From Tues Sept 14. The Cowboys let me down in week 1 betting! Washington Redskins defeat Dallas Cowboys 13-7!
This is the loss that really annoyed me. Why would I trust the Cowboys? It appeared the Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and coaches didn't trust their "banged up" offensive line, in the first half he threw very quickly on many occasions.
The forced fumble by Cowboys running back Tashard Choice resulted in a Redskins touchdown with seconds remaining in the 2nd quarter. This was a unnecessary play that in the end cost them the game. I was impressed with Cowboys controversial 1st Round Draft Pick wide receiver Dez Bryant while their star wide receiver from last year Miles Austin had a great game, 10 receptions for 146 yards and a touchdown. A great win for the Redskins in front of a massive home crowd.
From Sat Sept 11. Cowboys vs Redskins in Washington. Cowboys favored –3.5 on Sportsinteraction.com.
I haven’t always been a fan of the Cowboys but that’s changed over the last few years, especially since Aussie punter Mat McBriar, the Pro Bowler, started playing for them. Yeh yeh, I know, who cares about punters? Well I do and there are three Aussies right now punting in the NFL! And several other punters now use the Australian Rules Football end over end “Drop Punt” kick for greater accuracy.
These 3 Aussie punters in the NFL will tackle and hit too, no problem. Washington, hmmm as a Broncos Mike Shanahan and Donovan McNabb fan I’m hoping they have a good year but Albert Haynesworth? What a big rich cry baby he is! A disgraceful performance by Albert, through and through. I hope Mike kicks him out as he must have been a massive distraction this season to date. I believe Dallas should win this game by 7-21. $5 on the Cowboys at –3.5 on Sportsinteraction.com.

Wow! This was big. I was lucky to get through and on his show yesterday and
I talked about the time I tried to hunt down and interview Brett
Favre. Refer below March 4 report on NFL webWORLD
Click

I also talked about the Denver Broncos along with
saying NFL is the equal best game in the World along with Aussie Rules Football.
I talked about how Darren Bennett changed the NFL the way NFL punters now punt
using the Aussie Rules Footy drop punt when they need to land the ball inside
the 20 yard line. I also talked about Aussies Mat McBriar, Ben Graham and Sav
Rocca currently punting in the NFL along with how the Pittsburg Steelers punter
Daniel Sepulveda who is from the USA learnt and
effectively uses the Aussie drop punt.
I
believe Jim Rome has about 5 million listeners daily. He is the biggest sports
radio guy in USA with his show going to many USA markets. Many places in Canada
also carry his daily 3 hour sports radio show. I met Jim Rome at the Super Bowl
Media centres in 03 and 04 and thus I believe this is a reason why I got through
and thus got on his very popular sports radio show yesterday. Next time I need
to slow down a bit and realize that the large USA audience is not used to my
Aussie accent. I tend to get very excitable and passionate when I talk sports on
USA and CDN radio especially when I talk about Aussie Rules Footy.
I just
subscribed to his online pod cast to re listen and I was on for 3 minutes
without him interrupting at all. He bagged me a bit after the 3 minutes
saying "I didn't understand Myk, I heard about Brett Favre and Darren
Bennett." but then he said "No Myk I did understand you. That was Myk for
3, 5, 8 minutes however long that was and yes we do see Myk down at Super

I honestly
think that Tony Romo did a great job as a actor in last Sundays game. He
played terrible in the 1st half and then the whole game with his new babe

