Bronco's Jake Plummer AFC Offensive Player of the Week, great stuff Jake!
Moose's NFC Playoff Picks! Moose's Best and Worst coaches and players of
       the 04 season!" Myk Aussie
 Below
Moose's reports are the AFC and NFC Players of the week with great
reports direct from NFL Media. Final
NFL 85th season Notes, as the Regular Season ends... By:
       Rich Salzer NFC
       Playoff Preview: Minnesota
at Green Bay and Saint Louis at Seattle I
predict the Seahawks and Packers to win rather easily in these
two games, but here's some perspective. I really feel this
is the great Brett Favre's last best chance to get back to one
more Super Bowl Championship. The Packers have won more
NFL titles (13) than any other NFL club. To start the new
year off right, the Packers need 'slackers' to pay them, a
       visit.  Enter
poor beleaguered former 14 year NFL TE Mike Tice,
current punching-bag/Coach of the perpetually underachieving Vikings.
Big-egos, Randy Moss and non-leadership QB Daunte
Culpepper will be at each other's throats before this one
is over. RB Robert Smith has never been replaced properly in this Offence
and Ontario Smith [great name, eh?], isn't the
answer. The Vikings backed into the playoffs losing six of their
last eight games and stingy owner Red McCombs won't offer
any proper bucks up to retain Coach Tice, who's cajoled
       and pampered big-ego Moss
(who averages 2.5 drops per game!), and
       deserves better.
Comeback Kid/Coach Mike Sherman was all but
written off ealier in the year when the Pack slipped to 1-4-0. But
then the Offencive Coordinator needed a double bypass surgery on
his heart, Lonnngggtime backup Doug Pederson, who of the League's
best, got hurt for the year and all of a sudden Sherman taking
over the play calling (Pederson is now on the mic as well helping
from the sidelines - He may yet be an Ast.Coach) and like, voila,
man. All is well with the Pack. They'll have no trouble dispatching
       the Vikings. In the other
NFC game, the Seahawks, who've been wrestling
with the Rams for the NFC Western Division all year long get
to go into the crypt and finally drive a stake (not 'steak') into Mike
Martz (who'll probably be fired after that) and finish the biggest
freak show in the NFL turf,
once and for all. Marc Bulger can occasionally throw
for a ton of yards and scores in shootouts like this one but he has
a history in the playoffs of throwing a ton of INTs as well.

 Poor Marshall Faulk
       - remember when the Rams used to have REAL QBs like
       Kurt Warner and Trent Green?!
 League
Awards, 'The Salzer's', for the 2004 season -M.V.P. - Drew Brees, San Diego QB.
Best Offensive Player of Year: Peyton Manning, Indianapolis QB.
Best Defensive Player of the Year: Julius Peppers, DE, Carolina.
Best Special Teams Player of the Year,  and the
most exciting player to come into the NFL in last 15 years: Dante
(Small) Hall, KR-WR/PR-RB Kansas City Chiefs.
 Runner-up M.V.P. Michael Vick,
       indeed, eh, Myk....
Coach of the Year: Martin Edward Schottenheimer, San Diego Chargers.
Draft Picks, the top three: (1) San Francisco, (2) Miami, (3) Cleveland.
 OK...I
finally got to see my man Sage Rosenfels start a game at QB for the
Dull-Fins...I'm off the bandwagon. Bring on Shawn Withy-Allen! Most
Underrated Player in the NFL - Wes Welker, San Diego / Miami. This kid
became the first player in NFL history to return a kickoff, a Punt
for touchdowns AND kick a FG in the same season in the League's 85
years. What a story. Let go by the Chargers early in the year (couldn't
beat out Tim Dwight), he lands in Miami and simply was the Dolphins
       M.V.P. this year. Second to
Dante Hall in almost all kick/punt returning categories
       - and leads the pathetic Dolphins in Total yards in his Rookie season.
Only Big Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh's QB had a better rookie season. Comeback
       of the Year: Kurt
Warner, QB, New York Giants (if only he could have played for a REAL
Coach, like Jim Fassel, who will be back Coaching in the NFL soon!) Most
Overrated - take your pick: Eli Manning, Michael Vick, Randy Moss,
Aaron (I'm a great QB on an
inconsistent team) Brooks...I wouldn't have any
of these guys on my team - except Vick - at WR or RB... Worst
Coach: Take your pick again - Tom Coughlin, Mike Martz or Terry Robiski Should
       Probably Retire: Washington's
Joe Gibbs, N.Y. Giants Coughlin, Dallas Bill Parcells...Coughlin I
can't stand but Gibbs and Parcells shouldn't want to end their careers
on THESE kind of notes. Worst
QBs I've EVER seen in ANY Pro Leagues... Up
until the last week of the season, I would have said Archie Manning
       could die in peace, with
the way his son Eli was playing, but then I saw Koy
Detmer of Philthydelphia - EACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's even worse
       than Ty! Phildadelphia saw
how much fun Minnesota had backing into the
Playoffs and they decided they would stink up the joint as bad. Memo
to Andy Reid: Shawn Withy-Allen is still available - get him please,
       and cut loose Detmer and
Jeff Blake, Dave Shula's old buddy as well." Moose "Wow!
Moose goes right off at some of my favorite players" Myk Aussie

