the year with the San Francisco Giants.

Cardinals upset the mighty Tigers in five games!" Moose Salzer
The Saint Louis Cardinals beat the very strong Detroit Tigers surprisingly
easily in five games to win the 105th World Series MLB Championship. The
Cardinals lost in six games back in 2004 to the Boston Red Sox, who had won
their first Championship Series that year, in eighty-six years. Several factors,
including weather and a scheduling change definitely had a bit to do with the
Cardinals win over a very strong (especially Pitching!) Detroit Tigers club. But
give Albert Pujos and Co. credit.
This was not like the sorry Super Bowl XL or bad NBA Finals, where clearly the
lesser of the two teams won in both of those Pro Sports Championships. Look for
both these strong clubs to be back in the playoffs again next year!" Moose

The

Congratulations to the Saint Louis Cardinals as
last night they won the "World" Series of baseball 4-2 in game 5 over the
Detroit Tigers. World Series? What is the whole World playing? As many of you
know I've been based up here in Western Canada reporting on many US Sports the
past 8 years but to be honest I don't like it when the MLB call it the World
Series. It's only the USA teams playing. Can someone please explain this to me.
I suppose when you have a "apparent" and a bit too obvious cheater on a team it
does backfire. It damn well didn't look like dirt to me on Kenny Rogers palm the
game he won while pitching for the Tigers against the Cardinals. I agree with
some of the TV sports commentators that the MLB somewhat ignored this as they
didn't want "another" controversy in their sport during the "World" Series after
all the Steroid trouble of late.
I thought you Baseball fans would find this
interesting. Gregg Henson my radio mate send me this today. "Thanks

I still fully expect the Detroit
Tigers to win the Series, probably in six games. Thanks to me and Myk's mates at
Detroit Radio for the 1968 Fight Song of the then mighty Detroit Tigers, Managed
for so many years by Ontario's 'Sparky' Anderson. What to look for in the 104th
World Series in the next week or two: Catching: Edge to the Tigers, especially
with ex-Florida Marlin
Series winner, Ivan 'Pudge' Rodriguez behind the Tigers Plate.,
First Base: Edge to Saint Louis., Second Base: Edge to the Cardinals., Third
Base [The Hot Corner] Edge to the Tigers., Shortstop: Edge to the Tigers.,
Leftfield: Edge to the Tigers, Centerfield: Edge to the Cardinals., Designated
Hitter: Edge to the Cardinals, barely., Pitching Rotation: Edge to the Tigers.,
Bullpen: Even, Bench: Edge to Tigers., Managing: Edge to Jim Leyland,
Tigers, who has lead the Marlins ('97) to the Championship Series before.
Intangibles: This is where the Tigers Dominated down the stretch, during the
regular season. Tigers will win in Five, Six [Probably], or even seven. Too many
things in their favor. But never count out one of Tony LaRussa's teams. Never."

From Moose. The American League Champion
Detroit Tigers are awaiting the winner of the National League Pennant Series
between the New York Mets and the Saint Louis Cardinals. I really can't pick a
winner - yet, but feel the Mets will probably pull it off - in seven. I can't
see either of them beating the red-hot Tigers who tore through the Yankees and
Super Bowl
Wayne's A's very easily in the other playoff Series so far. The Tigers just look
too strong for either Saint Louis or New York. Stay Tunes (unless you're a

