Thurs, Dec 24, "Merry merry Christmas to all Total-CFL Fans. I truly love the CFL and look forward immensely to the 2004 CFL season. Wow Wow Wow! The very popular Jim Barker Fired as Head coach of the Calgary Stampeders was the big news this week on a Wild Wild Week on Total-CFL Discussion!" Myk Aussie

Jim was Fired three days before Christmas and then next day replaced by Matt Dunnigan. The way in which the Firing was done by former Mr Media now the President Ron Rooke sent the Stamps Fans in uproar last night on Mark Sport Stephen's QR77 SportsTalk/Bagging/Abuse radio show! It was my favorite show of the year as I got to hear Marcus Crandell the MVP Grey Cup 2001 Champ and then the abuse towards Mr Media/Pres was actually quite funny as some Total-CFLers will know what I mean!!!!! 

Oh No Moose Salzer my Nth American Football Expert, Director of "USA, Friends Of The CFL" and a major contributor to Total-CFLwebWORLD and MYKwebWORLD has a MADNess attack and probably quite rightly so says he will "Never Ever" go back on Total-CFL Discussion! Now that's big news as Moose loves the CFL and loves the Discussion so much he helped save it this time 12 mths ago.

I can't say I'm really surprised. At this time last year, I had a strong suspicion that whoever the next coach and/or GM was, the team would struggle and they would have a one year life cycle. When Calgary hired Barker, I had hoped his fate would be different from that, but it wasn't to be. There were a few Barker decisions that I didn't necessarily agree with, but overall I think he is a very good coach that deserves another Head Coach job in this league down the road.

I hope that the upside to this is that Calgary is very close to naming a GM who has a strong coaching candidate in mind, and this move was to prevent that GM from having to pull the trigger themselves. That would be a good Christmas present for Stamps fans" Sugargoot TotaL-CFL legend
