Good luck to
Dan Federkeil from here in Calgary as he
tries to make the NFL Indianapolis Colts team. The Colts have moved Dan from the
Defensive line where he played last year to the Offensive Line. What a Huge step
up from playing CIS in CDN to the NFL practice game. Listening to SportsTalk
radio here in Calgary apparently Dan did very well when he came on in the 4th
quarter against the Rams. It will still be a longshot that he will make the team
in 06 but hopefully the Colts keep him on the roster in 06. Another CDN in the
NFL is always a good thing!
Cwoc Lisa "Mariah Carey", me, Cwoc Kim and Nike the awesome female dog just
after 1/2 time of the Stamps vs Riders game. Yes Mariah you do look beautiful in
the pic you took on your camera phone.
Oh my and now we have a 3rd
beautiful Cwoc from Winnipeg in magnificent Stampeders Red joining us. Wow! Nike
the dog is amazed how Red is the color. His sun glasses were a huge hit with the
Cwoc's. Nike is somewhat shocked I think at the cleavage and just has to look
away.
Cwoc Lisa or is it Marie Carey's
younger sexy sister?, Nike and Cwoc Kim. My mykaussie/Total-CFL business
card has never looked better! Kim is a regular at the tailgate party.
Thanks Nike the Stampeder! You are
a Champ. Terry, Nike's owner tells me that Nike means "Greek Goddess of
Victory". Nike is a female Pit Bull and Terry tells she is a wonderful dog.
SportRage Friday night talking Al's vs Stamps! I'll be down at McMahon
Friday morning watching the Al's practice in readiness for my call to Morency's
Montreal Team 990 SportsRage "Friday Night Freak Show" just after midnight
Stamps time. So as I'm adding these great pic's at 12.15 am and listening to
SportsRage Montreal Team 990 on the internet, Gabriel Morency the host starts
saying how he thinks Mariah Carey is hot and he would like to meet here as she
is currently touring. So I email him these pic's above and then 20 minutes later
he talks about me meeting Mariah. He then says how I sleep with a cardboard cut
out of Pammy Anderson. That's funny Morency! He also says how I did met the real
Pamela at the fantastic CFL Grey Cup 05. Here's the TotalCFLwebTV shows from CFL
Grey Cup 05 with the real Pamela, many great CFL fans, some great CFL players
and many stunning CFL cheerleaders. Enjoy!

