Defenders with NFL Europe League experience shine in NFL Week 16 action!" Myk Aussie

Below you will find another awesome NFL Europe player based NFL report from Neil. Merry Christmas to Neil & all the NFL Europe guys that I met at Super Bowl XXXVII"

Many Thanks Neil Reynolds Public Relations Manager NFL Europe Defensive stars shine bright in NFL Week 16; Pro Bowler Glover helps Cowboys into playoffs DEFENSIVE players with NFL Europe League experience made a number of big plays in NFL Week 16 action as the 2003 season reached a critical stage. Leading the way was Pro Bowl defensive tackle LA'ROI GLOVER (Barcelona Dragons), who helped the Dallas Cowboys reach the playoffs for the first time since the 1999 campaign. Glover recorded 3 tackles and a quarterback sack during the 19-3 defeat of the New York Giants. Capping a week in which he secured a fourth consecutive Pro Bowl selection, Glover said: "I think we've turned it up here in the last two games. We know we have a better defense than we've shown. We took it upon ourselves to step it up and I think we've done that. "But we know we're not done yet - we still have a lot of work to do."

A trio of defenders helped the Denver Broncos into the playoffs with a 31-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts as linebacker DONNIE SPRAGAN (Amsterdam 2001), and defensive backs KELLY HERNDON (Barcelona 2000) and NICK FERGUSON (Rhein 1999-2000) made key contributions. Spragan recorded 5 tackles and recovered a Peyton Manning fumble. Ferguson chipped in with 4 tackles, while Herndon added 1 stop. Another defender to produce an outstanding display - this time in a losing cause - was linebacker NATE WAYNE (Barcelona 1999), who recorded 7 tackles and a sack during the Philadelphia Eagles' 31-28 overtime loss at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. Running back JAMAL ROBERTSON (Rhein 2002) gained 39 yards on 4 runs for the Niners.

The Baltimore Ravens are one win away from clinching the AFC North crown and were helped by several NFLEL veterans during their 35-0 thrashing of the Cleveland Browns. Defensive end MARQUES DOUGLAS (Rhein 2000) recorded 6 tackles, while defensive tackle KELLY GREGG (Rhein 2001) added 3 takedowns. Defensive end JAY WILLIAMS (Amsterdam 1996) recorded a sack during the Miami Dolphins 20-3 victory over the Buffalo Bills, while quarterback JAY FIEDLER (Amsterdam 1997) fired a 23-yard scoring strike to wide receiver Chris Chambers. Victory was not enough to prevent Miami crashing out of the AFC playoff race.

Quarterback JAKE DELHOMME (Amsterdam 1998/Frankfurt 1999) kept the Carolina Panthers on a winning track as they head into the playoffs as champions of the NFC South Division. Delhomme completed 83 percent of his passes for 260 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Panthers ran out 20-14 winners over the Detroit Lions. Despite their victory, the 10-5 Panthers will still have to play in the first round of the playoffs on the weekend of January 3-4. Three quarterbacks who found themselves on the losing end of games in Week 16 were BRAD JOHNSON (London 1995), TIM HASSELBECK (Berlin 2002) and JON KITNA (Barcelona 1997). Johnson and his defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell out of the playoff race when they were beaten 30-28 by the Atlanta Falcons. During the loss, Johnson completed 34 of 48 passes for 346 yards and 4 touchdowns. Wide receiver BRIAN FINNERAN (Barcelona 1999) got on the scoresheet for the Falcons when he caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Michael Vick. Hasselbeck completed 16 of 25 passes for 209 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Washington Redskins but it was not enough to stop the NFC East strugglers falling to a 27-24 defeat against the Chicago Bears.

Kitna and the Cincinnati Bengals saw their playoff dreams dented when they were beaten 27-10 by the Rams in St. Louis. Kitna threw for 202 yards and a touchdown but was picked off three times. The Bengals now need to beat Cleveland in the final week of the regular season and hope the Ravens lose at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Other Week 16 Results Kansas City 20 Minnesota 45; New England 21 New York Jets 16; New Orleans 19 Jacksonville 20; Tennessee 27 Houston 24; San Diego 24 Pittsburgh 40; Arizona 10 Seattle 28.

NFL Europe League quarterbacks victorious in NFL Week 15 action Many Thanks Neil Reynolds Public Relations Manager NFL Europe NFLEL quarterbacks grab crucial wins in Week 15; Kitna, Delhomme and Johnson celebrate victories WITH the 2003 NFL season reaching a critical stage, JAKE DELHOMME, JON KITNA and BRAD JOHNSON led their respective teams to victory from the quarterback position on Sunday. Delhomme (Amsterdam 1998/Frankfurt 1999) threw for 236 yards and fired a 31-yard touchdown pass to running back DeShaun Foster as the Carolina Panthers clinched the NFC South Division and a place in the playoffs with a 20-17 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. In the game's waning moments, Delhomme led the Panthers to a John Kasay field goal with just four seconds remaining.

