In the first part of the season
They thought they could go all the way
They had Blair and White and Feterik
They had Crandell and Alondra J
The plan was in place, they would win the Grey Cup
There was not…any doubt
They would pass and run and score the points
Win it all…in a rout

I’ve been watching this season, but the horse got no game
There are those that think this team is lame
In Calgary, they might just turn to the Flames

After two games they were not doing well
The fans began to turn red
In the third game, they beat Ottawa

Mon Aug 18, 03 "I chat to Wally, Dave, Eric, Cameron, Mark, Duncan & Sig! Renegades vs Riders report! Riders mascot Gainer the Gopher nearly began a riot when he dragged the effigy of a Renegades player in front of the Ottawa defensive line during a break in the fourth quarter! " Myk Aussie

As Jerry Nuffy leaves early again in major disappointment I enjoy chatting with Dr Zoom & others in the End Zone. Some of my many highlights of the Big BC Lions win was chatting to one of the Stamps officials & hearing some interesting stories. Chatting to longtime Stamps legend Mark McLaughlin after the game. Meeting Wally Buono as he jumped on the bus after the game. "Wally did you get the fax I sent you this week" "Yes Myk I got that, thanks" was Wally's response with a Big Big smile on his face! This was in reference to Calgary marketing of the game saying "Here Kitty Kitty" as posted on Total-CFL.com 

I also met Dave Dickenson for the 2nd time "Myk Aussie I gave your business card to Darren Bennett at The Chargers." Thanks Dave & great your now at me BC Lions! I met & interviewed Darren again at this years Super Bowl. Good luck for the rest of the year Dave.

"Yes Myk I remember you from Vancouver & Regina games last year" Eric Carter, I again told Eric that he is one of my very favorite CFL Players. 

So as I headed off to Mooses Jason Clermont & Steve Buratto were both sitting on the bus munching on big salad rolls & Steve was reading with interest one of the 1,000 or so leaflets that I handed out all about Total-CFL.com & MYKwebWORLD.

So off to Mooses I go! Wow again a great time "Duncan have you watched my movies yet?" "Myk I watched the newest one, I  loved Football Fan Frenzy 2" "Duncan you should watch "Football Fan Frenzy 1" as only 10 minutes from "FFF2" will make the final edit of "FFF1". "Alright Myk, & yes I did punt way to much in the game at your Pammy's BC Place last week." Duncan "Crazy Kicker" O'Mahony

And wait for it a definite highlight of the night at Mooses for several Calgary reasons was "Myk Aussie come with me & join us on our table" Sig Gutsche, former Stampeder owner. So as I sit with Sig & Mark & some beautiful Cwoc's (Cool Women Of Canada) I had a great time. Sig's lady said she enjoyed immensely my calls to Mark Steven's at QR77 & she especially enjoyed my MAD Cow story. The people I get to meet is amazing! A great great night!" Myk Aussie

By RENEGADES COMMUNICATIONS RENEGADES LOSE SHOOTOUT ON THE PRAIRIE

REGINA – What began as a promising afternoon for the Ottawa Renegades ended as yet another tough and disappointing loss. Despite scoring a team record 41 points in one game (including 21 in the first quarter), the Renegades (3-7-0) ended up allowing 51 points to the Saskatchewan Roughriders (6-3-0) on Sunday at Taylor Field.

Leading 21-8 after the opening quarter and 25-16 at halftime, the Renegades were in position to score a second win over the Roughriders this month. But Saskatchewan took control in the third quarter, scoring a whopping 28 points, the greatest amount of points allowed by a Renegades team in one quarter. The damage began on the kickoff to begin the second half when Kevin Nickerson returned the ball 96 yards for a touchdown. From there, Saskatchewan took control.

Kenton Keith scored on a 33-yard run to give Saskatchewan a 30-26 advantage, its first lead of the game. Corey Holmes, back in the line-up for the Roughriders, followed with an 87-yard punt return touchdown. And on the final play of the third, Roughriders running back Chris Szarka dove in from the one-yard line on a third-down gamble to give Saskatchewan a 44-26 lead.

Keith added another touchdown early in the fourth to give Saskatchewan a 25-point lead. The Renegades added late touchdowns by Josh Ranek on a 19-yard run and Sherrod Gideon on a 50-yard reception from quarterback Romaro Miller who played most of the fourth quarter in place of starting quarterback Kerry Joseph.

