        From
       NFL Media EAGLES
QB DONOVAN MCNABB, PATRIOTS LB TEDY BRUSCHI & FALCONS PR ALLEN ROSSUM
NAMED NFL PLAYERS OF DIVISIONAL WEEKEND Quarterback
DONOVAN MCNABB of the Philadelphia Eagles, linebacker TEDY BRUSCHI of the
New England Patriots and punt returner ALLEN ROSSUM of the Atlanta
Falcons are the NFL Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the
Week for Divisional Weekend (January 15-16), the NFL announced today. OFFENSE:
QB DONOVAN MCNABB, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES ·
McNabb led the Eagles to their fourth consecutive NFC Championship
Game berth by posting a 111.4 passer rating, completing 22 of 33 passes
for 286 yards with a pair of touchdowns without an interception in
defeating Minnesota, 27-14.  By halftime, the sixth-year veteran
from Syracuse had connected on 16 of 22 pass attempts for 209
yards.  In the game's final 30 minutes, the Eagles ran the ball 15
times and threw only 11 passes as McNabb guided his team to a
two-possession lead for 41:48 of the game's 60 minutes. This
is the fifth-career Player of the Week Award for McNabb and is his second
       this season (Week 13). DEFENSE:
LB TEDY BRUSCHI, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS ·     New
England’s Bruschi played a key role in helping the Patriots win their
seventh-consecutive playoff game as the club stymied the Colts, 20-3, in
Gillette Stadium Sunday.  Bruschi made eight tackles, forced a
fumble and recovered two more as the Patriots limited the NFL's
top-scoring offense to three points to advance to their third AFC
Championship Game in the past four years.  Four of Bruschi's eight
tackles were within three yards of the line of scrimmage.  Perhaps
Bruschi's biggest play came with 3:19 remaining in the first half while
the Patriots nursed a 6-0 lead.  On the eighth play of an
Indianapolis drive, the Colts faced 2nd down and 17 from New
England's 39-yard line and closing in on field goal range.  Bruschi
closed in on Colts’ running back Dominic Rhodes, who had just
hauled in a screen pass, and stripped the ball away to thwart a
scoring threat on Indianapolis' longest drive of the first half.
Bruschi and the New England defense allowed the Colts 22:17 of ball
possession and limited NFL MVP Peyton Manning to a 69.3 passer rating --
his lowest since last season's AFC Championship Game when the Patriots
limited him to a 35.5 mark. This
is the fifth-career Player of the Week Award for Bruschi, his third this
season (Weeks 4 and 17). SPECIAL
TEAMS: PR ALLEN ROSSUM, ATLANTA FALCONS ·     In
a convincing 47-17 win over St. Louis, Rossum set an NFL playoff
record with 152 yards on three punt returns -- a staggering 50.7-yard
average.  The 5-foot-8 return specialist brought back a punt 68
yards for a touchdown with 59 seconds remaining in the first half to
give the Falcons a 28-14 cushion.  He had returns of 39 and 45 yards
in the third quarter to set up a touchdown and field goal for the host
Falcons, respectively.  Rossum broke the mark set by
Minnesota's Anthony Carter, who had 143 punt return yards against the
       Saints in 1987. In
his seventh year out of Notre Dame, this is Rossum’s third-career
Player of the Week Award, his first with the Falcons and first since
       2000. It
is so cool to be the only Aussie that has regularly reported on the NFL

