Edmonton has reacquired Kelvin Kinney from the Toronto Argos for 'past'
considerations. Seems it's not as easy for the big fella to play in two
different leagues during a claender year as he has with the Arena Football
in the U.S. the last couple of years & the CFL. Pinball didn't think big Kel
had enough energy after the Championship season with the Tampa Bay Storm in
Hockey-Football so he dealt him back to Edmonton. This bodes well for the Esks.
If anyone seriously doubted the Ottawa Renegades were in trouble, check this
out. They released 1st-string RB Darren Davis, the perennial 100-yd'r from the
Riders. That's three starters the 'Gades unloaded to cut salaries down since the
season opened. 1st it was RB Mark (the brute from Beirut) Nohra, who is doing
well for B.C., then it was starting QB Dan Crowley, who is easily better than
the ..."edit Moose calm down," Myk they have now except for
Darnell Kennedy! & now D.D. Darren has been picked up by the
Tiger-cats, currently of Hamilton.
You can bet when I go to Hamilton next month, I'll talk to him & get the

sent me another N.L.L Update that proves boy-owner Brad Watters is in trouble.

Coach Higgins has waited for this special day while Lawrence Phillips is all fit, fired up & ready to go.
Mike's been having a few chats to Bill Romanowski this week & reckons he can star as a Linebacker for this special day. Mike Pringle the Champion CFL Running Back formerly of the Alouettes will sit back & "Line up" Lawrence his ex not Team mate.
Now wouldn't be be good to see!!!!!!! Nuffy you coming or you still crying ?

"Joe Kapp &
Willie Fleming!" Moose Salzer
One of our faithful readers, contributors on Total-CFL recently asked for any
information on Willie Fleming & Joe Kapp after hearing Joe on the radio in
Canada recently. Here goes: Willie Fleming was one of the best B.C. Lions &
best overall CFL RBs in the league's history. He spent his entire nine season
career with the Lions. Kapp played four yrs. with the Lions & four yrs. more
with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. When Coach Bud Grant, a former three sport star
(NBA/NFL/CFL) moved across the border from Winnipeg to Myk's Minnesota in 1967
he took Kapp w/ him. However Winnipeg still held the option yr. on his contract.
So the Vikings traded a FB named Young (who is now in the CFL Hall of Fame!) to
Winnipeg from the rights to Kapp. It remains the only trade between the NFL
& CFL! Kapp played three seasons w/ the Vikings taking them to Super Bowl
four in Jan. 1970.
Kapp & the Vikings were crushed by the Kansas City Chiefs, 23-7. It would be
the 1st of four Viking Super Bowl losses in 7 yrs. The Super Bowl would
sometimes be called "Grant's tomb". Kapp left the Vikings for a hefty
raise to play in the new AFC w/ the New England (formerly Boston) Patriots in
1970. The Patriots were a bad team & Kapp took a tremendous beating that
year. He retired before the Patriots mini-camp in '71. They would draft Jim
Plunkett at QB that year. from Stanford. He would later lead the Raiders to two
Super Bowl wins in the early 80's. Kapp took many movie roles after the stint w/
the Patriots, many with Football themes (Longest Yard, Semi- Tough, North Dallas
Forty, etc.)
Kapp gave football one more try as a player in 1974-75 with the World Football
League started by Toronto's Johnny Bassett & California's Gary Davidson. The
league lasted 1.5 seasons, folding on Oct. 22nd, 1975. Kapp 'played part' of
both seasons.
Kapp had many broadcasting & coaching jobs with colleges but got back into
Pro Football once more in '92 as H. Coach of the Sacramento Attack of the Arena
Football League. It was good to hear someone on our Total-CFL mention Joe at

Footscray in the AFL in Melbourne nearly did it but the Western blue class suburb people rallied big time & saved their team in the early 90's. Footscray now the Western Bulldogs had some great years after that.
I would like to see TO people, Argo's & Tiger-Cats people take to the streets, TV, radio, newspapers in a campaign "Save the Argo's, CFL is great! Come on you NFLer's support the Argos."
Several TO people have told me in business they are the centre of the universe. Well now as Canadians is the time to prove that you have a great city. Concerts are OK but CFL is Canadian. Now I am a Landed
Immigrant & thus Canadian!
I was at a Labor game Tiger-Cats vs Argo's at Ivor Wynne 2 years ago. It was a great time & a great rivalry. The Box J Boys especially are legends & some of my favorite CFLers!
Or how's this one on TV in TO & Hamilton "I've come all the way from Australia to watch the CFL! Get off the couch come to the Skydome & watch the CFL." Then TSN etc could go to some of my many, many great video highlights of fun at CFL games. I know I have the best & funniest CFL Fan, cheerleader & player action ever!!!!!
I also know that I have felt star status incredibly wearing my hat in TO. After being on OTR & City TV Breakfast Show, The Fan with Hoagie & The Team radio many TO people that I didn't know
me at all recognized me & have been fantastic. This includes Cwoc's, of course!!!
TO sports people show for once you are really Canadians & don't suck up to the USA with sport ?????? This statement is obviously not directed to any TO CFLers on Total-CFL.com or that support the Argos in some way."