The Renegades allowed touchdowns on offence, special teams and defense for the first time in franchise history. Saskatchewan got an interception return touchdown from Jackie Mitchell who stepped in front of a Joseph pass and ran for 51 yards for a major.

Ottawa built an early lead using a strong running game featuring Ranek. Joseph scored the first two touchdowns on one-yard plunges. He later hooked up with D.J. Flick on a 37-yard catch-and-run play on the final play of the first quarter. The loss overshadowed fine efforts by some Renegades. Ranek continued to run the ball well, finishing with 123 yards on 18 carries. It was his second 100-yard game of his Renegades and CFL career.

On defense, defensive lineman Keaton Cromartie played one of his finest games in a Renegades uniform, recording four tackles and three sacks, the first time any player has managed three sacks in any game involving the Renegades. Jerome Haywood and Roger Dunbrack also had sacks for Ottawa. The loss was the second straight for the Renegades who return to Ottawa from a Prairie road trip on Monday.

The 92 points by both teams sets a Renegades franchise record scored by both teams in one game … Receiver Demetris Bendross suffered bruised ribs on a punt return late in the fourth quarter but should be ready for the game against Montreal … Bendross was the target of abuse from Saskatchewan fans the entire game. Bendross, who left Saskatchewan last season, was derided by Roughriders fans every time he touched the ball … 

Saskatchewan mascot Gainer the Gopher nearly began a riot when he dragged the effigy of a Renegades player in front of the Ottawa defensive line during a break in the fourth quarter … Attendance on a hot (30 C) and windy day at Taylor Field was 26,772 … Receiver D.J. Flick led the Renegades with eight catches for 107 yards. The eight catches matches a team record set by Jimmy Oliver last October against Montreal … Saskatchewan did not commit one turnover during Sunday’s game … The Roughriders had 368 return yards, while Ottawa managed 227.

You have a Recruiting guy who will only bring XFL guys. As nice as Mr. Barker seems, I don't think he is capable of righting this replica of a football team. Lastly, you do not have a quarterback until Crandell gets back. You were to cheap to bring in a good quarterback and now we see the results. Starting now, get rid of your GM and coach.

About time Riders broke the jinx! Riders had not won at Stampeder Park since 89! For awhile there last night I thought they were still jinxed bit our QB threw some interceptions & Riders win.

What a great night it was! I 100% felt like I was at a true CFL game last night with all the wild Green & White Rider fans! Out of 34,000 there must have been 10,000+ Riders unbelievable, when Riders scored or had a big play these 10,000+ made as much or more nice as the approx. 24,000 Stamps fans!

I met lots of great Rider fans! It was a shame I don't Total-CFLwebTV & MYKwebTV currently at CFL in Calgary! Sorry Rider fans for not filming you in your great outfits!

Fri Aug 1, 03 "Jerry Nuffy's take on tonights big clash here in Stampeder Town as the Green Riders come to town with their 10,000's of fans!" Myk Aussie

"As I arrive at the Gym at 6AM I am thinking about tonight's game against the Sask Riders. Now that I am at work I can visualize all those crazy Rider fans dressed so silly and yelling so loud. I'm almost scared. At 6PM I will meet Myk Aussie at Nick's Steakhouse and we will have a steak sandwich and some Kokanees. As we talk to the regulars the evening takes on a new meaning-HOPE. 

After Nick's we will venture across the street to the stadium and visit the tailgate parties. Grant Painter has the best one there. Now we will wait for the arrival of Mr. Feterik and Mrs. Fateri. They will try to console the tailgaters with more b.s. Nobody listens and we have more Molsons. 

After this visit we enter the Stadium to watch the warmup. Milanovich looks great connecting to all his receivers, unfortunately there isn't a defense on the field. We stand next to the Red and White club as we can meet some of the old timers and read the expression on their frightened faces. As the game starts we go for beers and HOPE. 

It was a close game for the 1st Quarter then it was all downhill for our Stamps. After the game we visit with the players at Moose Mcguire's and have more beers. The ladies are plentiful and everyone is disappointed. Later, we take a cab downtown and the rest is history. I wake up Saturday morning and wonder who won the game. I turn on Sportsnet and the score reads Sask 37 Calgary 27. After a great night it wasn't a dream." Jerry Nuffy, Total-CFLer