American League Playoff Matchups:
1) New York Yankees (97-65) v. Detroit Tigers (95-67).
Outlook: There's a lot of Virginia Ohana feel to this one (Where's Nate Illaoa
when you need him?), with several players on both teams from here in the Old
Dominion State. I am picking the Yankees to win in five simply because of
Pitching.
2) Minnesota Twinkies (96-66) v. Oakland Athletics (93-69) Take that Rich
Salzer! The Studly one picked the A's to go something like 69-93, but they
became the surprise team of the year! They will not however beat the Twins.
Minnesota is going to the World Series! Twinkies in four.
National League Picks:
1) New York Mets (97-65) v. Los Angeles Dodgers (88-74) It'll be the Mets simply
because of their fine Pitching! The Dodgers have their best team since Tommy
Lasorda was Manager, but they are a year away. If the Bullpen improves next
year, look out!
2) San Diego Padres (88-74) v. Saint Louis Cardinals (83-78) The Cardinals had
to struggle to win the Divisional Pennant and just did win the Division to make
the playoffs. It'll stop there. San Diego is going all the way to meet Minnesota
in the Series! Padres in three!" Michelle

San Diego's Trevor Hoffman became MLB's alltime Saves leader by
gaining his 479th career save Saturday night. Lee Smith (1980-98) had 478 saves.
Hoffman started his career with the Florida Marlins in their first year, 1992,
when they were co-owned by Jimmy Buffett.
In Jan. 1993 he was traded to the San Diego Padres, who I think are (finally)
going all the way. Hoffman leads the National Leagues and the majors overall
with 43 saves, so far this season. In losing to the Philadelphia Phillies, the
Florida Marlins, Hoffman's old team probably fried their skipper's goose and
deep sixed themselves right out of the playoff chase. They are however
mathematically alive but Owner Jeff Laurie wants two ears and tail as the old
saying goes." Moose

Update! Hoffman on target and Florida rookie pitches a no-hitter!" Moose Salzer
Playoff-bound San Diego's Trevor Hoffman is only several saves away from
ex-Cardinal and Cubs strongman relief pitcher Lee Smith's MLB all-time record of
478. He is currently at 475. The Playoff (it would appear) Florida Marlins had a
big surprise two weeks back as rookie pitcher Anabil Sanchez, who spent last
year in the Minor Pro Leagues in Arizona pitched a no-hitter in the Marlins 2-0
win, two weeks ago (sorry I didn't get to it then, I have been a bit under the
weather and working two jobs, besides my Sports gigs, Mea Culpa!). He became
first MLB pitcher to throw a no-hitter since (then) Arizona's Randy Johnson back
in 2004. Florida is now 75-74 and should lock up a playoff spot soon. Florida
won the World Series in 1997 v. Clevland and '03 v. the Yankees.
Toledo just won the IBL Baseball Series for the second consecutive year. The
expansive and expensive Toronto Blue Jays are out for the MLB playoff race as of
last weekend. I thought the Jays were on their way after upping the payroll by a
whopping $30 million over last year. I remember sitting in the Cecil Hotel last
year and watching the press conference for the Signing of
B.J. 'What's-his-name', the vaunted 'Super' Reliever from
Baltimore. Lot of good that did. When Hidebrand demanded out and got traded
earlier this year, that basically deep-sixed the 'Jays.
Maybe Scott Baxter was correct, they need to go back to their old nice looking unis...The Harold Reynolds Firing at
ESPN has really gotten my dander up! He was an ex-Mariners/White Sox player and
a darn good one and was the only reason I sometimes watched the bloody 'Tonight
in Baseball' show anyway. He allegedly hugged a female employee at an office
party for her (I wonder who and what kind of party!?). Reynolds was so far ahead
of his co-host, the toupee wearing wimp Carl Revich that I really didn't pay any
attention to the other guys, save of course for the knowledgeable Pete Gammons
who was on there to offer analysis. A Mystery that deserves more investigation.
Come on ESPN, give the man his job back!" Moose