PLAYERS OF WEEK 17 BRONCOS QB JAKE PLUMMER, PATRIOTS LB TEDY BRUSCHI
& STEELERS K JEFF REED  Quarterback
JAKE PLUMMER of the Denver Broncos, linebacker TEDY BRUSCHI of the New
England Patriots and kicker JEFF REED of the Pittsburgh Steelers are the
AFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games
played the 17th week of the 2004 season (January 2), the NFL announced
       today. OFFENSE:
QB JAKE PLUMMER, DENVER BRONCOS "Yeh way to go Jake" Myk In
a game that the Broncos had to win in order to advance to the playoffs,
Denver’s Plummer rose to occasion by posting a 105.7 passer rating,
completing 17 of 30 passes for 246 yards and a pair of touchdowns without
an interception in a 33-14 win against the Colts to force a Wild Card
playoff rematch this Sunday in Indianapolis.  The 6-2, 212-pound
quarterback totaled 4,089 passing yards for the season, surpassing JOHN
ELWAY (1993) for the single-season franchise record.  Plummer’s
two touchdowns, which included a 38-yard, over-the-shoulder catch by
ASHLEY LELIE gave Plummer 27 for the season, which tied Elway (1997) for
the team record.  Plummer also became the first player in club
history to throw every pass attempt for the team for an entire season.
Both of Plummer’s scoring throws came in the first half to earn
the home team a 17-7 lead that it would not relinquish. In
his eighth year from Arizona State, this is Plummer’s third career
Player of the Week Award and his second as a Bronco.
        DEFENSE:
       LB TEDY BRUSCHI, NEW
       ENGLAND PATRIOTS In
a 21-7 victory against San Francisco for the team’s second-consecutive
14-2 regular season record, New England’s Bruschi led the Patriots with
15 tackles and played a key role in limiting the 49ers to one touchdown.
The San Francisco native recorded nine tackles within three yards
of the line of scrimmage against his hometown team.  Five of his 15
stops were made one yard beyond the scrimmage line or for a loss.
Bruschi and the Patriots finished the season tied for the second-fewest
points allowed in the league (16.3 per game).  The AFC East
champions earn a bye this week and will host an AFC Divisional playoff
game on Sunday, January 16, at 4:30 p.m. ET. This
is the fourth career Player of the Week distinction for the 6-1,
247-pounder from Arizona and his second of the season (Week 4).
         SPECIAL
TEAMS: K JEFF REED, PITTSBURGH STEELERS In
a 29-24 win at Buffalo, Pittsburgh kicker JEFF REED was a perfect
five-for-five in field goals along with a pair of extra points for a
total of 17 points on the day.  Reed connected from 22, 21, 31, 37,
37, and 33 yards – one field goal short of the club record of six,
which he shares with former Steelers kicker GARY ANDERSON.  Reed
finished the season 28 of 33 in field goal attempts (84.8 percent) and
was third in AFC scoring with 124 points.  The AFC North champion
Steelers have earned a bye this Sunday and will face the lowest-remaining
AFC playoff seed on Saturday, January 15 at 4:30 p.m. ET. In
his third season from North Carolina, this is Reed’s second career
       Player of the Week Award.
        NFC
PLAYERS OF WEEK 17 - RAMS QB MARC BULGER, PACKERS DE KABEER GBAJA-BIAMILA