14 05 "My NFL Playoff Week 2 tips! Randy Moss fined $10,000
       for unsportsmanlike conduct!"
        AFC
       - Colts vs Patriots! This has got to be the gamed of the year and
I've been tossing it in my head all week who to tip. I said all along I
though the Patriots would win the Super Bowl but the Colts are playing so
well it's hard to pick against them even in New England in the cold and
outside. A couple of key injuries to the Patriots thus I am very temped
to change my Super Bowl pick to the Colts but I will after much thought
stick with the Patriots. Whoever wins this game Sunday afternoon I
believe will win the Super Bowl. It should be a absolute rippa of a
       game.
        Jets
vs Steelers. I would like to tip the Jets and I will be hoping
they win but in Pittsburg I'm tipping the Steelers. NFC
       - Falcons vs Rams. This should be another great game. I'm going
for the Falcons just! There is no doubt the Rams have the offensive fire
power to win this game. I am a big fan of Marc Bulger the Rams QB and
their star players. Falcons QB Michael Vick is the most exciting player I
have seen play in the past 5 years of covering the NFL.  Vikings
vs Eagles. I'm going for a upset here and tipping my favorite NFC team
the Vikings. I firmly believe the Eagles stars were rested a week to
early and thus they have not played now for 3-4 weeks. Good luck
especially to Aussie Darren Bennett now  the punter with the
       Vikings. If
you are a betting man I strongly suggest you listen to SportsRage tonight
with Gabriel Morency for his extensive run down of the games and his

the weekend games refer to Moose and Scott's previews below. Direct

MOSS FINED $10,000 FOR UNSPORTSMANSLIKE CONDUCT Randy
Moss of the Minnesota Vikings has been fined $10,000 for unsportsmanlike
conduct following his fourth-quarter touchdown reception in last
Sunday’s NFC Wild Card playoff game against the Green Bay Packers, the
       NFL announced today. In
addition, NFL Senior Vice President of Football Operations Art Shell
spoke to Vikings head coach Mike Tice earlier this week by telephone to
make clear the NFL’s expectations for player conduct. The
fine was issued by NFL Director of Game Operations Peter Hadhazy. "Your
actions were based on poor judgment, did not reflect well on you or the
Vikings, and were insulting to many," Hadhazy said in a letter to
Moss. "They have resulted in widespread criticism and needlessly
detracted from Minnesota’s dramatic playoff victory. Fans should look
to you and your teammates to see how to compete and win in football. But
when you lose your focus on playing and engage in sideshows as you did on
Sunday, you forfeit much of this." I
have a very funny picture of Randy and Brett Favre from the huge controversy
that Randy caused but I have to be very careful what I show on general
viewing MYKwebWORLD so it's gotta be Mates Club as some humor involved.

13 05 "Scott's NFL Playoff Week 2 predictions and excellent
       report!" Myk Aussie
        From Scott Baxter
"In 1985, the New England Patriots defeated the Jets, Raiders, and
Dolphins to reach the Super Bowl. They are the only Wild Card team to win
3 road games in the playoffs to make the Super Bowl. Yes, they were
eventually crushed by the Bears, 46-10 in Super Bowl XX.

        This is Favre's 4th
straight year that he has had a terrible performance in the playoffs.

        2001 vs. the Rams - 6
       turnovers.

2002 vs. the Falcons - 2 interceptions, 4 fumbles, three lost.
2003 vs. the Eagles - one of the worst INTs ever in OT.
 2004 vs. the Vikings - 4 interceptions.
 Note on the Vikings -
That was their first playoff win on the road since 1997 when they came
       back and beat the Giants.

        Matt Hasselback - go to
a team where they can catch the ball. Hasselback is not a bad QB, Seattle
receivers couldn't catch a cold in Siberia in the dead of winter.
Hasselback is a free agent (as well as 16 other Seahawks, most notably
All-World Shawn Alexander and Pro Bowl Olm Walter Jones), and I would NOT
be suprised if Bill (Tuna) Parcells tried to get Hassel- back to Dallas.

        Daunte Culpepper had a
110.9 passer rating this year. That puts him 3rd in NFL history behind
Steve Young (112.3) in 1994, and Peyton Manning, in Passer ratings.

        Colts vs. Patriots

        - The Patriots will be
without Ty Law, who intercepted 3 passes in the championship game last
year, and All-Pro DT/TE-FB Richard Seymour. Both Law and Tyrone Poole,
starters in the AFC Championship game at corner last year are both on IR.

        If the weather is
decent, this will be a high scoring game. Look for a heavy dose of Corey
Dillon for the Patriots. Dillon, probably the best acquisition this year
in the AFC, gained over 1500 yards, but had fumbled 5 times in the last 3
games. A concern from the Pats' coaching staff.

        Peyton Manning is 0-6
       all time in New England.

