NFL Week 16 report - from Moose
"Another fantastic performance by Baltimore RB Jamal (Jam) Lewis.
       Best Christmas wishes,
Holidays, etc. to the surviving members of Brett Favre's family after the
       loss of his father
Irv yesterday. You can bet Brett won't lose the two remaining games as
       the Pack get
back to the playoffs. I've defended stupid remarks of some players
       before, and I do
like Warren Sapp but my respect of him is about nil now, after Saturday's
       locker room
antics after the Fal-Cons beat the Buc's and ended there season. If I
       were Jon Gruden,
knowing that Sapp wasn't coming back, I'd deactivate him for the game
       this Sunday, as
the Buc's hope to win the last game of the season. Use a younger guy
       who's less
 spoiled!

Also, trouble-makers Joe Horn and Terrell (overrated) Owens had season
       ending
injuries yesterday - irony of ironies! IT DOES come back on you now don't
       it? A tale of two
Canadians {Also posted on the Total-CFL discussion board that Myk and I
       own} ...Good
day yesterday for Jerome Pathon but not a good second outing in a row for
       our mate
J.J. Palmer. 'They would be Giants may be tempted to start ex-Ottawa
       Roughrenegade
Jason (Brian) Garrett in the midgets last game of the year. Speaking of
       QB changes, the
word out of my sources in the Bolts camp is that EVEN stubborn Marty
       Schottenheimer
is getting darn mad at Brew Drees ability to pull victory form the jaws
       of defeat like he
did yesterday in PittsburghSteel-town. Doug Flutie, "probably"
       will start Marty's final game
oaching the Chargers this weekend. After all they are only playing
       Oafland and that's
probably going to be Bill Callahan (Gruden's revenge) last game coaching
       Da Raidahs.

More coaches to go: Washington's coach Ball game - to Miami, Miami's Dave
       Wannstedt
back to a defencive Coor's job in Arizona, where former Offensive
       Coordinator Jim
Fassel will be Birdbrain Bidwell's latest crash-test-dummy. Other
       changes: Gregg Williams
out @ Buffalo and Ted Cottrel or Romeo Crenell in to put up with senile
       owner Ralph
Wilson, another Doug Flutie hater. Former Jax boss Tom Coughlin in with
       'They would
be Giants' and Dave McGinnis, Dan Snyder's new whipping boy in
       Washington, District
of Criminals, once Wayne (Shula-hater) Hizenga buys coach Ballgame's
       remaining contract
from Danny boy, awaiting League approval of course.

New Orlean's Jim Haslett, who's players love will be totally safe
providing the Ain't's win over Allas this weekend. Whoops, I was the
thinking of the NBA's Avericks'! An 8-8 will satisfy owner Tom
Benson(boogie) who seems more worried about his Arena League team getting
off to a fast start in the race for Arena Bowl XVIII, starting this Feb.
'04. Maybe Brooks or mistake prone Kordell
Stewart, who is from N'Awlins anyway, can QB that team to an Arena Bowl
       win. 'Cause
they sure won't win any Super Bowl's. Neither will Colts Manning, who
       sis, er, ah brah
might be drafted by Cards. Peyton-place lost another crucial game
       yesterday in Indy
 v. Myk's Broncs.

How does DJenkens and co. stand that inconsistent guy? And how could my
buddy Scott pick HIM League M.V.P?!?! I still love ya though, scottie...
Nashvegas may have to start ancient Neil (N)o'Donell v. Tampa this
weekend and I KNOW THERE'S NO WAY THE SUPER BOWL CHAMPS WILL NOT FINISH
THE SEASON 8-8. Hint- hint! Tenn. should rest the LEAGUE'S REAL M.V.P,
Steve (Iron) McNair next Sun. anyway. Sorry, Dave Carr. I wasn't
impressed with your NON PHONE CALL YESTERDAY.
Besides you guys lost (again). I think Carr, who probably would have been
       fourth-string
at the University of Hawai'i several years ago behind Nick Rolovich,
       Shawn Withy-Allen
and TIm Chang might just scrape by and be a decent NFL QB after all. He's
       no Jake
Delhomme, but....Speaking of the Cajan Snake, he was spectacular
       yesterday completing
29 of 36 passes in the Panthers win. This team is a dark horse to go to
       the Bowl for the
 weak NFC.