& SAINTS DE TONY BRYANT  Quarterback
MARC BULGER of the St. Louis Rams, defensive end KABEER GBAJA-BIAMILA of
the Green Bay Packers and defensive end TONY BRYANT of the New Orleans
Saints are the NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the
Week for games played the 17th week of the 2004 season (January 2), the
       NFL announced today. OFFENSE:
QB MARC BULGER, ST. LOUIS RAMS ·
Bulger guided the Rams to a thrilling 32-29 overtime victory
against the visiting New York Jets, helping St. Louis clinch a playoff
berth.  Bulger completed 29 of 39 attempts for 450 yards and three
touchdowns, posting a 116.4 passer rating.  Playing perhaps his best
football in overtime, Bulger completed six of nine passes for 93 yards in
the extra session, including three of three attempts for 42 yards on the
game-winning drive, culminating in a 31-yard field goal by kicker JEFF
WILKINS.  His 450 yards was the second-highest total of his career
and fifth-highest in team history, as he completed passes to nine
different receivers in the win.  Bulger’s three touchdowns marked
his fourth-career three touchdown game and helped the Rams to their 13th
consecutive December home victory, the second-longest active streak in
the NFL (Kansas City, 16). In
his fourth season from West Virginia, this is Bulger’s second Player of
       the Week Award. DEFENSE:
DE KABEER GBAJA-BIAMILA, GREEN BAY PACKERS ·
Gbaja-Biamila led the defensive charge for the Packers, who earned
a 31-14 victory over the rival Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.  The
defensive end posted a career-high 4.0 sacks, finishing with seven
tackles and one forced fumble.  His 4.0-sack performance ties for
the third-best in franchise history and is the most since VONNIE HOLLIDAY
set the club mark with a 5.0-sack effort against the Buffalo Bills on
December 22, 2002.  Gbaja-Biamila entered the game with 9.5 sacks
and now takes his place alongside the legendary REGGIE WHITE as the only
players in Packers’ history with four 10.0-sack seasons.  White
accomplished the feat in 1993, 1995 and 1997-98, while Gbaja-Biamila has
done it in each of the last four seasons. In
his fifth season from San Diego State, this is Gbaja-Biamila’s first
Player of the Week Award.  SPECIAL
TEAMS: DE TONY BRYANT, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS ·
Bryant played an important role in keeping the Saints playoff
hopes alive in Week 17, helping New Orleans to a 21-18 road-win against
the NFC South rival Carolina Panthers.  With the Saints clinging to
a three-point advantage, Carolina lined up for a potential game-tying
60-yard field goal to force overtime.  But Bryant rose to the
occasion, blocking the attempt by kicker JOHN KASAY – who had connected
on a 54-yard field goal earlier in the game – to seal the victory.
Bryant also contributed on defense, recording 1.0 sack as the Saints held
the Panthers to their lowest point in more than two months (17, October
       31, at Seattle). In
his fifth season from Florida State, this is Bryant’s first Player of
the Week Award and marks the fourth consecutive week a Saints player has
captured the NFC Special Teams honor.