It marked the eighth time this season Delhomme has led Carolina to a victory in the final two minutes of the game. Kitna (Barcelona 1997) helped move the Cincinnati Bengals back into first place in the AFC North Division with a 41-38 defeat of the San Francisco 49ers - the team that beat the Bengals in their only two Super Bowl appearances. The former World Bowl MVP threw touchdown passes to wide receivers Chad Johnson and Peter Warrick as the Bengals ensured they would not have a losing season under first-year head coach Marvin Lewis. Johnson (London 1995) helped the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers stay alive in the NFC playoff race with a 16-3 win over the Houston Texans. Johnson completed 17 of 28 attempts for 237 yards, while running back AARON STECKER (Scotland 2000) rushed for 17 yards on five carries. Defensive tackle CHARTRIC DARBY (Barcelona 2000) was a key member of a Tampa Bay defence that kept Houston out of the end zone, recording 2 tackles and a quarterback sack.

In Denver, the wild card-chasing Broncos recorded a pulsating 23-20 overtime victory against the Cleveland Browns. Helping running back Clinton Portis gain 139 yards and two touchdowns in the game were veteran NFLEL offensive linemen BEN HAMILTON (Berlin 2002) and MATT LEPSIS (Barcelona 1998). Denver also relied on strong showings from their NFL Europe-seasoned defenders. Linebacker DONNIE SPRAGAN (Amsterdam 2001) led the team with 6 tackles, while defensive backs NICK FERGUSON (Rhein 1999-2000) and KELLY HERNDON (Barcelona 2000) each recorded 2 tackles. The Broncos cannot catch the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West after Dick Vermeil's club clinched the division title with a 45-17 thrashing of the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

DANTE HALL (Scotland 2001) set up a Kansas City touchdown with a 49-yard kickoff return and ended the day with 126 all-purpose yards. Wide receiver BILL SCHROEDER (Rhein 1997) caught 3 passes for 23 yards for the Lions, who lost on the road for an NFL record 23rd time. Also clinching a division title in Week 15 were the St. Louis Rams, who were 27-22 winners over the Seattle Seahawks. Wide receiver DANE LOOKER (Berlin 2002) caught 3 passes for 30 yards during the victory. Other NFL Week 15 Scores Pittsburgh Steelers 0 New York Jets 6; Jacksonville Jaguars 13 New England Patriots 27; Atlanta Falcons 7 Indianapolis Colts 38; Minnesota Vikings 10 Chicago Bears 13; Buffalo Bills 26 Tennessee Titans 28; Baltimore Ravens 12 Oakland Raiders 20; Green Bay Packers 38 San Diego Chargers 21; Dallas Cowboys 27 Washington Redskins 0; New York Giants 7 New Orleans Saints 45.

Mon Dec 8, 03 "Former Fire WR Marcus Robinson guides Baltimore Ravens to top of the AFC North Division. A great NFL report below!" Myk

Many Thanks Neil Reynolds Public Relations Manager NFL Europe.

Robinson helps Ravens to top of AFC North; NFLEL veterans star in Broncos-Chiefs shootout FOR the sixth time in the past three games, wide receiver MARCUS ROBINSON (Rhein 1998) caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Anthony Wright, guiding the Baltimore Ravens to the top of the AFC North Division with a 31-13 defeat of the Cincinnati Bengals. Robinson, who won a World Bowl ring with the Fire during his spell in NFL Europe, led Baltimore with 4 receptions for 44 yards and capped a 70-yard second quarter scoring drive by finding the end zone from 8 yards out. AFC Offensive Player of the Month for November, JON KITNA (Barcelona 1997) could not lead the Bengals to another victory from his quarterback position. Kitna completed 23 of 31 attempts for 214 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted twice.

Ravens defensive end MARQUES DOUGLAS (Rhein 2000) made 6 tackles on defense, while defensive tackle KELLY GREGG (Rhein 2001) chipped in with 4 stops. In the Denver Broncos' 45-27 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, a host of NFL Europe League veterans on both teams played key roles. Broncos defensive backs NICK FERGUSON (Rhein 1999-2000) and KELLY HERNDON (Barcelona 2000) each had 5 tackles, while linebacker DONNIE SPRAGAN (Amsterdam 2001) made 7 stops. Kansas City livewire DANTE HALL (Scotland 2001) caught 11 passes for 124 yards and averaged 26.2 yards per kickoff return, including a 61-yard return that set up a touchdown that gave the Chiefs a 24-17 lead at the half.