Stick Parcells 'Boys with a fork. They are done. They won't win again
       until fall of '04. I still think Philadelphia v. K.C in Houston-town,
Feb. '04 but don't count out Tennessee (though I think they'd lose big!)
or New England v. Carolina. I'm a homer and my man from Virginia Beach,
John Fox is better than Parcells in intangibles and gambles. And I'd take
Jake over Quincy 9 out of 10 times! Besides, where's Ray Lucas. He's not
active and hasn't played yet? I expect him on the playoff roster and then
he might call it a career. Scott is right, Parcell's is very good but the
'Pokes are the worst team in
the NFC playoffs by this (") much...

 Thurs Dec 18, 03 "NFL
Update...Otto Graham ex-Cleveland and Baltimore QB dies at 82"
       Moose Salzer

"Otto Graham died at age 82 yesterday in Sarasota Florida. He
started in Pro Football in 1946 in the newly formed All American Football
Conference (AAFC). In 1948 he went to the new Baltimore Colts (no
relation to the 1953 NFL Colts) in the expansion draft but came back to
Cleveland to lead them to the 1948 AAFC title. The Browns won all 4 AAFC
titles. The four remaining teams; Colts, 49ers, Browns and L.A. Dons were
absorbed into the NFL in 1950. Graham played with the Browns through the
 1955 season.

The Browns played in 10 straight Championships winning six (4 in the AAFC
and two more in the NFL). Graham, who played Offence and Defence in the
AAFC wore number #60 with the Browns and number #64 with the original
Colts. He wore #14 with the Browns from 1950-55. Graham passed for 23,584
yards in both Pro Leagues. His record as a starter was 105-17-4. He later
coached Washington to a 17-23-3 mark in three seasons (1964-66) in the
       60's. Condolences to the
Graham family during the holidays season." Moose

 NFL Week 15 Notes -
"Congratulations to Virginia Beach's John Fox and the Carolina
Panthers for winning the NFC South title. Well done Jake "Cajan
Snake' Delhomme and company. See, Steve Spurrier, you never should have
gotten rid of a quality RB like Steve Davis! And speaking of Washington,
I thing my buddy Scott Baxter is probably ready to throw chairs after
their dismal performance yesterday, getting blown out at home to an above
average team like Dallas. Daylight come and you've "gotta Delhomme".
My buddy Michael Lewis, former Arena League star, who I met along with
Boomer Esiason in San Diego at the Super Bowl, who plays KR/WR for the
New Orlean Saints did well last night and unfortunately it didn't go good
for young Canadian pivot Jesse Jay Palmer and 'they would be Giants' in
the Big Easy. Giants P Jeff Feagles has an NFL leading streak of 254
consecutive starts going. Way to go F. eagles.

Tennesee's Billy Volek did well in his first NFL start beating Drew
Bledsoe and the Bills. Last week I said it would be pure folly for the
Falcons to use Wade (four-time reject) Phillips as H.Coach this week and
I was right as the Foul-Cons were crushed by the somewhat overrated Indy
Colts, dbjenkins to the contrary. Marty Schottenheimer should be fired as
soon as the season is over for purposely
watering down the lineup going with mistake-prone Brew Drees at QB over
Doug (champ) Flutieball. I knew if the Bolts started Brees he would find
a way to lose. Serves them right! If Marty thinks he can get the Chargers
into position to have a better draft pick by watering down the lineup
(Cory Raymer, pleeeeze!), he must think his job is a lock by reputation
alone. Remember Alex Spanos, his record in the playoffs is only
       5-12!
 The
only guy who played well for the Deadskins yesterday was Bryan (Phantom
of the Opera) Barker, who not only didn't break his nose this time
against Dallas but also completed his 1st career pass for 3 yards, which
is about as much as Tim Hasselback had. Maybe Andy Reid choose the right
backups after all (But I wouldn't want either of the Detmer sisters!)
Speaking of weak arms, How about another great performance by the Texans
Dave (Ragarm) Ragone, who can't throw the ball more that 35 yards. Why
couldn't the Texans have drafted Shawn (Cannonarm) Withy-Allen of Hawai'i
last spring? Maybe Charlie Caserly should HAVE BEEN working for Bobby
Mitchell! How about that underrated St. Lugi 'D' with my man, former
University of Hawai'i LB Pisa (Mad Dog) Tinoisamoa (it means 'tiny samoan'
in Hawai'i dialectic but he ain't!). Will be on the air with my buddies:
Ran da man Myamoto, John Miro and Scott Ka'alele in the 50th state this