        This

Vikings, Packers, Chargers, Seahawks are the 1st 5 NFL teams that I
focused on, these teams being the teams that I did MYKwebTV on in my 1st
2 years of reporting on the NFL. Since then I have covered two Super

along with star players and cheerleaders from many of the other teams
from the 3 Pro Bowls that I have covered. A nice little coincidence that
for the 1st time all my top 5 teams are in the Playoffs. My tips

 Bravo
to both the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers for the #92'S
       ON THEIR HELMETs in honor
of Reggie White. Why didn't the Panthers, were
White's last Pro team also were them? Maybe that's why they lost. Conjecter...Records:
Brett Favre pushed the most consecutive starts to 205.
That'll be a record I don't think I will live to see broken. Ben
Roethlisberger, though he was dressed as number #3 yesterday, though
       injured, still
finished the season with a perfect 13-0 record as a rookie starting
       QB, another
one that'll be hard to break. Chief's Tony Gonzalez set an alltime
       Pro Football record with
102 catches for a TE. No chance for Antonio Gates, San
Diego's allstar to break that or Tony Gabriel's alltime Pro TE mark of
       13 TDs
in a season, set with Ottawa in '76. Gates and four other Chargers set
       to rest for the playoffs.
Good job by Pitt's Coach Bill Cowher to get third string
       Canadian QB, Brian St.
Pierre some playing time yesterday. St. Pierre prepped
       at both Univ. of Pittsburgh
and Saint Mary's, the only player I know of who played
in both the NCAA's and CIS. Game
Balls for game 16. Regular season ends for NFL, PLAYOFF Picks comin' 1)
Marc Bulger, St. Louis QB, 430 yards passing to get the Rams into the
       playoffs and save Mike
       Martz job. 2)
Shaun Alexander, RB, Seattle. Not only did the Seahawks clinch the
       NFC West but Alexander lead
the NFC in rushing. Way to go Shaun! "Hey Moose that was great when
we interviewd Shaun after the game in Seattle a couple of years ago, the
game he had 5 TD's in the 1st half" Myk  3)
Teddy Bruschi, LB, New England. An unconscionable 15 (more) tackles
in a single game, yesterday. 4)
Jake Plummer, QB, Denver. Not only did the Broncos crush the Colts
       (who they play in the
playoffs next week) but he threw more TDs and had
more yards passing in a single season than any QB in Denver's history
even more than that guy, what was his name, Elway (?) ever have. A-mazing! 5)
Ageless Doug Flutie, in what may have been his last start - EVER!. 199
       yards passing
on only 13 completions, 1 TD throw - no sacks, no fumbles, no INTs.,
3 carries for 25 yards and
1 TD in only about one third of a game. 42 and in his
twentieth Pro season. REALLY A-Mazing! Moose's
       fearless playoff Picks: AFC Denver
OVER IndianapolisSan Diego OVER New York Jets
 NFC
       TO come... Moose
you are going for the Broncos? I hope you are right and I will be rooting
for them but against the Colts at home?" Myk Aussie "Myk
three reasons; (1) Peyton Manning 2-5-0 in his career in NFL playoffs, (2) What
       are the chances of
Denver losing two years in a row at Indianapolis and, (3) Does
       anybody think that
Tony Dungy, who is a good guy, is a better Coach than two time Super
       Bowl winner Mike Shanahan?
Broncos by at least a TD" Moose out!

        Who
will be rested and who won't be in the final round of NFL is all the talk
this week on SportsRage with Gabriel Morency. If the Broncos who are my
#1 team win and Peyton Manning doesn't play I'll still be very hapy that
we made the playoffs and then anything can happen. My
week 17 tips - Lions over Tits. Ravens over Fish. Packers over
Bears. Jets over Rams. Texans over Browns. Vikings I
damned well hope so over Redskins. Bills
over Steelers as Big Ben the star Steelers QB will be rested it
seems. Panthers over Saints. Pats who I still like for the
Super Bowl over 49ers. Eagles over Bengals but will Donovan McNabb
play. Falcons over Seahawks but if Falcons Champ QB Michael Vick
doesn't play the Seahawks should win Bucs over Cardinals. Chargers
over Chiefs but the Chargers may rest players as well. Broncos over
Colts. Jags over Raiders. Cowboys over Giants." Myk

 Green Bay OVER Chicago
New York Jets OVER Saint Louis
 Houston OVER Cleveland
 Minnesota OVER Washington
 Pittsburgh OVER Buffalo
 Carolina OVER New Orlean
 New England OVER San Francisco
 Cincinnati OVER Philadelphia

 Tampa Bay OVER Arizona
 Kansas City OVER San Diego
Denver OVER Indianapolis [they probably won't play P.Manning]
 Jacksonville OVER Oakland
 Dallas OVER New York Giants
 *End of regular season