hurt his finger on his throwing hand but I believe it was already hurt

06 "Moose's Cowboys 06 preview! Lots of NFL MYKwebTV!" Myk
From Moose "Dallas
Cowboys, 47th season. An NFL record 8 Super Bowl appearances, 5 wins. 40
winning seasons, fourth highest in League history. 2005 Record: 9-7-0.
Coach: Bill 'Tuna' Parcells. QBs: Drew Bledsoe, Drew Henson, H-2QB Tony
Romo's Place for Ribs. Other Key Players: LBs Akin Ayodele, Bobby
Carpenter [not the hockey player!], FS Marcus Coleman, OT Jason Fabini,
DE Jason Hatcher, OG Kyle Moser, Alltime Pro Football's most accurate K
Mike Vanderjagt (CFL/Ar.FL), RBs Marion Barber, Julius Jones and TE Jason
Witten (Scotland NFLE).
After missing the playoffs for the first time under Bill Parcells, the
Cowboys got radical in the offseason and signed Peck's latest Badboy, WR
Terell (I hate Jeff Garcia/Donovan McNabb) Owens. Won't that be a happy
reunion when the Igles (w/both Jeff and Donovan as no. 1&2 pivots) meet
up in Big 'D' with HIS Mouthyness! Won't wanna mis that one. Seriously,
it'll be between Philly and Dallas for the division title w/ Washington
and it's Canadian imports (RB Jessie Lumsden and FB/H-B-TE Mike Sellers)
and all it's injuries fighting for second (or third) place and a wildcard
spot. The G-Man are already out fo the running and will finish last. In
evaluating the 'Boys for 2006 all one has to know is that this Dallas
team really didn't necessarily need Owens but in the off-season,
controversial Owner Jerry (Face/Lift) Jones just couldn't resist the
temptation to try and do what the 49ers and Eagles couldn't do; reign in
T.O. It'll be a struggle and Tuna WILL out, but Owens will replace the
'other guy', who just flew the coop, Keyshawn Johnson who went to a team
that looks Super Bowl ready from this Conference, the Carolina Panthers.
The signings of lightning rod players like T.O. can either make or break
teams. Not
with a Parcell Coached team. It's a non-sequitor.
With a very good Offencive Line, even without Larry Allen, a sure
Hall-of-Famer, Dallas is well stocked (Marc Colombo, Matt Taurilo, Flo
Adams) they just got stronger with draft pick Moser and vet Fabini, who
has played for Parcells w/ two other teams. They open the wholes for
solid running backs Jones and Barber. Other Receivers include: J.R.
Toliver, Pat Crayton, Jaimaca Rector and Terry Glenn and she's still
pretty potent herself! Witten is a Pro Bowl TE and on Defence the only
loss was LB Scott Fujita, who flew to the Big Easy w/ Coach Sean 'Arenaball'
Payton. The D-Line is loaded with: Chris Canty, a stud from VA, Kenyon
Coleman, Greg Ellis and Marcus Spears. More depth would help down the
stretch. The LBing is still solid with coverage specialist Kevin Burnett
and hard-hitting tackles like: Ryan Fowler, Rocky Boiman, and rookie
Ayodele. The secondary is the third best in the Conference with CBs Aaron
Glenn, Roy Williams and two more Williams's that are no relation.
Ss to watch for are Willie Pile, from Alex., VA and Jacques Reeves, who
can also play CB and vet Terrance Newman who is still hurting. Depth is
no problem nor is versatility here. Special Teams added a big name in
Vanderjagt who has won two Grey Cups and one ArenaBowl and only needs a
Super Bowl ring to complete the Pro Football Hat Trick. (It won't happen
this year...pls. read on.) Coverage took a bit of a hit when ST'r Dat
Nguyen hung it up last Thanksgiving...and Fujita moved on. Returns will
be the province of Newman and Terry Cooper. Outlook: The 'Boys will win
10 games regardless of what Owens does or doesn't do. After all he's only
the 20th or so best WR in Pro Football. He'll never be the same player he
was a couple years ago and running his mouth won't get it done on the
field. He's not
as good as Marvin Harrison, Santana Moss, Chad Johnson or even Joe
Jurivicious but he'll help here, some with Keyshawn gone.
Problem is Carolina has blown 'D' out two out three times in a row in
playoff meetings and will do so again this playoff season and Keyshawn
plays for Carolina! Now that's an interesting story. Really, it's
Carolina's (or New England's!) Super Bowl to lose and the 'Boys are just
a year late and a (qb? another WR? A DE?) short. It'll be fun run though.
Thanks Coach Parcells for the memories. But you hung on one team too many
as the best Coach in this Era. First NFC (L) East, one playoff win
then usual steamroll job by Panthers.” Moose

March 20 06 "Terrell Owens a Cowboy. Wow that seems Bizarre! His former
Mate Jeff Garcia a Eagle!" Myk Aussie
Terrell Owens a
Cowboy! It has happened Terrell Owens has signed with the Dallas
Cowboys a 3 year contract that includes a $5 million signing bonus. To
me Dallas seemed like the last place TO was going to go to. Why?
Remember when Terrell was a 49er and the famous run he did after
scoring a touchdown to the middle of the field to slam the ball down
onto the Dallas Star! Cowboys players then swarmed on him in anger and
rightly so. I thought it was very funny.
Then there is legend Cowboys Coach Bill Parcells. The Tuna they call
him who has been quite successful the past couple of years with the
Cowboys. To me it seemed like Bill would not want Terrell at the team
he is coaching. I bet nearly every NFL fan will be watching keenly to
see how long it takes for Terrell to screw up. I think he will go maybe
nearly a year, can't see him lasting the 3 years though. But hey I wish
he signed with the Broncos.
Terrell's former Mate Jeff Garcia! I met both Terrell Owens and
Jeff Garcia who were out and about at the Pro Bowl. Mike Morreale the
CFL Hamilton Tiger Cat player was with both of them and Mike introduced
me to both Terrell and Jeff at the great Beach Bar in Honolulu that
some of the players hang out at during Pro Bowl week. So they used to