Despite their loss in Denver, the Chiefs qualified for the AFC playoffs, as did the New England Patriots with a 12-0 defeat of the Miami Dolphins. With 28 inches of snow piled around the field at Gillette Stadium, ADAM VINATIERI (Amsterdam 1996) kicked a 29-yard field goal for the Patriots, while defensive end BOBBY HAMILTON (Amsterdam 1995-96) made 2 tackles in New England's second shut out victory of the past four weeks. JAY FIEDLER (Amsterdam 1997) completed 13 of 31 passes for Miami and was picked off twice. In the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles booked a berth in the playoffs with a 36-10 hammering of the Dallas Cowboys. Kicker DAVID AKERS (Berlin 1999) converted 4 field goals and 4 extra points during the contest that was close at the half before the Eagles reeled off 26 unanswered points.

Linebackers NATE WAYNE (Barcelona 1999) and KEITH ADAMS (Berlin 2002) each made 2 stops on defense for the Eagles. Despite their inconsistent form this season, the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers remain in the playoff race following Sunday's 14-7 defeat of the New Orleans Saints. Quarterback BRAD JOHNSON (London 1995) completed 20 of 34 passes for 213 yards and fired 2 touchdown passes, including a 1-yard strike to defensive tackle-turned tight end Warren Sapp. Another NFLEL quarterback to fare well in Week 14 was TIM HASSELBECK (Berlin 2002), who led the Washington Redskins to a 20-7 victory over the New York Giants. In his second NFL start, Hasselbeck completed 13 of 19 passes for 154 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The World Bowl X winner threw touchdown strikes to wide receivers Darnerian McCants and Rod Gardner. In San Francisco, 2002 NFLEL Offensive MVP JAMAL ROBERTSON (Rhein 2002) saw extended action in the backfield as the 49ers inflicted a 50-14 beating on the Arizona Cardinals. Robertson carried 8 times for 46 yards. On Sunday evening, wide receiver BRIAN FINNERAN (Barcelona 1999) caught 3 passes for 47 yards as the Atlanta Falcons recorded a 20-14 overtime win against the slumping Carolina Panthers. Other NFL Week 14 Scores Seattle Seahawks 7 Minnesota Vikings 34; Houston Texans 0 Jacksonville Jaguars 27; Chicago Bears 21 Green Bay Packers 34; San Diego Chargers 14 Detroit Lions 7; Cincinnati Bengals 13 Baltimore Ravens 31; Indianapolis Colts 29 Tennessee Titans 27; Oakland Raiders 7 Pittsburgh Steelers 27; New York Jets 6 Buffalo Bills 17.

"Another great NFL report talking mainly about the NFL Europe players from Neil. Awesome!" Myk Aussie

Thurs Dec 4, 03 "Four live NFL Week 14 games to air on European TV this weekend! A great NFL report below!" Myk Aussie

Many Thanks Neil Reynolds Public Relations Manager NFL Europe.

Four live NFL Week 14 games to air on European TV this weekend Many Thanks Neil Reynolds Public Relations Manager NFL Europe Playoff contenders clash in exciting NFL Week 14 action; Fans in UK to witness first start of 2003 for Falcons' Vick FOUR weeks left to play in the 2003 regular season. Four weeks to realise a dream and make the NFL playoffs or a critical time when hopes can be shattered and a team is left to rue a missed opportunity for what can be long and painful months in the off-season. For the playoff contenders, every game is critical between now and the end of the regular season on December 28. And the contests don't come much bigger than in Week 14, when the four games being screened live on European television will feature teams harbouring serious post-season ambitions.

Two of the games see the first and second-placed teams in the AFC South and AFC East facing off as the Indianapolis Colts visit the Tennessee Titans and the New England Patriots play host to the Miami Dolphins. Also on Sunday, the Carolina Panthers will aim to maintain their playoff charge against the Atlanta Falcons, while Monday night action sees the NFC West-leading St. Louis Rams take on the Cleveland Browns. The action begins in the AFC South on Sunday December 7 as a pair of 9-3 teams - the Colts and Titans battle for what could essentially turn out to be the division title. The game can be seen live on Sky Sports Xtra in the UK, Premiere Sport 2 in Germany and Canal Plus Deporte 2 in Spain. Kickoff is at 6:00 p.m. GMT/7:00 p.m. CET. Something has to give when the Dolphins visit the Patriots later on Sunday. Miami trails New England by two games with four to play in the AFC East but has the best road record in the NFL (5-1). However, the Patriots are a perfect 5-0 at home this year and are on course for a first round bye in the playoffs.