        NFL Week 16 Notes -
Coaches that probably will be let go soon. New Orlean - Jim Haslett, who
is a good Coach though. Why, Jim, why did you go with Aaron Brooks over
Jake Delhomme and Todd Bouman, both of whom have been to NFL E Bowls?!
They've both played better than Mike Vick's

        second cousin Brooks,
when given the chance! Dumb move that'll mess up your resume! I predict
that as far as NFL re- cycling goes, he'll get another H.Coaching job
someday. Mike Martz (I'm gonna enjoy that one! And the New York Giants
can take idiot Tom Coughlin with him!). His Rams have been so
undercoached since that Super Bowl XXXVI loss three yrs. ago, I'm
surprised he's survived this long! A very good Offencive Coordinator, but
no H. Coach! Terry Robiski(how'd he get a Polish name!?), Cleveland, Mr.
No Imagination. Also a strong candidate for worst Offencive Coordiantor
of alltime. Let's see, before he was injured for the year, Jeff Garcia
not rolling out, Then he benches Kelly (Barcelona) Holcomb THE GAME AFTER
HE THROWS FOR 5 TDS, AN ALLTIME BROWNS LOSS! Luke McCown now 0-4 as an
       overmatched

        starter.

        Coach of the Year:

        Frankly, the way the
Giants started out the season, I sincerely thought it would be Tom
Coughlin. But he got stupid and started the worst QB in the history of
Pro Football Eli Manning. Manning now 0-7 as a starter and leading the
League with a whopping 23 turnovers. Like I said, any Coach that screws
with Kurt Warner gets burned. It's written in the stars, I guess...My
choice for Coach of the Year - San Diego's Marty Schottenheimer. I never
thought I'd hear myself say/write that!

        Once again, Marty
Schottenheimer, San Diego, Coach of the Year (gets easier to take the
       more I say it).

        Coaches that really
should hang it up; Washington's Joe Gibbs, and Dallas Bill Parcells.
Guys, you're already Hall-of-Famers. Let some younger men get a chance.
Washington and Dallas will be the pits for years....

        Dumbest Coaching move
of the year - Miami, who is on a roll with ex-Ar.FL player/Ast. Coach Jim
Bates, now 3-2 since replacing Dave Wannstedt and inconsistent QB Jay
Fielder with more mobile A.J. Feeley,

who has six TDs and 2
INTs. in the last three weeks, blowing big bucks on LSU nobody Nick Saban,
who will be a huge flop, I predict. Just because he's Lou's
       boy....I-YI-YI-I-YI.

        Game Balls - Week
       sixteen -

         1)  Peyton Manning (this REALLY is scary. He's gotten more game
balls from me this year [one more] , than any other player!), QB,
Indianapolis, for breaking Doug Flutie and Dan Marino's outdoor Pro
Football record of 48 TD passes in a season. Of course they'll go nowhere
       in the playoffs again, but.....

        2) Antonio Gates, TE,
San Diego, my pick for M.V.P this year, so far (along with two others,
who I will divulge next week, er, ah, year). Gates tied Ottawa's Tony
Gabriel's 13 TDs in a Pro Football season [1976] by a TE, with one game
left. I predict he WILL break the mark with a 14th TDs this weekend.
       Basketball player indeed.

        3)  Seattle RB, Shaun Alexander.

        4)  Carolina QB Jake Delhomme, 4 TDs in a must win.

        5)  Mushin Muhammad, Carolina, WR. Is it any wonder why this guy
is the Cajan Snake's favorite target? Meet the new Jerry Rice.

        Honourable Mention:

        Kansas City ST'r's
Dante Hall and Vinnie Sapp for saving the Chiefs

        win over Oakland on
Christmas Day. Now, on a sadder note; Reggie White's death:

        Condolences to all
especially the Reggie White family. White will be the first ex-Carolina
Panther to make the Hall-of Fame in Canton, Ohio, probably on the first
       ballot in '06. White, 43,

        died of respiratory
failure at home in North Carolina early Sunday morning, FOX & other
       Sports outlets reported last weekend.

        Officially White is Pro
Football alltime QB-sack leader, with 230.5 Pro sacks (198.5 in the NFL
and 32 more in the United States Football League with Memphis, in
1984-'85. White's autobiography, which was released in 1995, is a good
       sports book.

