boys and some of the Kookaburras had Dicken's pub rocking into the early hours

It was a great effort by the Canadians as 4 of the 5 Trophies went to

the USA. It was also the 1st time that a Canadian won the Best and
Fairest Award. Congratulations to Gareth on the Best and Fairest. In 07
Gareth was also in the starting lineup for Northwind team Canada in
Houston and in Vancouver.

funny what Beau the Roo's captain did. I often wear my MYKwebTV blue and
White Calgary Kangaroo's shirt when I'm out and about and Beau did a very
funny job of being in his words "Mini Myk". His wig was the same as my
hair as well and the corked hat was great. It was a Big night. For more

Very unfortunate news in
regards to Mark Pitman from the SANFL and BL&GFA dying over the weekend!
I heard today that Mark
Pitman suddenly died over the weekend after suffering a brain aneurism as he was
riding his bike on Friday night ie no crash involved. That's sad, Crazy news. I
knew Mark from Gawler High School, Central District Under 19 days and then
standing him in the centre for Freeling while I was playing for the South Gawler
Lions in the 90's. Mark was a excellent player for Central Districts league. He
also won the association Medal playing for Freeling in the BL&GFA. He also
coached Freeling and Kapunda.
Known as "Pitty", Mark was a
very popular guy.

South Gawler Football Club, In the Lions Den 17/10/07 from
President Percey "The
South Gawler Sporting Community pays its respects to our late player Josh Ahern
who passed away during the week under shocking and tragic circumstances.
The Club offers it support and condolences to his many family and friends. An
innocent and talented life has been taken far too young before it had really
started and the club knows that he will be looked after by his fellow Lions
above. The challenge for the Lions left behind is that we respect Joshes memory
at least by driving safely and working with our young players so that they
realize the perils of the road before its too late.
Everyone, including those from other clubs
and the general community, is invited to the South Gawler clubrooms this
evening from 6.30pm to remember Josh and for support –particularly for
those about Joshes age. Professional support will be on hand and the club
hopes many people will attend. Thank you to the Lions who have been
looking after the Ahern family and each other during these dark hours.
Despite the circumstances the Senior
Trophy night was a successful evening enjoyed by the large crowd in
attendance. Thank you to the Netball Club for their ever efficient
organization. Congratulations to all Trophy winners including A Grade
Best & Fairest Winner for the fourth time Aaron Bevis, Reserves Best and
Fairest winner Jonathan Costa, Club Players of the Year Adrian and
Jonathan Costa and the very popular Club Person of the Year Debbie
McVicar. Wayne Armstrong, Norm Treager and Lenny McVicar were also
recognized for their outstanding voluntary service. The SGFC AGM will be
held on Friday 26/10/07. This is the most important meeting of the year
and is a chance for Lions to show commitment by getting involved –
actions speak louder than words! Do nothing are South Gawler will be in
big trouble – make a contribution and watch the Lions continue to make a
important community contribution with success on and off the ground.

South Gawler camaraderie don’t forget to meet at the Exchange from 6.30

Last week we found out that we will
for the 2nd year in a row be in Division 2. We
have approximately 11 Canadians/non Aussies and approximately 15 Aussies all
booked and ready to attend the 07 US Nationals in Kentucky next weekend. The
guys are all fired up and recently several guys picked their teams. Maybe they were
trying to influence Mr Roo Troy Rose the coach as to where they should be
playing. In our 1st game we take on our Western North American rivals/mates the
Seattle Grizzles on 9am Saturday morning. We then play Philadelphia at 1pm. The

The Calgary Kookaburra Cwoc's
combine with the Washington Eagles Cwoa's to participate in the Ladies
tournament at the 07 US Natl's!
This is great news. 9-10 of the Calgary Kookaburra Cwoc's, Cool Women Of
Canada are also heading to Louisville and are forming a team with the Washington
Eagles Cwoa's, Cool Women Of America. I tell you what any Canadian or USA ladies
that play Aussie Rules Footy are definitely Cwoc's and Cwoa's to me. The Calgary
Kookaburras were formed this year and are coached by Jake Hanson. For the

The Vancouver Cougars and the
Toronto Eagles win Back to Back Premierships!
In Western North America the Vancouver Cougars 11.10 = 76
defeated the Seattle Grizzles 8.9 = 57 to win back to back NWPAFL Premierships.
In Eastern Canada, in the longer running OAFL, Ontario Australian
Football League the Toronto Eagles 12.10 = 82 defeated the Etobicoke Kangaroos
3.6 =24. This was the Eagles 11th OAFL Premiership.

An example of my Comedy in Myk's Mates Club. I'm at Pammy's BC Place at the 1999
CFL Grey Cup in my Sth Gawler Lions/Geelong Cats style Aussie Rules Footy gear.
In the late 1980's the South Gawler Lions went away from their North Melbourne
style vertical strips and went back to the Geelong style jerseys from I believe
the early 1900's. One of the main reasons for this was Lions legend A Grade
player, A Grade coach and long time committee man Robert Officer was a huge
Geelong fan. I hope the Geelong fans enjoy my comedy, fun that I have over here

24.19 = 163 defeated the Port Adelaide Pap Smears
6.8 = 44. This was the biggest win in AFL Grand Final history in front of a
crowd of 97,302 at the MCG in Melbourne. It was Geelong's 1st flag since 1963.