Baseball Update: MLB-IBL-LLWS Update: Hilo, HI, the Big Island wins over Mexico,

In the Little League World Series game, Saturday from Aberdeen, MD, the
Hawai'ians of Coach Kaha Wong from Hilo, Hawai'i on the Big Island best Mexico,
5-2. Congratulations to Coach and his staff and all the players.
In International League action: The teams have pretty much been decided on who
will go to the playoffs and it doesn't look like any way Ottawa or Norfolk will
make it. Division leaders are: Wilkes-Barre / Scranton, Charlotte and in the
West Indianapolis. The wildcard hopefuls include: Rochester,
Toledo and Louisville. Ottawa is 7.5 games back in the East and Norfolk (52-83)
is a whopping 25 back in the South! There are 14 teams in the League
(Wilkes-Barre / Scranton, PA, Rochester, Ottawa, Ont., Can., Buffalo, Pawtucket,
Syracuse, Durham, Norfolk, Richmond, Indianapolis, Toledo, Louisville and
Columbus). Only eight make the playoffs. Better luck next year; Norfolk, Ottawa,
Columbus, Richmond, Pawtucket and Syracuse!
In Major League action this weekend, the red-hot Marlins continue to fight to
save Manager Joe Gilardi's job with their seventh win in a row, a League
(current) record. The Baltimore Orioles sent IF'r Jeff Conine to Philadelphia in
a trade for 'cash' and a future pick. Considering the O's present state (
59-71), it's a curious move but when you are below .500, anything is possible.
It's a good deal for former Marlin Conine as Philly is 65-64 and has a real shot
at the playoffs as a wild card.
The Toronto Blue Jays seem to be just marking time and are 5-5 in the last 10
games. What happened to all that expensive talent, Jay's Management? The Jays
are behind Boston by only two games, but winning half of your games down the
stretch will not make it up! Division winners right now are: National League
East: New York Mets (Norfolk's MLB club), Central: Saint Louis and West: L.A and
San Diego tied. In the American League, West, surprising Oakland, who I had
picked for last, Central: Detroit with Minnesota closing in, and East: the
dastardly New York Yankees. In dubious records, lovable, losing Tampa is 1-18
since the Allstar game on July 11th in Pittsburgh!
The Champ Chicago White Sox are back in the race with a 76-54
mark and are right on Minnesota's heels! I predicted Ron Gardenhire's team would
surprise, and the twinkies are doing just that! Don't count out Florida and
Houston either to make the playoffs down the stretch. More to come!" Moose

I
took my daughter to her first baseball game two weeks ago and my good friend Myk
Aussie.com already has some of the pics up on MYKwebTV's baseball page (as
above). Man, that guy's good. Maybe that'll help him with his 'grief-therapy' as
his Bud Roger Clemons got rocked by the red-hot Florida Marlins in the last
week. Obviously, everybody now know the American League won the MLB Allstar game
(all since 1997!) recently held in CP Park Centre in Pittsburgh, on July, 11th.
Ottawa blew away the Norfolk Tides, 7-2. After getting three hits in their first
four 'At-bats', off Japanese import (there you go Calgary Jeff Younger!) Yusaku
Iriki, who was tagged for 12 hits forsix runs over five and one third innings
before giving way to the tag-team of US pitchers, Wylie/Bell. Iriki has to talk
through an interpreter and frankly this kid should be down in double "AA"! The
Lynx had lost 1-0 the game the night before.
Yes, I have taught my daughter Juliana Luana Ka'hoan'ano Ewa the lyrics to 'O
Canada', which they sang before the National Anthem, since it's only the
'International Baseball League because Ottawa is in it. The other 11 teams are
American. Ottawa manager Dave Trembley thought Ottawa should have won on
Thursday night as well. But had to settle for only win down here, but as is the
usual case Ottawa beat Norfolk 3 of 4 up in O Canada. This has developed into a
nice rivalry and the main thing to teach the keiki (children) is to always watch
for flying broken bats and balls. We didn't get either. But a nice time out with
the old man for her though. Now, when she gets bigger she can go on a real trip