Compliments of nflmedia. Carolina Panthers running back STEPHEN DAVIS has
rushed for a career-high seven 100-yard games in 2003. If he can reach
the century mark against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, he will achieve
       yet another milestone.

Davis has topped 100 yards in each of his previous six games against
Arizona, all as a member of the Washington Redskins, and needs 100 on
Sunday to tie TERRELL DAVIS for the longest streak of 100-yard rushing
games against a single opponent since 1970.

Terrell Davis rushed for 100 yards in seven games in a row against the
Seattle Seahawks, including a 208-yard effort on October 11, 1998.
Stephen Davis rushed for a career-high 189 yards against the Cardinals on
       December 12, 1999.

        Clinton
Portis what a star he has been in his 25 games with the Denver Broncos
yesterday his best ever with 5 TD's. Clinton & the Bronco's were
sensational as they hammered the front runners of the NFL the Kansas City
Chiefs. Broncos are now a real chance for the playoffs, their offence is
again going great & our defense is rated 2nd in the NFL. Go Bronco's!
        49er
star QB Jeff Garcia was back yesterday with a big game 6 TD's against the
       Cardinals, 4 passing TD's & 2 running TD's. Michael Vick the
superstar Atlanta Falcons QB Wow! He played in his 1st full game of the

 Week 14 Notes -
Dave (Rag-arm) Ragone, the weakest lefty this side of Kevin Feterik, did
as expected with his 71-yd performance v. Jax two days ago. Houston needs
a healthy Dave Carr more than I realized. Big decision in Jets camp this
week on starting QB choice. I say give Jamie Martin one more try! Just
kidding! Ex-Arena League players doing well this past weekend include
Mike Vanderjagt (Colts), Kevin Swayne (Jets), Reggie Swinton (Lions),
Oronde Gadsden (Dolphins), Jay Feely (Falcons) and Dave Akers (Eagles).
Ex-CFL'r's stylin' in NFL this weekend included: Vanderjagt, Swinton, Red
Garcia (47ers), Marc Boerigter, Trent Green & R-Kal Truluck (all of
Chefs); Derreck Armstrong (which is what the Texans need at QB right
       now.

Even Dave Carr would be an improvement.), Joe Horn and Willie Whitehead
of 'Aint's & of course Doug Flutieball at San Diego. Marty
Schottenheimer may scrape by for another year as Bolts Coach if he makes
the right QB decision next year. Let Flutes play out the string and let 'em
battle it out in camp next summer, probably Flutie's last in his 20th Pro
season. Yea, so Bruce (Nighthawks owner) Smith is OFFICIALLY the NFL's
leading career sacker. I still say those 33.5 by Reggie White in the USFL
count, too. But I still think it's Deacon Jones. His deal is like Bill
Russell, the great ex-Celtic Centre's. Bill really is the best
Shot-blocker in NBA history even though the league didn't start counting
that stat OFFICIALLY until 1972. Change gears - I have the most
intelligent reading audience in the cyberspce so we can change in a
second and keep up with each other. Gotta give it to Mykaussie's boy
       Peyton.