        Pick - Although the
defense for the Pats is not as good as last year's D, somehow, someway
The Pats find a way to win. It all depends if the Colts get the first
possession and score and the weather.

        Jets vs. Steelers.

        - Steelers in another low
scoring contest. The Jets played a very physical game against the
Chargers. t will catch up to  them
       later in the Steeler contest.

        NFC

        - Vikings vs. Eagles

       . Eagles - Vikings are
too up and down. The Vikes defense is still not that good. Eagles
weakness is against the run, but the Vikes are better with the pass, and
the blitzing schemes by the Eagles are similar to those used by
       Washington.

        Atlanta vs. Rams

        - Atlanta will un-lose
this game against the Rams. Coaching: Jim L. Mora (Jr.) vs. Mixed-up
Martz. Vick will probably run for over 80 on 5 carries. The Rams
secondary only has 6 INTs for the entire regular season. The Rams did get
one early last Sat. against the Seahawks. It was a dropped pass by
       Seattle WR

Darrell Jackson that fell into the hands of a Rams CB. Atlanta's D is
better, and the Rams' cavalier attitude, especially with timeouts, will
cost them. Just don't be surprised if a road team wins this weekend,
especially in the NFC.” Scott, THE BAXTER OUT!

Playoff Update - Week 18 in the NFL

        I have to say that
despite getting skunked - 0-4, for the first time ever in NFL playoff
predictions, I am might impressed with: Peyton Manning and the
Indianapolis Colts, who will lose big time in New England next weekend,
The New York Jets, who will get run over by the Pittsburgh Steelers next
weekend, the Minnesota Vikings and even yes, impressed to a lesser
degree, with the Saint Louis Rams, who really don't give a damn about
Coach Mike Martz, but are playing their best ball here late in the NFL's
       85th season (74th playoff yr.).

        First, Game Balls for
       week 18, NFL:

        1) Daunte (Quiet)
Culpepper, QB, Minnesota. I sure didn't realize that he had 4,700 yards
passing this season and 38 TDs with only 11 INTs. Three straight bad
playoff years for Favre and without Pederson, Mr. Reliable in reserve,
like no way for a Green Bay comeback in the second half yesterday.

        2) Peyton Manning, QB,
Indianapolis, another stellar game. Peyton, it's been awhile in coming,
but you are everything your dad (and brother) aren't / weren't. If you
can pull an upset in New England next week, you're an elite QB.

        3) Chad Pennington, QB,
New York Jets. Man, what a fine game, that San Diego v. the Jets. Drew
Brees, sans that INT. was outstanding. But no hanging Chad here! A Jets
surprising upset in Sun City despite Coach Herm Edwards and RB Coach
Bishop Harris almost coming to blows on the sidelines. Kinda like shades
of Buddy Ryan v. Kevin Gilbride, in '92,
       eh?

        4) Tory Holt, WR, Saint
Louis. He is carrying this team now. It'll end in Atlanta next week
       though.

        5) Coaches Mike Tice
and Tony Dungy, two nice guys who shut a lot of people up.

        Coaching and Front
       Office Carousel:

        The New Orlean Aint's
reupped good guy Coach Jim Haslett's option year and added two more in an
extension that makes sense (sort of). But Jim, get rid of Aaron Brooks,
Mr. Backward pass. In Sissy by the Bay, San Fran, GM Donohue and Coach
(?) Erickson, bye-bye. It wasn't pretty. Only concellation for 48ers is
that they found out both Ken Dorsey and Tim Rattay can play QB. Enough.
Well, would you believe, A LITTLE? I see Seattle's Mike Holmgren
scrapping by for another year but I see him being stripped

        of more power
(play-calling?). Last year he was ousted as G.M. As I correctly
predicted, Marty Schottenheimer (now 5-12 in playoffs) won by a good
margin in the Coach of the Year votes. Marty, good on ya! See, 'Coach'
Snyder, 8-8-0 isn't so bad. This past weekend saw some records as TWO
8-8-0 playoff teams won on the road for the first time in NFL history!
The only previous team to win in the playoffs was 8-8-0 New England, who
was crushed in the Super Bowl, 46-10 by Da Bears in Jan. '86.