Barry Bonds is now number two (tied w/ Babe) in Home Runs but he'll never catch
the all-time Pro Baseball leader...read below...Historical Satire, but True:
"Who was Sadaharu Oh, and why is important?" Sadaharu Oh is Pro Baseball's
all-time leading homerun hitter.
Forget the 'Babe', George Herman Ruth and those other two guys, (who frankly I
would like to forget!) the former Yomiuri Giants of Tokyo hit 868 home runs in
the Japan League in 22 seasons. And before you wise guys remind me that the
dimensions of the Japanese Pro 'beseboru' fields are smaller, it's still like
comparing Ar.FL to the CFL (or NFL, another I'd like to forget!). Yea, right. I
already know, so if you want to take a tape or some other type of measurement
and start subtracting, he'd still have more homeruns than an MLB'r. So take that
in yer saki! The name means 'King' in Japanese and he later Coached the Yomiuri
Giants and the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks until retirement in 1995. He is also Pro
Japanese 'beseburu's all-time winningest Coach. On Barry (Big Ego) Bonds, he
said once, "Pitchers (in Japan) wouldn't go right at him." On Henry Aaron he
said, "He would be very frustrated here." When interviewed in the past by
Western journalists he has answered the question of how
he would have done in the MLB in Nth. Amer., "Out of four levels, In batting I
would have been top level. In fielding, pitching, second and third,