From Total-CFL Discussion. “According to published reports the
Argos have fired O.C. Kent Austin. A little surprising considering the injuries
there. Not surprising that this decision probably came from Rita however.
“Orangeshoes99
“So much for Kent's 'head coaching' ambitions. But that's OK! We've got a couple
of Arena 2 teams, out west, that Kent could coach. One in Calgary and one in
Regina. “Hoof
“This one caught me by surprise. Anyone in TO have insight? Has there been
pressure on him lately? I always though highly of him as a OC as long as he has
the right players. I do think this might be a conflict between him wanting to
do it his way and not what he is told.” Cardiac Cowboy
"Has there been pressure on him lately? " Although I don't agree with this move,
most Argo fans, on-line at least, have been on Austin's case for quite some time
now. Many blame him and not the six turnovers for the loss in the eastern final
last year and criticism has only increased this year with every loss.“ Ravi Ramkissoonsingh
“Sure Austin is not entirely to blame for the eastern final last year. As you
said there was plenty of mistakes, but it was also a very one sided game plan.
It looked as though he had zero intentions on rushing the ball. I think he has
consistently shown a lack of originality in his play calling. Is Austin solely
to blame for the this season. Hell no. Where is our O-Line? Baker the Touchdown
maker as reverted into Baker the Fumble maker. Injuries upon injuries. But with
the talent that has been brought into the team, the Argonauts should not be
getting spanked the way they are. Certainly the Argonauts should not have a
winning record at this point in the year because of all these injuries. But I
honestly feel that Austin has a very one dimensional game plan. Last year it
worked fine... after all we had few injuries. This year, well a very bad 2-5
speaks volumes to the teams’ performance. And unfortunately Austin has presented
himself as a very big target because of the teams’ poor production on offence.
Personally I think he has no idea
how to incorporate the running game into his game plan though. Williams was not
going to run over opposing D's the way some Argo fans had hoped, but he is a
very capable running back. So are Avery and Johnson. Sure all of them are pretty
much injured, but when healthy there is no reason they could not have amounted
to a very capable rushing game for the Argonauts.
Time and time again it seems as
though Austin called the long range low percentage passing plays instead of a
more balanced ball control game plan. Its no wonder our young QB's are
struggling, low percentage plays with a rag-tag O-line... it’s a recipe for
failure. He’s likely still wishing he had Bishop, you know since he has the
right stuff and all. If the Argonauts do not add some beef to the O-Line this
off season Rita and Mohn’s should be next. Mohn's for not finding the talent,
and Rita for letting it go on like this for too long. PS notice Mr. Teflon
aka Coach Clemons is not on the chopping block.
Ravi
- since you disagree with this move, what would you have preferred to have
happened?” EastCoastArgoFan
"Time and time again it seems as though Austin called the long range low
percentage passing plays instead of a more balanced ball control game plan. That
is what it may have seemed like but I don't know that that was necessarily the
case. In the case of Spergon Wynn, he looked afraid to go deep. In the game at
home to Winnipeg, there were players open deep but Wynn would always go with the
safe pass instead. It certainly appeared that Austin was very frustrated on the
sidelines about this. They did try to run numerous times in that game but it
simply did not work and they had to go back to the passing game. In fact, twice
the running game worked this year and Austin stuck with it in both games but
sometimes there is no sense beating a dead horse when it doesn't work. The one
game that I would criticize him for not running more was Damon's first game back
against the Lions. They definitely should have given the ball more to Jeff
Johnson in the first half of that game.
As to what I would have liked to see happen, I would have liked to see Austin
retained until some of these injured players came back. Look at Winnipeg the
other night once Kevin Glenn went down. Their offence looked pretty bad as well
and if Glenn is out for any length of time, Bomber fans might soon by calling
for offensive coordinator Mike Gibson's head. “ Ravi Ramkissoonsingh

From Sat Aug 5. Lions star QB Dave Dickenson was
last night "again" unfortunately injured! This time he injured his
right ankle so hopefully it is not to bad. Buck Pierce the back up QB came into
the game and was excellent. Winnipeg Blue Bombers new star QB Kevin Glenn was
also injured. It was great to see the Tiger-Cats get a much need win. The
Edmonton Eskimos the 05 Grey Cup champs fall to 2 and 5 and are at the bottom of
the powerful CFL West.
I'm about to head to the Biggest and Best CFL tailgate party in Canada, the
Stamps tailgate to see the Riders take on the Stamps in what should be a
fantastic game. The pressure is on here in Calgary as the Stamps have lost their
last 3 games while the Riders seem to be improving each week. It is believed
there will be close on 10,000 Rider fans with Green on and some with Watermelons
on their heads in the 30,000+ crowd today. I was told there are close to 250,000
Sask people now living in Boom Oil and Gas City of Calgary which last week hit 1
million people. Even though I am now settled back in Calgary living and staying
for the rest of 06 or more I will be wearing my BC Lions jersey today. I look
forward to meeting my mates here at Oldpaints party and new Rider and Stamps
fans. I'll be taking lots of mykaussie/Total-CFL business cards and stickers to
hand out. I got to get off here and to the party. If you are in Calgary area "Be

Helmet to Helmet Hit" according to Blue Fan on Spergon Wynn the Argo's QB?