I have been saying that
for the last five yrs. (ever since the NFL raped that last great TO. team of
Flutie, Kisalak, Vanderjagt, Givens, et, al, the Argos & Tiger-cats should
be merged into the Ontario Argo-cats or Ontario Tiger-argos or some such name.
Then add the Halifax Hawks or Maritime Schooners or Quebec City Nordiques. The
CFL needs to be made into a 10 team league, 5 teams in the East & 5 in the
West A.S.A.P. The MOMENTUM will not continue in an upward spike into next yr.
& beyond. Spencer's post today was excellent about the idiot that wants the
CFL to become a 4 down league. Bleep that! The Yale Rules of 1906
institutionalized the Amer. style forever (Has anyone ever heard of the Skull
& Bones click @ Yale? "W" belonged to it & look where that got
U S!)
If the CFL had a 10 team league, 5 East & 5 West think about how much money
they could save on travel. The schedule now is ridiculous & brutal fro teams
playing in an 18 schedule to have to play two games in a 5 day span. Then w/ 9
teams everyone still has a bye week (isn't that NFLish enough?). I am considered
the Don Cherry of U S CFL fans for one main reason.
Keep the CFL Canadian - therefore play it the right way - The Canadian way!

It was great to be
asked on Kumo Hawaii radio last night with Super Bowl Wayne, Randy & Moose.
We talked lots of CFL including Renegades coach Joe Paopao the former Uni of
Hawaii Warriors Offensive coach, Damon Allen, Dave Dickenson, Mooses mate
Lawrence Phillips & John Avery.
The host Super Bowl Wayne says the football mad Hawaii audience love Moose &
I talking CFL especially talking about the former Uni Of Hawaii Warrior players
& coaches now in the CFL. I told the Hawaii listeners how we have many
former & future NFLers up here, it's a great game 3 downs instead of 4, less
time between snaps & a wider field.
I also said hopefully the CFL will arrange TV deals so that all of the US footy
mad fans can watch CFL especially the 1st 3/4 of the season when NFL has not
started.

#2 - It's interesting to hear my mate Myk say Kelvin Anderson had "a
medicore 1,000 yd season" Yet when we were on Honolulu's KUMU 2 /a.m. 1500
Fri. night he said his guy L. Phillips "had a great season" last
year...HHHMMMM...That's interesting considering Phillips walked out "CWOC
Hunting" as Myk put it, twice last season & was even demoted to 3rd
string @ one point 'til both my man Mike Pringle & Eric LaPointe both went
down w/ injuries & Thomas Haskins had to be moved over to RB from SB.
#3 - I consider Phillips to have had "a mediocre 1,000 yd season" last
year
as he has failed w/ every team he's ever been on in 4 different leagues, has
never thrown a block or caught a pass in his life! I just didn't want to embarrass
Myk Aussie on Honolulu Radio. But his ears should have been burning when he went
of the air. Phillips is mediocre, always will be & Kelvin Anderson will be
in the CFL Hall of Fame in about 7 or 8 yrs. Mediocre 1,000 yd seasons not

Grey Cup time. The 2nd series will be out after the Grey Cup but should be out
by Christmas 2003.
In European news, my man from Deuschland, Holger Korber sent me 12 issues of
Huddle Magazin the other day & in one issue is the list of teams that play
3-down, 12-man Canadian football on rugby pitches in Germany, France &
Austria. They are the Aix-en-Provence Argonauts, the La Coumeuve Roughriders,
the Cannes Tiger-cats, the Asniernes Eskimos, the Saint Queen Alouettes, the
Amiens Lions, the Hannover Stampeders & the Rostock Blue Bombers. Wow. CFL-style
club footy in Europe. Mercy Boucoups!

Mark my words, Hamilton will quit losing soon. They aren't as bad as their

there are too many XFL guys stirring the pot. Whoever's bright idea it was to

back in May that I had missed. It was basically a warning about Fan Web pages.
Folkes, mykaussie.com is more like a TV station. What we post, though it my get
heated w/ some likes & dislikes form time to time, is factual...Whether Myk
likes the Lakers or I love my Clippers, for example is beside the point. There
is no sports webTV site/page out there that gives you as much as mykaussie.com/Friends

The CFL, USA" mates & other CFL lovers. I just got back from Montreal.
I walked into the Alouettes offices on St. Catherine St. (yes I was there during
the WTO protest, in fact the protesters broke the windows in the GAP store and
the Burger King that are near the corner of Crescent and St. Catherine's one
hour before I got there) and inquired about the loge box rental. I
was wearing my Baltimore CFL gear so that was a topic of conversation so much so
that after spending 15 minutes discussing the options, the head sales manager
went down the hall and brought in Skip Prince the President and CEO of the
Alouettes we ended up talking sports for another 20 minutes.
Here's the info on the loge boxes: They have some individual boxes available for
the following games: SEPT 21, OCT 5, OCT 26. I do not have the
locations of those boxes (whether they are high up on the north side stands or
in the east end
zone). They hold 8 people and have waitress service and a TV for
replays (all the Als games are on the French language RDS network).
My best day would be the OCT 5 game (1pm vs. EDM)
If you have an interest in a weekend in Montreal and the box rental, please let
me know. The renovations at Molson Stadium were noticeable particularly the
lighting was much better; rest rooms and concession stands were expanded and a
new press box on the north side was added to the top of the stadium. Game
was not as close as the score indicated. Gifts stands have an Anthony Calvillo
bobblehead with him holding Le Coupe Grey. A guy has them on EBAY for
$30.00 US but you can get them at the stadium (or through their gift shop) for