        Moose's (not so)
fearless Picks, Week 19, Round Two, NFL Playoffs:

        AFC

        - New England by 8 OVER
       the Colts.

        Pittsburgh by 4 OVER
       the Jets.

 NFC

        - Philadelphia by 6 OVER
       the Vikings.

        Atlanta by 3 in O.T.
OVER the Rams. Mike Martz still isn't out of the woods RE: his Coaching
       job yet.
 Any magic left in Jamie
       Martin? Was there ever?

        Correction: Last week I
said Peyton Manning was 2-5 in the playoffs. Not true; he is now 3-4; he
was actually 2-4 in the NFL playoffs BEFORE last weekend's game v. Myk's
Broncos. Thanks for the correction, Jim Kiick." Moose

defeat! The Vikings win was fantastic and what about Darren Bennett's
great Aussie Rules punt that landed on the 5 yard line and back spun to
finish on the 7 yard line. Randy Moss you champ, very funny making out to
Moon the crowd, will he get a NFL fine? I think so.
        The
Seattle Seahawks still can't catch. The Chargers had a great year but the
Jets won in OT in another rippa of a game. I watched NFL all weekend and
also the new TV series called Playmakers 10pm PST time. A very
interesting show based on professional football but very controversial. I
picked 2 out of 4." Myk Aussie

NFL Playoff tips. I'm heading to Super Bowl, anyone want to help and be
       on Super Bowl MYKwebTV!"
        I'll
be talking a lot about the Bronco's vs Colts and the Packers vs Vikings
game  tonight on SportsRage the best Sports radio show in the World.
Hope you can listen as per above. It's a great show and Friday night is
       Freak Show Friday.
        Playoffs
week 1 AFC  - Colts over the Bronco's. I would like to pick
the Bronco's and if Jake Plummer doesn't throw any interceptions we are a
chance! But against the Colts in Indy I have to go for the Colts. 1st
time all year I have gone against the Bronco's but I hope I am wrong. Chargers
over the Jets n a game I am also really looking forward to watching
       Saturday night.
        NFC
       - Packers over the Vikings! I really do like both of these teams
as you will know if you are a regular on here and again I am immensely
looking forward to this game Sunday afternoon. Good luck to my mate
Darren Bennett for the Vikings and if Randy Moss has a big game the
       Vikings may be a chance.
        Rams
just over the Seahawks in Seattle just down the road in a game where both
teams were very lucky to make the playoffs.
        I'm
heading to Super Bowl! Does anyone know anyone in Jacksonville that wants
to be on upcoming Super Bowl MYKwebTV shows? My email today to Super Bowl
       Fan Housing.
        To
       Super Bowl Fan Housing I
was recently confirmed a NFL Super Bowl Media pass, this will be my 3rd
       Super Bowl. Based in
Western Canada I have been the only Australian regularly
reporting on the NFL the past 5 years. I
will be on my own most of the week at Super Bowl and am having trouble
       with accommodation. Two
weeks ago I checked and it was $160 a night for the cheapest hotel and
       it was 40 miles away.
That's too far away and too much. At
this stage I am flying to Virginia and driving to Jacksonville in my
       friends van. This
gives me a choice of sleeping in a van and showering at a gym or truck
       stop if necessary or just
swimming in the ocean in the morning. Seriously, us
Aussies don't mind roughing it if we have to. Would make for a interesting
       movie/MYKwebTV show I suppose. Can
you please help as I am very successful but will not pay $160 a night
       to be 40 miles away.
       Is there any shared accommodation
       available anywhere? I
can offer to promote a business or the individual fans involved on my
       popular MYKwebTV show in
exchange. ie Many fans would enjoy being part of my Super
       Bowl MYKwebTV
       Comedy based shows. Hope
       to hear back. Regards
       Myk Aussie Whether
I am on the beach, in my van, at a ladies place or wherever I know I will
be having a fun time. If you have any questions at all or know of anyone
that may be interested myk@mykaussie.com or Ph: 403 870-5578 me Canuck #.