The ‘Boys are taking

From
NFL Media
PHILADELPHIA
EAGLES (7-1) at DALLAS COWBOYS (3-5) (Monday night, ABC, 9:00 PM ET):
A throw-out-the-records division battle. It’s Cowboys-Eagles…Parcells
vs. Reid…T.O. on MNF.
Philly
had defeated Dallas six times in a row before Cowboys head coach BILL
PARCELLS returned to the NFL last year. The teams split in ’03, and
Parcells carries a 7-2 record as Cowboys coach against the NFC East into
the game. Eagles head man ANDY REID has his own proud numbers.
Philadelphia is 13-1 on Monday nights under him, and he owns a 17-6
(.739) November record.
The
Cowboys will have their hands full with Philadelphia’s DONOVAN MC NABB-TERRELL
OWENS combination. McNabb is 12-1 in primetime in his career. Owens has
caught at least one TD pass in his past six Monday games, tying JERRY
RICE for the best such streak in Monday Night Football history.
It
is so cool to be the only Aussie that has regularly reported on the NFL

Coach:
Bill Parcells - 2nd season with Cowboys - 148-106-1 overall (11-7 in
playoffs)
2003
record - 10-6 (Lost in 1st round of playoffs to Carolina 29-10)
2003
review - The Cowboys were supposed to be in a rebuilding phase under
Bill Parcells. Instead the Cowboys overachieved and made the playoffs
for the first time since 1999, and their first winning season since
1998. Much of the success is the defense which ranked number 1 overall
in the NFL. Their rush defense allowed only 89.1 yards a game. Parcells
somehow did it with smoke and mirrors as their quarterback, Quincy
Carter, threw more interceptions (21) than touchdowns (17), and a
running back that did not rush for a 1000 yards, and averaged 3.5 yards
a carry, plus the inexperience and consistency of their corners, most
notably Mario Edwards, who was picked on the latter half of the season.
The lack of offense caught up to the Cowboys for their time of possession
became less and less as defenses game planned against Quincy Carter. Carolina
won handily in the playoff game against the 'Boys 29-10, as Dallas was
overmatched in about every phase of the contest. However, Parcells
brought back the winning image of the Cowboys, something that was
lacking since Jimmy Johnson left the Cowboys after their second Super
Bowl victory. Jerry Jones stayed behind the scenes after 7 plus years of
being the GM and de facto coach of the Cowboys.
Additions:
Marcellus Wiley, Vinny Testaverde, Drew Henson (R), Julius Jones (R),
Eddie George, Keyshawn Johnson, Chad Eaton
Subtractions:
Quincy Carter (Jets), Mario Edwards (Bucs), Troy Hambrick (Cardinals),
Joey Galloway (Bucs), Ebenezer Ekuban (Browns)
2004
outlook: The Cowboys in preseason released Quincy Carter after a
2nd failed drug test . Parcells stated that he could not trust
Quincy Carter anymore, and had to release him (funny, he did not have
that same attitude with Lawrence Taylor. Carter was not productive
enough to justify keeping him and his baggage). It leaves the Cowboys
with a 40 year old quarterback and 2 inexperienced quarterbacks in
Drew Henson and Tony Romo. The running game was awful with
Troy Hambrick who fumbled 4 times, ran for 3.5 yards a carry (league
avg. is 4.0), and was benched a couple of times by Parcells. He also did
not hit the hole with speed and quickness, and now he has been
replaced by two running backs, Julius Jones, a 2nd round pick of
this year, and Eddie George, the longtime Tennessee Titan running back.
If Vinny regains some of the form from his career year in 1998, the
Cowboys will be playoff contenders.
Question
Marks: Quarterback
- Vinny Testaverde was supposed to be insurance for Quincy
Carter. Well, times change. Vinny is now the starting quarterback
with Drew Henson as the backup. Henson last threw a pass at
the University of Michigan in 2001. Since then, he became a bust
with the New York Yankees in baseball. The Cowboys are hoping that
Henson does not become a bust in 2 sports, and he becomes the
quarterback of the future. Tony Romo, who Parcells likes, has looked
good in both NFL Europe and preseason. However, as said before, it is
the success of Vinny that will make or break the Cowboys in 2004.
Running
Back - This is a question mark in the sense of these two questions: A.
How good is Julius Jones? and B. How much does Eddie George has left in
his tank? Jones was a 2nd round pick from Notre Dame, and resurrected
his career after being suspended for the 2002 season. His speed and
cutback ability reminds Parcells of a young Curtis Martin. George is
nothing short of a warrior. He took every down, took every hit, and was
productive for about 5 years. Last year George averaged 3.3 yards a
carry, the lowest in the NFL who rushed for over 1000 yards in 2003.
George's upright style has definitely taken its toll over the years.
However, he will be used to get the tough 1or 2 yards needed in the red
zone or for a first down. Richie Anderson is their best all purpose back
(their best receiver with 69 catches in '03), and a back that Parcells
loves to use in situations. It is a question mark, but it is an
improvement from last year.
Strengths:
Coach - Bill Parcells
changed the status of the Cowboys from recent dormats (5-11 the previous
3 years under then coach Dave Campo) to playoff contenders. He did
it with no nonsense discipline and results which players respect. To me,
it was one of the best coaching jobs of all time, next to when he turned
the New York Jets from 1-15 in 1996 under Richie Kotite to 9-7 in
1997. He keeps it simple, but does it with hard work. Players would run
through fire in a gasoline suit for him.
Defense
- A bit overrated, but they were number one in the league in 03. It did
wear down at the end of the year due to the ineffective offense for
the 'Boys. Marcellus Wiley will bring a steady edge rusher,
and will move Greg Ellis, who had 8.5 sacks last year to
the right side of the line. Dat Nyguen (pronounced "win")
performed at a Pro Bowl level in 03 when he had 121
tackles and 2 sacks. He, Dexter Coakley and veteran Al Singleton
are a solid linebacker corps.
Left
Side of the Offensive Line - Flozell Adams played real well at left
tackle in 03 and Larry Allen is coming back to his Hall of Fame form at
left guard after almost being traded to Oakland on draft day. Allen, not
one of Parcells favorites, is in better football shape and has had a
great training camp so far.
Weaknesses:
Punting/Kicking - Parcells'
biggest thing is field position. Toby Gowin had less than a 40 yard
average, and he was woefully inconsistent at the end of
the year, almost to the point of being cut before the playoffs. Aussie
strongleg Mat McBriar will handle the punting duties this year.
Billy Cundiff had a solid 2003 showing, but he is being challenged
by the inconsistent former Giant Matt Bryant. The Cowboys do
not have an X-factor type return man, but they have former Jet and
Patriot Dedric Ward to handle the kickoff and punt returns. If McBriar
is solid, it will help the defense a lot.