        The NFL's alltime QB-sack
leader, 'officially' is ex-Norfolk Nighthawk co-owner, Bruce Smith, who
played one more Pro season than did White and amassed 200 NFL sacks. But
as everybody who has covered Pro Football knows, since sacks were only a
recorded Pro stat in the CFL since 1972 and the NFL since 1982, really
Deacon Jones (ex-Washington, San Diego and L.A. Ram DE), who coined the
term, is the 'unofficial' QB-sack leader. Jones averaged AT Least 23 PER
SEASON in his 10-year Pro career, before they were an official stat.

        White played 17
seasons, 15 in the NFL & the first two in the long defunct USFL. He
played two seasons for Memphis, eight for Philadelphia, six for Green Bay
before retiring for one season then his last year, 1999 for Carolina.
Reggie was an ordained (non-futurist) Baptist minister who took a very
Pro-biblical and hard stance v. abortion, pornography and homosexuality.
He was a frequent target of both the political left and right. He stumped
for several third party political candidates, even in the Presidential
races. Ha also backed biblically-correct Alan Keyes in several Political
races. God bless Reggie for 'doing the right thing for America, there. He
was the best DE EVER to play Pro Football, in any League. His 'official'
sack record (Deacon Jones 'unofficial' one, notwithstanding) will last
probably as long as Tim Chang's NCAA passing stats. R.I.P." Moose

PLAYERS OF WEEK 16 - COLTS QB PEYTON MANNING, BRONCOS LB D.J. WILLIAMS
& CHIEFS KR-PR DANTE HALL.  Quarterback
PEYTON MANNING of the Indianapolis Colts, rookie linebacker D.J. WILLIAMS
of the Denver Broncos and kick returner-punt returner DANTE HALL of the
Kansas City Chiefs are the AFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams
Players of the Week for games played the 16th week of the 2004 season
(December 24-27), the NFL announced today. OFFENSE:
QB PEYTON MANNING, INDIANAPOLIS COLTS Indianapolis’
Manning surpassed DAN MARINO (48, 1983) for the most touchdown passes in
a season with 49 and led his team to a come-from-behind 34-31 overtime
win against San Diego to solidify the No. 3 seed in the AFC playoffs.
Manning completed 27 of 44 passes (61.4 percent) for 383 yards with two
touchdowns against one interception.  The Colts trailed by eight
points with 3:42 left in regulation when Manning and the NFL’s No.
1-ranked offense took possession on its own 20-yard line.  On the
game-tying drive, the seven-year pro completed six of eight passes for 85
yards, including a 19-yard strike on fourth-and-four from the
Indianapolis 26-yard line, which culminated in his record-breaking 49th
TD pass of the season – a 21-yard completion to BRANDON STOKLEY.
Indianapolis was successful on its two-point conversion try and won the
game on a 30-yard field goal two minutes into the extra session.
        This
is the fourth Player of the Week Award for Manning this season (Weeks 3,
10, 12) and the eleventh of his career.  Manning is one of eight
offensive players to earn at least 11 Player of the Week Awards since the
       honor’s inception in 1984. DEFENSE:
LB D.J. WILLIAMS, DENVER BRONCOS Williams,
Denver’s starting rookie inside linebacker (first-round, Miami) led his
team with 10 tackles and an interception in a 37-16 win at Tennessee on
Christmas night.  The victory enables the Broncos to control their
own playoff destiny this Sunday against Manning and the Colts at INVESCO
Field at Mile High.  Williams was the center of a defense that
limited the Titans to 1-of-11 (9.1 percent) on third-down conversion
tries and a 20:36 time of possession mark.  Williams leads the club
with 109 tackles and aims to become the first Bronco rookie to lead the
team in that category for a season since rookie linebacker TOM GRAHAM
tied LYLE ALZADO (91) for the team-high mark in 1972.  Former Bronco
Graham, incidentally, is the father of New England tight end DANIEL
       GRAHAM.
        This
is the first Player of the Week Award for Williams and the first on the
season for an AFC defensive rookie.  SPECIAL
TEAMS: KR-PR DANTE HALL, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS For
the second-consecutive week, Kansas City’s Hall earns the AFC Special
Teams honor with a performance that gave his team an opportunity to win
on Christmas Day, defeating division-rival Oakland 31-30.  Hall
returned six kickoffs for 175 yards and a 29.2 average.  Hall’s
final return of the day – with 1:07 remaining in regulation – went
for 49 yards to the Oakland 36-yard line with the Chiefs trailing by two
points.  The return set the Chiefs up with favorable field position
and led to a game-winning field goal with 26 seconds to play.  This
marks the second straight season that the former NFL Europe Scottish
Claymore veteran (2001) has won back-to-back honors after earning AFC
Special Teams Player of the Week four straight times in 2003. In
his fifth year from Texas A&M, this is Hall’s seventh Player of the
Week Award – the most special teams honors by any Chiefs player in
       history.