Yankees first started wearing pinstriped uniforms. In this week in 1903, New

Monday,
April 10, 06 "Moose's MLB American League Preview and Picks: Toronto and
Minnesota to fight for top!" Myk
April 10th. Blue Jays are 3 wins and 3
loses so far.
From Moose "American League 2006 Preview -
East:
Predicted Order of
Finish: 1) Toronto, (2) Boston, (3) Baltimore, (4) New York Yankees (congrats
on the wedding Ken Saroka! Mateltov!), (5) Tampa Bay
Blue Jays Preview:
With all that money that G.M. J.P. Ricciardi spent in the off-season
THEY better hope they win this Division and I truly believe they will. I
thought the same way about the L.A. Clippers of the NBA who spent
boucoup bucc$ in the off-season, and they at least clinched a playoff
spot. Pitching: the biggest bunch of money $pent was on this area,
particularly the bullpen. When I was in the sleazy Hotel for the Grey
Cup watching the black and white Philco T.V. (just kidding, Myk!), I
turned on Sports Centre on TSN and saw the Press Conference of when they
got B.J. Ryan from Baltimore (and I still think the Orioles will finish
higher than the overrated Yanks!) and since then Ricciardi has gotten:
A.J. Burnett (RHP), 3B Troy Glaus and 1B Lyle Overbay, too. They
increased the payroll from around $45/mil (Canadian or US?) TO ABOUT
$75/MIL! This will be the Jays best year since winning the MLB
Championship Pennant, back-to-back in '92 & '93.
Red Sox Preview:
Key players to watch this season (oh well, they lost that hairball,
what's his name to those dam Yanks, but they still will finish higher
than the Bronx strikeout Kings, this time!); CF Coco Crisp (where's
Sugar Frosted Flakes?), LF Frank Catalanotto (sp?), 3B Melvin Mora
(how'd he get a hungarian name?!), C Jason Varitek, Pitching: RHP Curt
(Bloody sox) Schilling (or is it now Euro?), RHP Josh Beckett, RHP Jon
Papelbon. The Sox did enough to stay in the hunt in the offseason and
have power hitting but do they have the LHP closer they need? Come to
think of it, what about releivers? Manager Terry Francona will still
find a way to bedevil (the D'Rays, too?) the Yanks and their
dysfunctional egomaniacs. Predicted Finish second, but playoffs for
sure.
Orioles Preview:
Manager: Sam Perlozzo (1st Year). Players to watch: LF Kevin Millar,
LHP Bruce Chen, SS Miguel Tejada, [OF Sammy (Cork Bat) Sosa has
retired a la Kevin Feterik], C Ramon Hernandez, LHP Erik Bedard, RF
Jay Gibbons. Much has to go right for the Orioles and will this year
as the O's break their eight straight losing seasons (A la the L.A.
Clippers of the NBA. New Manager Perlozzo must skipper these misfits
out of the gates quickly to get the jump on the slow starting Yanks
and prepetually in-a-Funk D'Ray. The Yanks HAVE TOO MUCH Talent (and
too many egos and) will fade in the stretch to about 77-80 wins this
time. Time is what the O's are buying and for once it'll work -
barely. Perlozzo for Manager of the Year? Could Be.
Yankees Preview:
Time to Cry, George! This time not even your fat wallet will save
these crybabies from a fourth place finish and losing season!
Players to watch for shattered egos this year: CF Johnny Damon (Q.A.F
my eye!), SS Derek Jeter (no more bad commercials, eh?), Manager
Joe Torre, now the Man among Amer. League Managers with 11 years
at the helm...), The Yanks hitting will do them in this year
'cause their Pitching is on last legs. Am I sad to see them fall?
Don't even ask. I'll have a bar-b-Q!
D'Rays Preview:
Even I, Rich 'Moose' Salzer must live in a world of Reality and
admit THAT as much AS I would love to see them Finish ahead of
the jerks in pinstripes, it ain't gonna happen - this year. Poor
Manager Joe Madden (no, not the one that plays for those other
D's, in New Jersey in the NHL...)! fIRS sEASON AT燭HE HELM and
Tampa should win their usual 66-67 games. Players to watch (if
you can stand it, Tampa...):SS Juilo Lugo, LF Carl Crawford, 2B
Jorge Cantu (brother playing in NFL E, where he probably will
rather be later this summer!), LHP Casey Fossum, Chesapeake's
B.J. Upton (probably will wish he's back here, too), LHP Scott
Kazmir and RHP Doug Waechter, whos' dad got Chicago's last two
points in the Super Bowl XX win over the New England Patriots.
Predicted Finish: Last in the American League and especially the
East Division.
Central:
Predicted Order of Finish: (1) Minnesota, (2) Chicago W.S., (3) Kansas City,?4)
Cleveland, (5) Detroit (is it too late to bring back Ontario's
Sparky Anderson?)
Twinkies
Preview: Minnesota, will resurrect the memory of the now
late Kirby Puckett with their first Division win since they
last won the Pennant. Manager Ron Gardenhire got cheapskate
G.M. Terry Ryan to spent a lot of dough and for once the
Twins didn't get a bunch of hasbeens who's best years are
vehind them! Ex-Edmonton Eskimo CFL RB Torii Hunter, who
also did a stint in that other Pro Football League that ends
in '...FL', WILL GIVE THEM BASESTEALING AND other
intangibles that they lacked in a 83-79 season last year.
Not that last year was a bad season for the inside-the-Dome
guys. Far from it. Look for LF Shannon Stewart, 1B Justin
Morneau, Chesapeake, VA's Michael Cuddyer (RHP), 3B Tony
Batista and Johan Santana (16-7 last year) to have career
years. It'll give them just enough to get by the Defending
Champ White Sox, who will also make the playoffs and best
the Twinkies in seven!
White Sox
Preview: Manager - Ozzie (The Oz) Guillen. Key
Returning Players: LF Scott Podsednik, C A.J. Pierzynski,
LHP Mark Buehle, RHP Jose Contreras and SS Juan Irbe. The
W.Sox are loaded and will again be the best Pro Baseball
team in Chi-Town (sorry Scott [Cubs] Baxter). Resigning
Paul Konerko was huge and will pay dividends, if he stays