The action from Gillette Stadium can be seen on Sky Sports Xtra in the UK, Premiere Sport 2 in Germany and Sportmania in Spain. Kickoff is at 9:15 p.m. GMT/10:15 p.m. CET. In the final game to be played on Sunday, British fans will see MICHAEL VICK make his first start of the year as the Falcons play host to the NFC South-leading Panthers. Vick has yet to start a game this season due to a broken leg suffered in August. Kickoff is at 1:30 a.m. in the early hours of Monday December 8 and will air on Channel Five. Relishing the chance to start against the Panthers, Vick said: "My leg feels great and I'm looking forward to getting back out there. It's going to be exciting - it's an opportunity for me to start at home, where my season was ended for the most part. I want to show everyone I'm back and helping my team." The Rams-Browns clash will air live on Premiere Sport 1 in Germany and Canal Plus Deporte 3 in Spain. Kickoff is at 3:00 a.m. CET in early hours of Tuesday December 9. Many Thanks Neil Reynolds Public Relations Manager NFL Europe.

Kitna and Bengals maintain winning course; Robinson scores again for points-happy Ravens FORMER World Bowl-winning quarterback JON KITNA (Barcelona 1997) continued his outstanding form as he led the Cincinnati Bengals to a 24-20 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in NFL Week 13 action on Sunday. Kitna threw for 271 yards on 18 completions and fired three touchdown passes, including a game-winner to tight end Matt Schobel with just 13 seconds remaining. The victory kept the Bengals on top of the AFC North Division with a 7-5 record and increased their winning streak to four games. In Cincinnati's seven wins this season, Kitna has thrown 18 touchdown passes compared to just one interception.

Cincinnati's division challengers - the Baltimore Ravens - scored more than 40 points for the second week in a row as they ran out 44-6 winners against the San Francisco 49ers. The Ravens were helped by several NFLEL veterans. Leading the way was wide receiver MARCUS ROBINSON (Rhein 1998), who caught 2 passes for 71 yards and scored on a 38-yard reception from quarterback Anthony Wright. Robinson has now scored five touchdowns in his past two outings. Baltimore's defence was in fine form with defensive tackle KELLY GREGG (Rhein 2001) recording 6 tackles and defensive end MARQUES DOUGLAS (Rhein 2000) adding 3 stops.

Another former Rhein Fire defender - Denver Broncos safety NICK FERGUSON (Rhein 1999-2000) - enjoyed an excellent Sunday as his team recorded a 22-8 win over the Oakland Raiders. Ferguson made 7 tackles and forced a fumble in the one-sided victory. KELLY HERNDON (Barcelona 2000) made 6 stops and recovered a fumble, while DONNIE SPRAGAN (Amsterdam 2001) chipped in with 7 tackles for the Broncos. TIM HASSELBECK (Berlin 2002) became the 25th former NFLEL quarterback to start in the NFL as he lined up under center during the Washington Redskins 24-20 loss at the hands of the New Orleans Saints. Hasselbeck completed 22 of 42 passes for 231 yards but also had an interception and a fumble.

Three other NFL Europe League veterans started at quarterback in Week 13 and wound up on the losing side. KELLY HOLCOMB (Barcelona 1996) could not stop the Cleveland Browns falling to a 34-7 defeat at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks, BRAD JOHNSON (London 1995) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were 17-10 losers to the Jacksonville Jaguars, while the Carolina Panthers - led by JAKE DELHOMME (Amsterdam 1998/Frankfurt 1999) fell to the Philadelphia Eagles. Kicker DAVID AKERS (Berlin 1999) booted four field goals for the Eagles as they won for the seventh game in a row by a 25-16 scoreline. The Eagles now have the best record in the NFC after losing their opening two games of the year. The other NFC team with a 9-3 mark is the St. Louis Rams, who were 48-17 winners over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Wide receiver DANE LOOKER (Berlin 2002) played a key role for the Rams as he caught a 41-yard pass from fellow wideout Isaac Bruce.

The best record in the NFL still belongs to the 11-1 Kansas City Chiefs, who were aided by several NFLEL veterans during their 28-24 defeat of the San Diego Chargers. Kick returner DANTE HALL (Scotland 2001) had 90 yards on returns, providing the Chiefs with good field position at crucial times. Linebacker GARY STILLS (Frankfurt 2001) recovered a fumble for Kansas City. Other NFL Week 13 Scores Green Bay Packers 14 Detroit Lions 22; Miami Dolphins 40 Dallas Cowboys 21; Atlanta Falcons 13 Houston Texans 17; Arizona Cardinals 3 Chicago Bears 28; Buffalo Bills 24 New York Giants 7.