PLAYERS OF WEEK 16 - SEAHAWKS RB SHAUN ALEXANDER, RAMS DE BRYCE FISHER
& SAINTS KR/PR MICHAEL LEWIS Running
back SHAUN ALEXANDER of the Seattle Seahawks, defensive end BRYCE FISHER
of the St. Louis Rams and return specialist MICHAEL LEWIS of the New
Orleans Saints are the NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players
of the Week for games played the 16th week of the 2004 season (December
24-27), the NFL announced today. OFFENSE:
RB SHAUN ALEXANDER, SEATTLE SEAHAWKS ·
Alexander led the Seahawks to a 24-21 win over the Arizona
Cardinals at Qwest Field, helping Seattle clinch a playoff berth for the
second consecutive season.  He carried 30 times for 154 yards in the
victory, including touchdown runs of 1, 17 and 23 yards.  After his
second-quarter one-yard touchdown sparked the Seahawks to a 10-7 halftime
advantage, the Florence, KY native really heated up in the second half,
rushing for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead the team to the
playoffs.  Alexander tops the NFL with 1,616 yards rushing and 19
touchdowns.  His five 150-yard rushing games are the most in the
league.  With his 154 yards on Sunday, he surpassed CHRIS WARREN for
the franchise single-season rushing record.  Warren rushed for 1,545
       yards in 1994. In
his fifth season from Alabama, this is Alexander’s fourth Player of the
       Week Award. DEFENSE:
DE BRYCE FISHER, ST. LOUIS RAMS ·
Fisher played a pivotal role for the Rams in a 20-7 victory over
the NFC East champion Philadelphia Eagles on ABC’s
NFL Monday Night Football.  Fisher totaled seven tackles, 1.0
sack and one forced fumble, helping create a key turnover that enabled
the Rams to seal the win and hand Philadelphia its first NFC loss of the
season.  With the Rams leading 17-7 in the fourth quarter and having
just lost a fumble two plays earlier, Fisher responded.  His sack
forced a fumble, which was ultimately recovered by linebacker PISA
TINOISAMOA and set up St. Louis at the Eagles’ 31-yard line.
Eight plays later, kicker JEFF WILKINS’ 29-yard field goal gave the
Rams a 13-point advantage that would prove insurmountable.  The win
keeps St. Louis’ hopes alive for a fifth trip to the playoffs in the
       last six years. In
his fourth season from Air Force, this is Fisher’s first Player of the
       Week Award.  SPECIAL
TEAMS: KR/PR MICHAEL LEWIS, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS ·
Lewis had another standout performance on special teams for New
Orleans, playing an important role in a 26-13 win over the Atlanta
Falcons.  The victory keeps the Saints alive for their first playoff
berth since 2000.  Lewis returned three kickoffs for 122 yards,
including a 96-yard third quarter touchdown which gave the Saints a
13-point lead.  The kickoff return touchdown was the third of his
career and first for the NFL Europe League veteran (Rhein Fire, 2001)
since 2002.  Lewis returned five punts in the game, with a long
return of 25 yards, giving him 118 for his career, passing TYRONE HUGHES
       (116) for the most in franchise history.  The New Orleans native
helped the Saints score first, downing a first-quarter punt at the
one-yard line which set up a safety three plays later for a 2-0 New
       Orleans advantage. In
his fourth season, this is Lewis’ second Player of the Week Award.  It