healthy. Reserves Alex Cintron and Rob Mackowiak could be
major players for Guillen's bunch down the stretch too.
Expect them to chase the Twinkies all year but catch and
pass them when the chips are on the line come playoff
time. Another World Series Appearance is not that far
fetched but another win is something else we'll have to
wait for in October. Mahalo and Aloha!
Royals
Preview: Manager, Buddy Bell, second Year. Losers no
more, but they have really paid for that '85 World
Series win over the crossstate Missouri Saint Louis
Cards. Even with verable George Brett still in thr front
office as part owner (poor guy!) and in management, this
team has been accused of playing the cheapskate role the
last, oh say, two decades. This will change this year
with several key moves; RF Reggie Sanders and 1B Doug
Mientkiewicz and resigning many key vets. There's no way
they can tail off like last year's 56-106 season, but
don't expect 106-56 either. With Cleveland and Detroit
on the snide and with CF Dave DeJesus, 2B Mark
Grudzielanek, RHP Denny Bautista and RHP Scott Elarton
coming into their own, these guys will win 83-87 games
and have a rare winning season. They better, to save
Bell, an ex-Royal player's Managerial career! Predicted
Finish: Third.
Indians Preview: Manager, Eric燱edg(i)e, third
season. Goodbye Eric, it nice knowing you my friend.
As the band the Doors used to sing, "This is the End,
My Olny Friend, The End..." and other such positive
tunes (sorry Eric Piatkowski, Bulls). CF Grady
Sizemore, RHP Jason Johnson, LF Jason Michaels, 2b
Ronnie Belliard make up most of the best talent here,
and despite last year's miracle 93 win season, without
going after any REAL GOOD free agent vets, it'll be
more like 73-79 wins this time around. The Royals are
much improved and Gardenhire's Twins look by the
smallest of margins to be the team to beat in '06 -
Until the Playoffs.
Tigers Preview: Welcome Back (not Kotter!),
Manager Jim Leyland. It won't be pretty. The days of
Alan Tramell, et, al are long gone! With nearly one
third of the schedule v. the Defending Champ White
Sox, Twinkies and Cleveland, who seems to have these
guys number, this could be a 66-70 win season and
probalby will be. The rotation (Kenny Rogers, the
cameraman slugger, from Roger (?) Clemens Texas,
Jeremy Bonderman,Mike Maroth) and solid hitters here
and there in the lineup: Carlos Guillen, Craig
Monroe and Placido Polanco, there's just enough to
stay competitive and Leyland is a solid Manager. But
he'll probably wish he stayed retired!
West Division Predictions:
(1) Texas, if Roger Clemens signs [which will make
MykAussie cringe, but I'd love it!]. If not,
Seattle (2), (3) The Angels, wherever they play
(screw it! I'm still gonna call them California
Angels!), (4) Oakland (Where's Charley Finley when
you need him?)
Rangers Preview: Hate to put so much on a
43-yr.-old P, but dam it, it's? The Rocket'!
Seriously, Manager Buck Showalter (formerly of
the Diamondbacks) still has plenty of
talent爃ere; Pitchers include: RH Kevin Millwood,
RH Vincente Padilla, RH燢ameron Loe and RH Adam
Eaton. Did we forget any RH's? How about some
Lefty's? Is Steve Carlton still in that bunker
in Utah? Batters who should make a lot of noise
this year include: SS Michael Young, 3B Hank
Blaylock, RF Kevin (He's a) Mensch, 1B Mark
Teixeira. They upgraded their 2B's with the爐rade
of Soriano to the Washington Nationalists, but
not enough on the Offence but the 'D' of Ian
Kinsler (Oklahoma 'AAA') and Sone Figgins of New
Mexico St (51's, minors). If this team can get
(Clemens!) and oof to fast start, Seattle and
the other two will cahse them all season
Predicted Finish: The playoffs as either燦o. 1 or
2!牋
Mariners Preview: After ranking 22nd in
MLB in runs and 26th in homers (not Simpson!),
the M's got Serious in the off-season and
brought in some fine hitters including: DH
Carl Everett, C Kenji Johnjima (Japanese
League homer-leader last year) and Matt
Lawson. Now if Manager Mike Hargrove's
pitching holds up, Ichiro Suzuki (who's cousin
plays in Af2 Footy) and LHP Jamie Moyer will
get the help they need. Sorry guys, no
playoffs this year unless Texas falter. No
worries about the Angles (who can't make up
their minds on what their name is and) the
Athletics, who aren't very so anymore.
California Angels ("Los Angeles of
Anaheim"!) Preview: Manager Mike
Scioscia, seventh year爄s about to run out of
bullets and bring a knife to a gun fight, as
the old saying goes. Gone are: RHP Jarrod
Washburn, and C Bengie Molina. The hitters
will lead the Majors in strikeouts, but the
wiffs will keep the L.A./Anaheim/Cali fans
(whatever they call themselves) cool.
Manager Scioscia (the hardest name in sports
to spell right with all them S's) will be
pretty steamed as his double-minded owner
screws things up again. Kiss the 95-67 mark
goodbye, Vlad Guerrero, Bartolo Colon and
Kelvin Escobar. Predicted Finish: Third and
out of the Playoffs.
Athletics Prediction: Sorry to do
this to Oakland Pro Sports fans. Let's
see; their bullpen is full of
Bull-you-know-what, their rotation sucks
and their hitting is pretty bad. But other
than that, their in good shape . As the
Golden State Warriors season comes to it's
dreary close after a very promising start,
they now have to cheer for these loveable
losers! Then there will be the 8-8-0 Da
Raidahs in the 'what's-it-called', FL.
Where is Charley O. Finley when you need
him. They may have the worst record in
Major League Baseball this year, but could
on Tampa Bay's D-Ray's to pull Defeat from
the jaws of victory, like Peyton Manning
does for the Indy Kings, er, ah Colts
every year in the playoffs. What's the
excuse this time Peyton?, er, ah, A's?
Predicted Finish: 60 wins.?" Moose