Finally in his sixth year in the NFL he won a big game at QB on the road.
Big win for Coach Tony Dungy, one of the NFL's (too) nice guys. Won't dbjenkin@aol.com
be happy? He criticized me but good about my 6-10 prediction for the Indy
horses this yr. and I'm man enough to say he was right and I was wrong.
But they still won't do anything in the playoffs unless Archie's boy
learns to get rid of that ball quicker. Fine game for the 3 from Hawai'i
for Jacksonville: Chris Naeole, Vince Manuwai and Chris Fuamatu-ma'afala.
Now everybody give 'em da shaka
sign! I'll mention them on the radio this weekend.

Was on with the boys from the 50th state this past Friday night instead
Sunday, when I was the other show. We talked about U / H's chances v.
Boise St. (not quite a blowout but a loss none-the-less), The Jax Fab 3,
Nick Rolovich signing with the San Jose Sabercats of the Arena League and
the Hawai'i State High School Football Championship, which Ran da man
Myamoto told me was won by Kahuku (over the Saint Louis School Crusaders-
a mild upset). Be back on this Sunday as the University of Hawai'i
Warriors need to beat the 7-5 University of Houston Cougars in the Mele
Kelekemaka Day Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl to salvage an above average season
with a 9-5 mark. NFL Coaches who might not want to stock their wardrobes
in the their present teams colors include: San Diego's Marty
Schottenheimer, New Orlean's Jim Haslett, N.Y. Giants' Jim (Honolulu
Hawi'ians) Fassel, Miami's Dave Wannstedt, who's stuck with three second
string QBs, Buffalo's Gregg Williams, Atlanta's Dan (201 wins) Reeves,
       even
with owner Art Blanks denials and (should be!) Coach Dan Snyder in
Washington District of Criminals, who along with ultra-positive Dave
McGinnis in Arizona should be Coaching NFL Europe squads with the gang(s)
of losers they've stocked on their rosters! Coach Snyder in Washington
must have had an obsession to pour out the baby with the bath water when
he spent $800 mil. and hired two ex-USFL fossils like (Dr.)Pepper Rogers
and Steve (Banditball) Spurrier -  Vinnie Cerato to the contrary.
Merge Washington with Baltimore in the AFC and demote Arizona to NFL E,
pleeeeeze Paul Tagliabue, and I promise Mykaussie and I will bless you
with our presence at the Pro Bowl and Super Bowl again. {Actually, we'll
probably be there anywho.) And that's no idle (or is it 'idol') threat! I
like parity too, but even that's too much!" Moose

Tonight's pick: New York Jets {over} Tennessee Titans

NFL Week 13 Notes: Some great performances to marvel at from yesterday's
NFL action: Priest Holmes 162 yards for K.C. v. San Diego. Chicago Rook
RB, Brock Forsey rushing for 134 yards v. the hapless Cardinals (why
hasn't the NFL moved these jokes down to NFL Europe?), LaDanina
       Tomlinson's 105 yards
in a Charger loss to Chiefs, Shwan Alexander, who Myk and I interviewed
last Sept., '02 in Seattle and the big three of Myk's Vikes waste 3 good
efforts in their blowout loss to the Rams; Jim Kleinsasser, 10 cateches,
Randy Moss, 10 catches and how about the best QBing in a loss I've ever
heard of(?); Duante Culpepper - 330 yards passing / 70 yards rushing and
       2 TDs?

The Way they are headed...Count Green Bay and Pittsburgh out with their
losses this past weekend...The Packers need to start mad dog Doug
Pederson at QB- Brett Favre's thumb is shot and he's killing the team
with INTs. and fumbles. New York Giants need to bench Kerry Collins and
get highly regarded young Canadian pivot Jesse Palmer some
action...Ditto, for Pittsburgh with young Brain St. Pierre. New England
still a threat to go all the way after besting dbjenkins boys in the RCA
Dome in Indy yesterday. Mike Vanderjagt the ex-Ar.FL/ex-CFL'r did all he
could v. the Pats but  Manning and Dungy didn't give him enough
help. Duece McAllister of the 'Aint's is the best RB in the loop, period.
Without him Brooks and Company would be in the soup lines. Michael
       (broken leg) Vick
got back into action for the Foul-Kins but it is too little too late. At least owner Art Blank doesn't
have to push him around in a wheel chair anymore." Moose Salzer,