Aussie
Scott Schultz has today been given
an undisclosed fine for a hit against Argo quarterback Spergon Wynn.
From a great Discussion this week on Total-CFL.com Discussion!
Blue Fan says “Schultz Should be suspended. A Clear
helmet to helmet hit!
"Here's a link to the video
Click
here " Myk
“Nonsense. That was a legal Hit. Aad the only person who should be suspended is
Danny Barrett and Richie Hall. Totally out-coached again in that game. Congrats
to the Argos and their fans the played well enough to win. “ Terencius1
“Helmet to Helmet hits are not legal hits. Quarterbacks are going to get killed
if the league continues to allow bush league hits like this one. “Blue Fan
“Quarterbacks are going to get killed if they continue to use myopic tunnel-visioned
idiots at the position. MG.....LOOK up you idiot and you won't get hit like
that.” Almightyjeff
“Whether accidental or by design, it was an illegal hit (one of two by the
Riders on Argo qb's). Should be a suspension and/or fine for both in my view,
regardless of the refs blowing the calls.” 3 Minute Warning
“Yep.. That stuff is brutal. Similar to the Butler hit on Quinn. “ Colin Unger
”Definitely illegal by the rules, as it was helmet to helmet... a clear 15 yard
penalty, and the refs blew the call. With video replay at their disposal, and
the stated goal of it being to the calls correct, I'm in favour of it being used
in an instance such as this where something happens on the last play of the
quarter or half to take another look while the injury timeout is occurring, and
assess the penalty yards on the subsequent kickoff. At the same time, I don't
believe it was a dirty hit or an intent to injure, so I wouldn't be in favour of
suspending or fining Schultz.
I
was very pleased to see Schultz show the class of going over to Pinball after
the game, asking about Wynn and showing his remorse for the outcome. I was not
exactly thrilled with how exuberant he was after the hit in terms of celebrating
while it seemed quite clear that Wynn was quite seriously hurt... but chalk that
up to getting caught up in the moment and the adrenaline. Shultz hasn't been a
favorite of mine, but he moved up the respect scale with me last night. “
GreatWhiteNorth
“Well said, GWN! I agree with everything that you said about the situation and
Schultz.“ Ravi Ramkissoonsingh
“I'll be surprised if they do. While helmet to helmet contact was made I don't
recall Schultz ever leaving his feet meet to indicate any sort of intent. I
think Wynn simply got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. He saw the
other rusher coming from the right and at the last second started to turn to
either roll out of that contact or at least not take the full impact.
Unfortunately I don't think he saw Schultz coming from his blind side and turned
into him. It wasn't much of a turn, perhaps a quarter turn, but I think it was
enough to create the situation. As Wynn suddenly turned into him it was too late
for Schultz to pull up. It all happened too fast for that. Without that last
second turn by Wynn into Schultz who was already right there I don't believe
there would have been helmet to helmet contact.
Had Spergon just been standing there looking downfield when the contact was made
and not made that small turn I think it would be easy for the league to justify
a suspension. But by turning into the contact it will make a suspension tough to
justify. I'm all for protecting all players (not just QBs) from dangerous plays,
but this one to me was just an unfortunate football play. As for Schultz'
reaction immediately after the play that was simply emotion from making a big
play. Any defensive player would do that almost instinctively; make the big hit
and immediately jump up pumped. All that is going through your mind is that you
just made a big physical football play and likely haven't even noticed the other
guy hasn't already started picking himself up. Once that was out of his system
and he turned around to see Wynn was still on the turf I'm sure those same
emotions were quickly being replaced by concerns for Wynn.“ Hambone
“The celebrations I was referring to were when he was high-fiving teammates and
celebrating over by the locker-room moments after the hit while trainers were
still attending to Wynn but obviously before the ambulance was called out. One
of those situations that most of find ourselves in at some point or another,
whereby we're reacting without really understanding the full scope of the
situation, and often hindsight causes us to be a little embarrassed about it.”

interim with Ron Lancaster. I thought they'd give him a bit more time but I
suspect after the offseason acquisitions of guys like Maas, Vaughn, Ranek, Cavil

going 9-8-1 after the 1-17-0 disaster in 2003. 5-17-0 since then is more than
enough justification for the move." Hambone, Total-CFLer