Baseball Classic but with a Huge controversy! Canada defeats the USA, Wow! "
Myk Aussie
Korea defeated the USA 7 to 3! Wow
this is not good for the USA. I can't believe the USA haven't sorted out their
logo/emblem yet? Against Korea they still had them stitched on the wrong way.
Why couldn't they get a few ladies with scissors and cotton and needle to
unstitch them and sew them back on? This is baffling me Big time! More below on
this.
Tues March 14th. What a great time we had up here
in Canada celebrating and laughing last week when Canada a country of
approximately 30 million people defeated the USA a country of approx 260 million
in the World Baseball Championships. Baseball is now USA's #2 sport behind the NFL,
wow a great win by Canada possibly one of the best wins ever in Canadian sport!
Unfortunately Canada did not advance to Round 2 even though they has 2 wins and
1 loss like the USA. Way to go Canada guys!
The USA flag logo was stitched on
inside out on all of their uniforms! Sunday night I got to watch the replay of the
great game yesterday between the USA and Japan. What was with the USA flag logo
being stitched on inside out and thus the flag was back to front on all of their
uniforms? That was bizarre and maybe a punishment to the players for being
beaten by Canada. How could someone or more than one person be so stupid to
stitch them on inside out. It was a embarrassment to the USA and a hot topic on
ESPN radio yesterday in the USA!
It was great to watch many star
MLBers in action for the USA last night including Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez,
Vernon Wells etc. The
Japanese were off to a 3-1 lead, the USA then tied it up at 3-3. A huge
controversy then occurred when a Japanese player was denied the 4th run as he
was ruled to have left 3rd base to soon. Watching the reply initially I agreed
that he did leave to soon but then watching it several times more I agree with
the commentators and it should have been a run to the Japanese and a 4-3 lead.
The USA then went on to win in the
9th innings with the highest paid Baseball player in the World Yankees "A Rod"
Alex Rodriguez hitting a single and the USA getting a home run. Wow! What a
great game but what huge controversy in this great new event!

Dominican Republic defeated Cuba 7 to 3." Myk Aussie