Right
Side of Offensive Line - Right Tackle is a concern for Dallas.
They will play one of three players the whole season. It will
probably not be settled until the middle of the year at best.
Cornerback
- Terrence Newman had a very good rookie season, led the team in
interceptions. He is considered one of the best in the NFL already.
The other corner position is up in the air. Mario Edwards was
getting torched and flagged from being torched, but now he is in Tampa.
So far, the competition has not produced a clear cut starter opposite
Newman. Darren Woodson, great veteran for Dallas, is out for at least 1
game while recovering from back surgery. It would be a major concern and
weekness if Newman and All-Pro Roy Williams get hurt.
2004
prediction: They may go 6-10, may go 11-5 and win the division. I
would lean towards the 6-10 mark if Parcells does not coach this
team. Parcells teams in the past do better in his second season.
They will contend for the wild card, but will fall just short at 9-7.
However, with Parcells, I could be way, way wrong on this one. Everyone
(including me), except Dallas fans, were way off in '03." Scott

Dallas,
NFC East(?), Team's alltime record: 344 wins, 228 losses, 6
ties. Coach; Bill Parcells. QBs: Vinny Testeverde, Drew Henson, Ray
Lucas, Tony Romo (I thought that was a rib joint?).
The
Cowboys and their scouts need to slow down with Henson, comparing him
to Troy Aikman and Roger Staubach as Dallas' best ever already! But
it is good that all three of their QBs gave up thoughts about Baseball!
The new acquisitions to
factor in are: G DeMingo Graham, who almost got Doug Flutie and Drew
Brees killed the last two season at San Diego, WR Keyshawn {Cry-baby-"Throw
me the damn ball} Johnson, who the Buccs were glad to
be rid of!, DE Marcellus Wiley, who like Graham is from San Diego and
replaces the overrated Ebenezer Ekuban, who name sounds like a combo
of Scrooge meets Shaft in Africa! Unless Vinny has anything left
in the tank, this team could be in trouble! I see the Cowboys did the
right thing in picking up me and Myk's buddy Mat McBriar from the Univ.
of Hawai'i.

Moose's report contd... It could be a long season in big 'D' for the Tuna
who almost already
went a round with one of the WRs who threw a jersey at
the original Jersey tough guy, who calmly threw it right back and said,
"I've got one good fight left in me, is it with you?" Last
season Parcells showed he was still the MAN in the NFC (L)East.
Predicted order of finish: Third in NFC East behind Philadelphia and
the New Jersey Nuclear
Swamp Giants, if they use either Kurt Warner or
Jesse Palmer at QB. 8-7-1" Moose
